The Celestron Dew Heater Ring is the ideal dew prevention solution for your Celestron telescope. This must-have accessory will improve your observing or imaging nights year-round. The Dew Heater Ring permanently mounts to your 6" Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube, replacing your retaining ring, so you'll never be caught without it. The installation process is quick and easy (follow the manual for instructions).
How it works
The Dew Heater Ring replaces the plastic retaining ring on your Schmidt corrector lens for efficient heating across the lens. The ring is constructed of lightweight, durable aluminum. Its rigid frame supports the cable circuity and the telescope's Schmidt corrector lens. Unlike other heating bands or strips that inefficiently heat the lens cell to warm the glass, the Celestron Dew Heater Ring heats the corrector glass directly, providing the most efficient transfer of heat to prevent dew formation.
Simply plug the ring into an external 12V DC power source for consistent, continuous heat that will prevent dew from forming even under heavy dew conditions. The Dew Heater Ring features two storage clips to keep the power and thermistor jacks secure when not in use while accommodating the telescope's dust cover.
The Dew Heater Ring also comes with a cable management clip that connects to the telescope's front cell. Corral the power and thermistor jack to prevent them from dangling and reduce unwanted pulls on the cable connection to the rings.
The Dew Heater Ring comes complete with:
- Dew Heater Ring
- Cable management clip
- Power jack extension cable
- Paper installation shield
Enhance your setup
To achieve the highest level of dew prevention while maximizing power efficiency, we strongly recommend pairing the Dew Heater Ring with a Smart DewHeater Controller (sold separately). The controller uses the ring's built-in thermistor and its internal environmental sensor to provide just the right amount of heat to the corrector to prevent dew based upon the ambient temperature, ambient humidity, and temperature of the Schmidt corrector, which can dramatically reduce the ring’s power draw, greatly increasing battery life. The ring also includes an extension cable for connecting the ring directly to one of the controllers’ heater output ports, or to a third-party controller’s heater output port. (Note: the ring’s integrated thermistor is only compatible with the Celestron Smart DewHeater Controllers).
We also recommend adding a dew shield to your setup. While not mandatory, a shield will cut down on the amount of power the Dew Heater Ring needs to keep the optics clear.

Tele Vue's Delos 14mm is a medium focal length eyepiece that creates an “immersive viewing experience”. With its generous 20mm eye-relief and wide 72° apparent field of view you will be hard pressed to find another eyepiece that is such a pleasure to look through. Amazing wide fields of view in well corrected refractors with short to medium focal lengths (over 1° FOV up to 1000mm focal length). While some of the shorter focal length Delos eyepieces may provide too much power in long focal length Cassegrains, the Delos 14mm is suitable for any focal length telescope.
There is a good chance the TeleVue Delos will be seen as the ultimate combination of performance, viewing comfort and price. If you've been keeping a spot in your case for an affordable, premium eyepiece, you should consider a Delos - you won't be disappointed! Lessons learned from the tremendously successful Ethos series were applied to develop this long eye-relief, 72° apparent field of view eyepiece line.
The Delos 14mm has standard a 1.25" barrel making it suitable for almost any telescope or even bino-viewers!
Tele Vue Delos 14mm - Specifications
- Model # EDL-14.0
- Focal Length 14mm
- Barrel Size 1.25"
- Apparent Field of View 72°
- Eye Relief 20mm
- Weight 408g
- Field Stop 17.3mm
Background:
In 2011 Tele Vue introduced the Delos, mid-to-short focal length line of 20mm eye-relief, 72° apparent field of view eyepieces. Every optical, mechanical, and ergonomic aspect was rethought to achieve reference-standard performance for any visual application.
The Delos was conceived as a narrower field Ethos. Reducing the field to 72° allowed freedom to increase eye-relief, while controlling pupil aberrations, all without making the eyepiece too large. With Ethos performance standards as benchmarks, the Delos design achieves full field sharpness, virtually perfect f θ (theta) distortion mapping, and color neutrality. Image fidelity is maximized utilizing glass matched multicoatings and anti-reflection surfaces throughout the eyepiece.
Contrast is further enhanced with a new, continuously adjustable height eyeguard system that can be locked in any position. Since the Delos eye-lens measures a quite large 35mm in diameter, preventing stray light from reflecting off the first surface and extraneous light from entering your eye pays off in a nice increase in perceived contrast. The eyeguard's sliding action allows for positioning the soft rubber eyeguard at the ideal height to suit the observer's preference. Indicator marks on the eyepiece body are handy reference guides for setting your perfect position. The eye-guard can also rotate for Dioptrx users.

More Than Expected (Delos 6 and 10mm)
And while the 20 mm of eye relief make them attractive for those was observe wearing eyeglasses, it was the "distinctly pleasurable" observing experience that most impressed our reviewer. When it comes to eyepiece design, The Delos seems to have hit all the sweet spots.

Excerpt from ATT review of Delos 6- & 10-mm eyepieces:
Wide-Field Eyepieces That Pack a Planetary Punch
With the Delos, the eyepiece simply "disappears" and allows the observer to observe. I could find nothing whatsoever to complain about; the "twist and tighten" eye relief adjustment feature is the best I've ever seen in any eyepiece, and the optics are essentially perfect. Tele Vue somehow always finds a way to continuously improve upon their eyepieces and the Delos is certainly no exception. Bottomline: If you're in the market for a planetary eyepiece, you owe it to yourself to consider the Tele Vue Delos.

Review of the 6mm & 10mm Delos from Astronomy Magazine, December 2011
- Contrast was excellent - right up there with some of the best planetary eypeices I've ever used.
- I searched but saw no internal reflections or scattering in either eyepiece.
- The flat field the Delos eyepieces produce really made star fields pop. Open clusters epitomized the old standard "diamonds on velvet". Stars on and off axis showed no sign of astigmatism.
- Tele Vue has constructed an eyepiece that stands with the best deep-sky and planetary eyepieces on the market.

WHAT WE LIKE:
Essentially perfect optics
"Immersive" observation experience
WHAT WE DON'T LIKE:
I spent several nights viewing the Moon, Saturn, stars and nebulae with a variety of telescopes … .
The Delos eyepieces are "easy to look through … . They have flat fields, delivering absolute pinpoint stars from edge to edge with no hint of color aberration. The view, especially during the daytime, is very pure with no noticeable color tint. And there wasn't a hint of ghosts or reflections, even with the brightest stars".
"What caught me a bit off guard, however, was something that's best described as the observing experience. It was distinctly pleasurable."
"I have the sensation of looking out of a circular window rather than into an eyepiece."

Tele Vue's Delos 6mm is a short focal length eyepiece that will deliver high power magnification. Importantly though it still achieves a generous 20mm eye-relief and wide 72° apparent field of view. Amazing in well corrected refractors with short to medium focal lengths. High powered views without the need for a Barlows or Powermate! The Delos 6mm provides 333x magnification in an 8" f/10 Schmidt Cassegrain making it an amazing eyepiece for high powered views (without going too far)!

Nagler Type 6
The 7-element, Nagler Type 6 design is based on the original patented Nagler design. This new 7-element design update for the short focal length Nagler deserves its own designation. Using different exotic materials, coating processes and design ingenuity, Al has massaged more eye-relief, contrast, and true field of view into the shorter focal length Naglers, while maintaining the absolute sharpness of the originals. Eye-relief is 12mm on each model, and all are sized about the same as the original 7mm! Weight about 0.4 to 0.5 lbs.
Concept: The goal we set designing these new eyepieces was to increase contrast, maintain or increase eye-relief, reduce size and weight, and maintain the sharpness of the originals. They are all parfocal and great with the Bino Vue.
Why Are There 4 Types of Naglers?
To achieve various features requires different design tradeoffs and thus the different types of Nagler eyepieces. The largest possible true fields of view for an 82°' apparent field of view in both 2" and 1¼" formats are achieved with the Nagler Type 5 series, with focal lengths of 31 and 16 mm
Compact size in medium to short focal lengths is achieved with the Nagler Type 6, available in focal lengths of 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, and 3.5 mm.
To achieve eyeglass friendly eye relief without excessively large and heavy designs requires the other two Nagler types. The 22mm Type 4 and 19, 14, 9, 5.5 mm Type 7 with their long eye relief feature adjustable height eyeguards and are best for eyeglass wearers or Dioptrx™ users.

Enjoy the most dazzling views of nebulae with your Celestron Origin when you add this H-alpha H-beta OIII (Hα-Hβ-OIII) imaging filter. This specialized filter allows high throughput of light wavelengths in emission nebulae while blocking other wavelengths that could diminish image quality and detail. The result is bright, colorful nebulae images that “pop” with detail against the black sky background.
How does the Nebula Filter for Origin work? Emission nebulae primarily emit at discrete wavelengths of light—Hα at 656nm, Hβ at 486nm, and OIII at 496/501nm. By strategically transmitting only these wavelengths of light and blocking the rest of the spectrum, the filter dramatically reduces the effect of light pollution. The “bad” light is blocked while the “good” light associated with emission nebulae passes through to Origin’s sensor.
You’ll immediately notice much higher contrast in your images, especially from your light-polluted backyard! And since the transmission at the critical wavelengths is so high, the nebula will not be dimmed—only the background will be blacker. You’ll also notice some contrast improvement in images of nebulae from darker skies, as the filter serves well in blocking natural skyglow.
Nebula Hunting
The Nebula Filter is perfect for imaging emission nebulae like the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), Lagoon Nebula (M8), Orion Nebula (M42), the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372), and dozens more. The imaging filter offers maximum light transmission in the key Hα-Hβ-OIII wavelengths, producing high contrast for emission nebulae like these.
The transmission spectrum for the Nebula Filter is 85% or greater at key wavelengths (486nm, 496nm/501nm, 656nm) and less than 0.5% transmission elsewhere. As a narrowband filter, it blocks much of the visible spectrum and only lets these specific wavelengths through. Because of this, you should not use this filter while observing or imaging broadband emission objects, such as galaxies and star clusters. For those objects, you’ll achieve the best results by removing the nebula filter and reinstalling Origin’s clear optical window.
Other similar imaging filters on the market have much narrower bandpasses at the critical Hα-Hβ-OIII wavelengths. Unfortunately, these filters block much of the incoming Hα-Hβ-OIII light for an f/2.2 optical system like Origin’s 6” RASA. This is because a RASA brings light into the filter at a steeper angle, which causes a spectral shift. If you use filters not explicitly designed for use at f/2.2, some of the light from the nebula will be blocked, resulting in a dimmer image. The Nebula Filter for Origin was custom-engineered to work at f/2.2, so none of the “good” light from the nebula is inadvertently blocked by the filter.
Body and Storage
The filter features a machined aluminum black anodized cell with a knurled rim for easy grip during installation. We’ve added anti-reflection coatings to help suppress reflections on the glass. The filter fits directly into the filter drawer in the Celestron Origin’s front lens cell, where the optical window sits. Simply remove the clear window and replace it with the filter. Origin maintains its optical performance across the entire system with the filter installed. No other adapter is needed.
Each filter comes with a foam-lined plastic storage case to safely store the filter or the optical window glass that came with your Celestron Origin when not in use.
Celestron tests every Nebula Filter for Origin individually to verify its performance. Along with your filter, you will receive a spectral transmission graph (like the one pictured above) showing the results of your filter’s test and verifying it performs as expected throughout the spectrum.
Please note this is for the Celestron Origin Intelligent Home Observatory

Dew is one of the many enemies of amateur astronomers. In a cold or humid environment, droplets and dew can form on the lens of telescopes and cameras, affecting both the quality of observation and photos.
Vespera’s anti-dew system will activate when a certain temperature and humidity threshold is reached. Heat generated continuously around the lens will remove the fog, creating better viewing conditions and sharper pictures.
It is ideal for people living in a humid region (sea, ocean, river, lakes, ponds, etc.) or in a region where temperatures are cold. The sensor is also great in winter when temperatures are close to 0° Celsius.
Anti-dew system
By equipping your station with this sensor, Vespera’s integral demister will activate when a certain temperature and humidity threshold is reached. Heat generated continuously around the lens will remove the dew, creating better viewing conditions and sharper pictures.
Improved focus
The condensation that produces dew or fogging affects the focus of Vespera’s photo sensor:
- Initialization and acquisition times may be longer because a larger number of photos will be rejected by our image processing algorithms, which check the quality of the images and discard them if they are not of sufficient quality.
- The sharpness of the pictures, which in astrophotography is mainly judged by the sharpness of the stars and the absence of any halo, is not as good.
The hygrometer and the associated demisting system will improve both your observation and your photos.
A discreet design
Measuring under 13mm, the hygrometer is equipped with an electronic board which is the smallest board our expert engineers have ever designed. The sensor fits discreetly into Vespera’s optical arm and is compatible with the use of filters. It will automatically turn the anti-fog system on and off, so you never have to worry about it.
Instructions for installation
The box comes with:
- the hygrometer and a screw ready to be fitted,
- a mini screwdriver.
Remove the standard Vespera lens ring and carefully insert the hygrometer into the notch above the lens. Screw the sensor in tightly using the screwdriver provided in the box. The sensor must not move in its housing.
To verify that the sensor is properly positioned, connect Vespera to your mobile device and launch the Singularity app. In the Space Center and then the Instrument screen, the ambient temperature and humidity are displayed.
Directions for use:
- Make sure Vespera is turned off before installing or removing the hygrometer.
- You do not need to remove the sensor on each use. We recommended leaving it in your Vespera to avoid any loss or damage.
- Activating the demisting system results in higher battery consumption. We recommend you charge your station before using it.
Dew also occurs during large temperature changes, for example in winter, when you move from a warm to a cold environment and the air inside your Vespera has remained warm. We therefore recommend that you take your Vespera outside for at least 30 minutes before starting any observations so that it can adjust to the ambient temperature.

Introduced at the 2007 Northeast Astronomy Forum, Tele Vue once again broadened the amateur astronomer's perspective on the universe with: 100° of pure Tele Vue quality. The field area of this new eyepiece is more than 50% larger than an 82° field. The Tele Vue Ethos 17mm is essentially multiple eyepieces, delivering the true field size of a longer focal length, narrower apparent field eyepiece with the benefits of higher power and darker sky background.
We invited NEAF attendees to take a look and see the universe the way we think it was meant to be experienced, with a field of view incredibly wide and sharp! We were very pleased indeed by the response and validation of our design goals.
The Tele Vue ETHOS 17mm is an ideal complement to the 31mm Nagler Type-5. They are parfocal (both have focus locations about 10mm above shoulder) and the 31mm Nagler Type-5 has exactly twice the true field area.

Low Read Noise, High Dynamic Range
The camera has a built-in HCG mode, which can effectively reduce readout noise at high gain and allow the camera to maintain the same high dynamic range as it does at low gain. When the gain is 252, the HCG mode is automatically turned on and the Dynamic range reaches a level close to 12bit.The readout noise is as low as 0.7e.
QE
Based on ZWO Laboratory calculations, the peak quantum efficiency of ASI585MC Air is 91%
Data source: This data is from ZWO Laboratory. The actual quantum efficiency peak value is subject to real-world data.
Cooling System
Thanks to the two-stage TEC cooling, ASI585MC Air can lower the CMOS sensor temperature to 30-35 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature, which can greatly reduce dark current generation and sensor noise even during extended exposure times.

Farpoint Laser Collimator 650nm (1.25 inch )
All Farpoint laser collimators have a LIFE TIME Alignment Guarantee. We will realign any Farpoint laser collimator for free! But Farpoint lasers keep their factory alignment. This is due to our robust laser body and (most importantly) our unique alignment screw design explained below.
Farpoint lasers have EIGHT alignment screws instead of six, four, or even three as in some other lasers. Instead of a staggered arrangement (top hole, bottom hole, top hole) that can allow the diode to move, BOTH ends of the laser diode are held in place by two sets of directly opposing screws for precise and lasting alignment. Again, only Farpoint lasers have this superior alignment screw arrangement with four DIRECTLY OPPOSING screws aligning the top of the laser diode and another four DIRECTLY OPPOSING screws aligning the bottom of the laser diode.
Farpoint laser bodies are precisely machined from a single piece of aluminum in a single machining step, resulting in perfect alignment.
Farpoint lasers have a small aperture (0.76mm or 30/1000 of an inch) for less speckling and more precise reading of the laser beam’s position on the telescope mirror. Farpoint has the smallest aperture of any laser in the amateur astronomy market.

Tele Vue Ethos 8mm
The Tele Vue Ethos 8mm was first demonstrated at NEAF in 2008. In addition to matching all the key performance criteria of its 13mm sibling, the new 8mm version is parfocal in 1¼" focusers with Radians, Plössls, Type 6 Naglers and 1¼" Panoptics.
Its lighter weight and smaller diameter than the 13mm Ethos makes the 8mm suitable for anyone using a binocular viewer. A perfect eyepiece for terrestrial viewing with a short refractor. Comparing an 8mm Ethos to an 8–24mm Zoom eyepiece, the 8mm Ethos has the power of the 8mm Zoom and 83% of the field of the 24mm setting!
Tele Vue is still the leader in high performance, wide angle eyepieces for astronomy. There will always be cheap imitators, but astronomers the world over agree Tele Vue eyepieces are simply the best. One look is all it takes...come and see for yourself!
Tele Vue is known for its in-house eyepiece and telescope designs by Al Nagler; the development of the Ethos series brought new meaning to the term "in-house." The concept for this eyepiece series was proposed by Tele Vue President David Nagler, with performance parameters giving it the fundamental characteristics (the ethos) of a Tele Vue eyepiece: high contrast, comfortable eye relief and full field sharpness. Control of astigmatism, field curvature, lateral colour, angular magnification distortion correction, and low pupil sensitivity for daytime use were specified criteria.
Following Tele Vue's philosophy of pushing the state of the art, long-time Tele Vue employee and optical design protégé Paul Dellechiaie took up the challenge and designed the basic eyepiece form. Under Al's guidance, Paul tweaked his design to fulfill the original goals.
While sharpness is inherent to the optical design, contrast is maximized through the intelligent use of flat finished baffles and ultra low reflectance, high efficiency coatings tuned to the composition of each element.
Introduced at the 2007 Northeast Astronomy Forum, Tele Vue once again broadened the amateur astronomer's perspective on the universe with: 100° of pure Tele Vue quality. The field area of this new eyepiece is more than 50% larger than an 82° field. The Tele Vue Ethos is essentially multiple eyepieces, delivering the true field size of a longer focal length, narrower apparent field eyepiece with the benefits of higher power and darker sky background.

The Tele Vue EBX-2120 2" Eyepiece Barrel Extender increases backfocus distance and provides a mounting location for 2" (48mm) eyepiece filters. It can also help parfocalize eyepiece sets. Extender adds 1.2-inches to the 2" barrel.
Models with dual 2" / 1¼" barrels can use the extender.
The EBX-2120 makes the 12mm approximately parfocal with the 17mm and 22mm Nagler Type-4 eyepieces when used in a Tele Vue 2" diagonal.
Because the field stop is located near the bottom of the chrome eyepiece barrel, you will need to rack your focuser out further, relative to most other eyepieces. If you find that you cannot rack your focuser out enough to achieve focus, Tele Vue strongly recommend you purchase the EBX-2120. This will make Tele Vue's 55mm Plössl eyepiece approximately parfocal with the Tele Vue 27mm Panoptic eyepiece.

Tele Vue's Delos 12mm is a medium focal length eyepiece that creates an "immersive viewing experience". With its generous 20mm eye-relief and wide 72° apparent field of view you will be hard pressed to find another eyepiece that is such a pleasure to look through. Amazing wide fields of view in well corrected refractors with short to medium focal lengths (over 1° FOV up to 800mm focal length). While some of the shorter focal length Delos eyepieces may provide too much power in long focal length Cassegrains, the Delos 12mm is suitable for any focal length telescope.
The Delos 12mm has a 1.25" barrel making it suitable for almost any telescope or even bino-viewers!
Tele Vue Delos 12mm - Specifications
- Model # EDL-12.0
- Focal Length 12mm
- Barrel Size 1.25"
- Apparent Field of View 72°
- Eye Relief 20mm
- Weight 408g
- Field Stop 15.0mm

Sky & Telescope Hot New Product for 2012 Award

Tele Vue's Delos 8mm is a short to mid focal length eyepiece that will deliver useful magnification in almost any telescope. With a generous 20mm eye-relief and wide 72° apparent field of view the views will astound. Wide fields of view in telescopes with short to medium focal lengths (almost 1° in 600mm focal length telescopes). Mid to high powered views without the need for a Barlows or Powermate in Cassegrain telescopes! The Delos 8mm would be a worth investment for just about any telescope
