Like its little brother, the Telrad Dew Shield, the Telrad Dew Shield plus is made from lightweight plastic and attaches directly to your Telrad Reflex Finder with no additional modifications. The shield is held in place with two plastic tensioning screws connected to its frame that align to the existing screws on the finder body. You can then adjust the amount of force it takes to open and close the protective hood. When not in use, simply flip the Telrad 2025 Plus back and you have an unobstructed view!

While the Telrad Dew Shield Plus won't completely stop dew, it will great increase the amount of time you are able to use the viewing screen during dew point conditions and extends the life of your Telrad Finder's reticule by shielding it from harmful moisture. The construction of the hood also helps to keep the built-in mirror out of harms way! What could be easier or more clever?!

The lightweight plastic Telrad Dew Shield won't stop dew completely, but it's a very effective "shower cap" for your precious finder. The flip up shield connects to your Telrad by using the existing screws at the rear of the finder body and is held in place by adjusting the friction screws connected to the shield's metal attachment bracket. When your Telrad isn't in use, just pivot the hood forward to protect the viewing screen and the reticule... Then flip it back for an unobstructed view whenever you're ready to aim!

This simple and inexpensive addition extends the amount of time you can use your Telrad and helps increase the life time of your Telrad Finder scope by protecting it from excess moisture.

Celestron Dew-Shield C14 is designed to fit on the front end of the telescope to reduce the amount of dew that builds up on the corrector plate.

It also serves as a Len Shade by preventing stray light from falling on the corrector plate, which greatly improves contrast.

It is made from a thicker material called Foamex that wont crack under temperature extremes.

The quality is a step above all others as all material is sewn together (not glued) for a long life.

Stores flat after use.

The Celestron Dew Shield DX is an essential accessory that protects your optical tube in the field. It prevents excess moisture in the air from forming condensation on the corrector lens. A dew shield also helps block stray light from entering the telescope for better viewing and astroimaging. Use the Dew Shield DX on your 6” and 8” Schmidt Cassegrain, EdgeHD, and RASA (with single dovetail) optical tubes with confidence.

Construction

The Dew Shield DX provides a perfect, custom fit designed specifically for 6” and 8” Celestron optical tubes. The Dew Shield is built from durable PE plastic that is flexible but strong. Extra padding has been added at the tube attachment edge to create a stronger fit on the optical tube. The felt-lined interior absorbs any additional stray light and excessive moisture, creating optimal contrast when viewing and imaging. The large dovetail cutout has been made both wider- to accommodate a 4” wide dovetail rails, as well as deeper, to create a more solid connection with the optical tube.

Attaching the Dew Shield to your optical tube is easy thanks to the Velcro attachment points. Whether your optical tube is 6” or 8”, simply adjust the Velcro for the correct fit.
