150 mm optics on a manual tabletop base.

The Sky-Watcher Heritage 150P is a Newtonian telescope for visual astronomy. Its aperture suits lunar detail, planets, star clusters and deep-sky observing; darker skies make faint targets easier to see.

150 mmaperture

Collect light for visual observing

The parabolic primary mirror forms the image you view through an eyepiece. Sky conditions still set the detail you can resolve.

750 mmfocal length

Choose magnification with the eyepiece

Magnification is telescope focal length divided by eyepiece focal length. Start at low power to find and centre a target, then increase it when the air is steady.

Manualmount

Point and follow by hand

Move the telescope up, down and around to find your target, then make small adjustments as it drifts through the field.

Collapse the tube for storage

Extend and lock the tube for observing, then retract it for storage. The collapsing structure reduces tube length; allow room for the base as well when planning storage or transport.

Eyepiece fitting

The telescope accepts standard 1.25-inch eyepieces.

Visual observing

Use lower power for larger star fields and higher power for lunar or planetary detail when conditions allow.

Observing conditions

Let the optics approach the outdoor temperature. Steady air and a dark observing location help you make the most of the aperture.

Good to know

01

Use a stable observing surface

This is a tabletop telescope. Place the base on a rigid, level table or platform at a comfortable viewing height.

02

Prepare the optics

Allow cooling time before judging fine detail. Check reflector collimation, particularly after transport or assembly.

03

Keep the Sun out of the telescope

Never point the telescope or finder at the Sun. Unfiltered sunlight can cause permanent eye damage.
