Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ

A parabolic reflector with phone-guided pointing.

The DX 130AZ is a visual telescope for beginners who want help finding targets. Its parabolic primary mirror supports views of the Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky objects; darker skies help reveal fainter objects.

Align your phone

Attach your compatible phone to the dock, activate the app with the supplied code and align the phone to the telescope optics.

Follow the arrows

Choose a visible object in the app. Move the telescope by hand as the arrows guide you towards it.

Look through the eyepiece

When the bullseye turns green, look through the telescope. Use both slow-motion knobs to refine the view and follow the target.

Good to know

Align the finder in daylight.

Use a distant, stationary target to align the red-dot finder with the telescope before night observing. Never use the Sun.

You can observe without the app.

Use the supplied StarPointer red-dot finder to aim the telescope manually.

Protect your eyes.

Never aim at the Sun without a suitable solar filter. Permanent eye injury can result.
