Capturing impressive deep-sky astroimages is easier than ever with Celestron’s Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA 11) V2, the perfect companion to today’s top DSLR or astronomical CCD cameras. This fast, wide-field f/2.2 system allows for shorter exposure times compared to traditional f/10 astroimaging, without sacrificing resolution. Because shorter sub-exposure times are possible, your equatorial mount won’t need to accurately track over extended periods. The short focal length also lessens equatorial tracking demands. In many cases, autoguiding will not be required.
RASA 11 V2 builds on the legacy of Celestron’s Schmidt Cameras, which allowed astrophotographers to produce images with much shorter exposure times on film in the 1970s.
Today, with CCD sensor sizes as large as film or larger, the RASA 11 V2 offers a 43.3mm optimized image circle to capture pinpoint stars on the largest imaging chips. Optical performance for huge sensors with diagonals of up to 52mm wide is still excellent.
Combine this large image circle with a focal length of just 620mm and you have an instrument suitable for wide-field imaging, creating huge mosaics of the night sky, surveying, and even comet hunting.
Optical Performance
The RASA 11 V2 features optics with 4-element rare-earth glass for images free of false color and aberrations like coma and field curvature. The optical quality and spot size across the entire image circle are unprecedented for an astrograph in this price range—or even that of a much more expensive instrument. The design also provides minimal vignetting.
Advanced Features
RASA 11 V2 utilizes the Ultra-Stable Focus System (USFS). At the heart of this system is a precision linear ball bearing. The bearing serves to minimize focus shift (unwanted lateral motion of the primary mirror during focusing which causes shifting of the image) and mirror flop (movement of the primary mirror when the telescope is pointing to different positions in the sky). The USFS is also compatible with the optional Celestron Focus Motor (#94155-A). The integrated 12V DC MagLev fan reduces cooldown time and provides optimal airflow through the dust filtered optical tube.
Engineered as a complete astroimaging system, every component of the RASA 11 V2 is optimized for peak performance with DSLR and astronomical CCD cameras. Down to the thickness of the glass used in the included fully-multicoated optical window or optional imaging filter, every component of the system has been taken into careful consideration to work together seamlessly. The Dovetail CGE bars on the top of the optical tube provides a connection for use of optional accessories like a guidescope.

- Designed to fit 32mm counterweight shafts
- Sturdy lock knob keeps the counterweight safely on the shaft
Whether you are enhancing your mount setup or buying a replacement part, the counterweight is there to balance weight of the optical tube (OTA) and accessories on the other side of the Right Accession (RA Axis). If you add accessories to your telescope setup (ie camera, guider, etc), you may need to add additional counterweights to off-set the weight.
If the balance is off on one-side or the other, it can do damage to your OTA and setup, the motor gear, and/or may have issues with tracking accuracy. You can add additional counterweights to improve the responsiveness to the system by reducing the mass inertia, though you need to make sure you space out the counterweights along the shaft to reduce damage to your setup and that it is cost-effective and worth it for your telescope setup.
This counterweight comes with a sturdy knurled knob locks to safely hold in place on the counterweight shaft. The counterweight is designed to fit 32mm counterweight shafts
Below are the counterweights that go with each one of our recent Celestron mounts.
| Weight: | 22 lbs (9.98 kg) |

All-sky Camera
Introducing the ASI676MC/MM , the all-sky camera featuring a unique square 1/1.6-inch image sensor and a super high resolution of 12MP! It is perfectly suited for meteor recording and full sky surveillance. The square format facilitates easier composition, making mosaic stitch simpler and more efficient, and the high resolution brings you clear details of the Sun and our Moon. With this camera, you may start your marvelous journey to explore the boundless night sky.
ASI676MC / MM Highlights
Why Square Format?
One of the biggest benefits of ASI676MC/MM's square format is it makes the whole mosaic construction process much easier by eliminating the need to consider the difference between the long and wide sides of the format during mosaic stitching.
Not only that, the square format also makes the ASI676MC/MM more compatible with various types of lenses such as fisheye lenses and wide-angle lenses. Thus, ASI676MC/MM is more suitable for tasks such as meteor recording and full sky surveillance.
STARVIS 2
STARVIS is a sensor technology developed by Sony that surpasses the sensitivity of the human eye. STARVIS 2 is an advancement of STARVIS technology, supporting an even higher dynamic range.
With this technology, ASI676MC/MM exhibits lower readout noise and dark current, along with significantly enhanced sensitivity in the near-infrared spectrum.
256MB DDR3
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission.
No Amp Glow
ASI676MC/MM does not have any amp glow, no matter how long the exposure and how high the gain value you set.
Note: This technology is implemented directly at the hardware level, it does not require software control.
HCG Mode
The camera has a built-in HCG mode, which can effectively reduce readout noise at high gain. This allows the camera to maintain the same high dynamic range as it does at low gain. When the gain is 180, the HCG mode is automatically turned on. The readout noise is as low as 0.56e, and the dynamic range can still reach a level close to 11 stops.
Quantum Efficiency
The QE curve and readout noise are very important parameters to measure the camera's performance. Higher QE and lower readout noise are necessary to improve the image signal-to-noise ratio.
ASI676MM
Dark Current Noise
The ASI676MC/MM's lower dark current noise means that the image signal-to-noise ratio is also higher, especially when photographing dark objects, it produces images with better sharpness.
Coated Window
The ASI676MM camera features an AR-coated protective filter in front of the sensor, with a diameter of 21 mm and a thickness of 1.1 mm. It protects the sensor from external damage while enhancing light transmission from the near-ultraviolet to the near-infrared spectrum.
