ZWO 30F5 Mini Guide Scope
The 30 mm f/5 APO optic gives your guiding camera a 150 mm focal length, while the non-rotating helical focuser lets you set focus and lock it in place.
ZWO designed the optical system to reduce the impact of chromatic aberration around stars, giving guiding software a cleaner star profile to work with.
The non-rotating helical mechanism moves through 20 mm, then the locking screw holds the selected position.
The lens assembly includes a lens-fixing tube and integrated hood as part of the guide scope body.
Fit the supplied plate into a compatible telescope guide-dovetail groove, then tighten the groove locking screws.
Use the 1.25-inch interface. For a guide camera, ZWO recommends attaching an extension tube.
Release the focus lock, rotate the red helical knob until the star is sharp, then secure the lock again.
Neither a guide camera nor a planetary camera is included with the guide scope.
For a guide-camera setup, ZWO recommends attaching an extension tube for optimal use.
That is typically the better fit for autoguiding with the 30F5, although a planetary camera can also be connected.
ZWO also describes the 30F5 as a small-aperture primary telescope for astrophotography or visual observation.
