The Takahashi collimating telescope is a 6 x 18 mm telescope designed for use on refractor, Ritchey-Chrieten, classical Cassegrain telescopes, can also be used on refractors of 820 mm or more in focal length.
Excellent for use with GSO Ritchey-Chrieten scope making collimation easy to check and adjust prior to use. You will need the included TCN0050 2" Adapter in order to connect it to a 2" focuser.
The Secondary mirror of the RC will need to be centre spotted for it to work. The front objective of the collimating telescope has a reflective mirror set at 45 degrees to the telescopes light path, there is an opaque window on the side of the telescope so that light enters the side window which illuminates the mirror and projects a white target onto the Secondary mirror.
When looking through the telescope, focus by moving the eyepiece in or out to focus on the internal components.
The Takahashi collimating telescope comes with a four-page illustrated instruction manual to help you understand how easy it is to achieve perfect collimation.
