Users will experience incredible views without breaking the bank or impinging on your telescope's balance. They represent what is perhaps the best buy today for astronomers on a budget or for beginners. But don't be fooled by their low prices - these might well turn out to be all the eyepieces you will ever need!
The Bintel Plossls are available in a 1.25" barrel size and 9 different focal lengths ranging from 6mm to 40mm. The 4mm, 6mm and 9mm models are great for high power planetary and lunar observation. The 12mm and 15mm are perfect intermediate focal lengths, performing well on both deep-sky and planetary subjects. The 20mm and 25mm models would be excellent choices for low power scanning of open star clusters and viewing larger galaxies. The 32mm and 40mm models offer a wide field and are superb for wide field scanning, detailed observations of large diffuse subjects or as a finder eyepiece.
- All eyepieces are fully multicoated (FMC) for maximum light transmission
- High quality lenses provide the best-possible sharpness all over the field of view
- Blackened lens edges reduce light scattering and improve contrast
- Fold-down rubber eyecups to keep out stray light
- Comfortable eye relief at all but the shortest focal lengths (As in all Plossl eyepieces, eye relief can get tight at the shorter focal lengths but this is design constraint, not a fault of these eyepieces)
- Includes two end caps
- 50 Apparent field (degrees)

Reduces an astrophotography refractor’s effective focal length by a factor of 0.8x, providing a shorter, more optically fast focal ratio.
Designed for use with any refractor telescope equipped with a 2″ focuser ,focal lengths between 400mm to 660mm and focal ratios of f/5 to f/7.5
Back focus required: 55mm of
Also flattens the field for sharper stars at the edge of the frame
Coatings: Fully multi-coated
Clear aperture: 38mm
Mounting: Threaded
Weight (gms): 175
Some of the most picturesque celestial objects are too large to fit in the field of view of an imaging refractor and camera. What’s more, most objects in deep space are very faint and therefore challenging to image without taking very long exposures, increasing the potential for error. 0.8x Focal Reducer for Refractors addresses these obstacles by increasing your refractor telescope’s field of view while reducing the effective focal length by a factor of 0.8x, thereby providing a shorter, more optically “fast” focal ratio to increase astrophotography efficiency. Using the 0.8x focal reducer not only enables your refractor telescope to acquire a larger field of view, but also makes it capable of capturing bright, vividly detailed astrophotos.

A secondary mirror (or secondary) is the second deflecting or focusing mirror element in a reflecting telescope. Light gathered by the primary mirror is directed towards a focal point typically past the location of the secondary. Secondary mirrors in the form of an optically flat diagonal mirror are used to re-direct the light path in designs such as Newtonian reflectors.

Bintel UHC Narrowband Filter – 1.25"
The Bintel UHC Narrowband Filter is designed to dramatically improve contrast when visually observing emission nebulae, especially from light-polluted suburban and city skies. By selectively passing key nebular emission lines while blocking common artificial light sources, it helps faint objects stand out more clearly against a darker background sky.
Unlike broadband filters, the UHC’s narrower passband delivers stronger contrast on classic nebulae such as The Orion Nebula, The Carina Nebula, The Lagoon Nebula and so many more. Even under urban lighting, brighter nebulae become easier to detect, while dark-sky observers will appreciate the added structure and subtle detail revealed.
Advanced multilayer dielectric coatings provide excellent transmission (over 97% across the passband) while fully blocking major light pollution lines. This high efficiency makes the filter particularly effective with small to medium aperture telescopes. Ion beam–hardened coatings ensure long-term durability and scratch resistance.
Key Features
-
Ultra High Contrast (UHC) narrowband design for visual observing
-
Strong enhancement of emission nebulae contrast
-
High transmission at H-beta (486.1nm) and OIII (495.9nm & 500.7nm)
-
Over 97% transmission across the passband
-
Effectively blocks common light pollution wavelengths
-
Durable multilayer dielectric, ion beam–hardened coatings
-
Standard 1.25" filter thread fits most eyepieces
Specifications
-
Type: UHC light pollution suppression filter
-
Size: 1.25" (standard thread)
-
Material: Optical glass with aluminium cell
-
Application: Screws directly into the barrel of 1.25" eyepieces
An essential visual filter for anyone who enjoys observing nebulae, the Bintel UHC Narrowband Filter delivers noticeably darker skies, brighter nebulae, and more rewarding views, especially where light pollution would otherwise limit what you can see.

Bintel UHTC Cleaning Solution
Our cleaning solution is the same solution as used in most optical labs worldwide. It is made using 99.7% Technical grade Isopropyl Alcohol, Blue Windex, Reverse Osmosis Water and Kodak Photoflow 200 (a wetting agent).
It is safe to use on coated optics including Corrector Plates, Objective lenses, Eyepieces, Binoculars, Filters, Camera Lenses and even your Spectacles
Method for cleaning Schmidt-Cassegrain Corrector Plates*
You should never attempt to remove the corrector plate. Cleaning of the Primary and Secondary mirrors can only be done in a workshop by trained technicians. Condensation in city areas will contain contaminates that can leave marks or spots on the corrector plate. Whilst they shouldn’t hurt the optics, it is nice for them to not be there. When telescopes are used away from the city, dust can be a problem. If the area you are in is dusty keep your covers on as long as possible. However, dust and marks on correctors are always going to happen. It is inevitable that fingerprints will somehow find there way onto your corrector plate. Fingerprints will damage the coatings and should be removed at first available opportunity.
- Be sure you hands are clean.
- First give the optical surface a good dusting with a hurricane blower or compressed air. This will remove any solid particles from the surface and prepare it for the next step.
- A fine hair brush can be used for getting into hard to reach places. This should be followed with another dusting with the hurricane blower.
- Take a sheet of soft, unscented tissue and lightly wet with a few drops of UHTC solution, best dispensed from a spray bottle.
- TAKE CARE NOT TO SATURATE THE TISSUE WITH LIQUID.
- Crumple the tissue up and WITHOUT APPLYING ANY PRESSURE wipe across the surface of the corrector plate.
- Discard the tissue and repeat this process until the whole of the corrector plate has been wiped clean.
- Crumple a dry soft, unscented tissue and gently wipe dry making sure not to use any pressure on the corrector plate.
- Your corrector plate will now be clean and ready for use again.
Instructions for Cleaning Coated Optics
*Bintel takes no responsibility for accidental damage to optics whilst employing the above method. If the steps are followed correctly, it is unlikely that you should have any issues.

Raptors are popular and iconic birds, and are important ecologically, with some species listed as threatened. Yet they are among the most difficult birds to identify. This fully updated third edition of the popular and award-winning field guide Birds of Prey of Australia contains two sections: a field guide with distribution maps, detailed illustrations and information on identification; and a handbook which includes an overview of the current knowledge about raptors, including their biology, ecology and behaviour. An illustrated section on difficult-to-distinguish species pairs is also included, along with new photographs.
- Updated edition of this popular and award-winning field guide
- 'Bible' of raptor identification, providing current knowledge on the ecology and biology of these species
- New and improved photos
- Companion to the recently released Australian Birds of Prey in Flight, which aids identification of soaring raptors
Stephen Debus has studied or observed all 24 of Australia’s resident raptor species during the past 40 years, almost half of them intensively and some over many years. Awarded BirdLife Australia’s D.L. Serventy Medal for ornithological publication, his many works include the definitive field guide to this difficult group of birds.
