The QHY5III715C is an ultra-high resolution back-illuminated color camera with extremely low read noise. The sensor has a 1/2.8-inch optical format, similar to the QHY5III462C. However, the QHY5III715C has 4X as many pixels as the QHY5III462C for 4K resolution with 1.45um pixels.

This makes the new QHY5III715C ideal for smaller short focal length refractors. The exceptionally small pixels subtend a FOV of less than 1 arcsecond at focal lengths of 12 inches (300mm) or longer. Extended Near Infrared Sensitivity

In this latest generation of sensors, the photodiode portion of the pixel well is physically deeper than in previous sensors, allowing photons of longer wavelengths to penetrate deeper into the substrate. This dramatically increases the sensor’s sensitivity to red and near-infrared (NIR) light. The sensor displays almost equal peak sensitivity to NIR light as it does to light in the visible spectrum.

Celestron Dew-Shield C14 is designed to fit on the front end of the telescope to reduce the amount of dew that builds up on the corrector plate.

True Astrograph Quality
Many optical designs that advertise themselves as "astrographs" actually only produce pinpoint stars across a curved focal plane. While this may be acceptable for some visual observing, stars will appear out of focus at the edge when used with the flat chip sensor of a digital camera. EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane more than three-times flatter than a standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and dramatically flatter than competing coma-free designs. Mechanical Features

• Mirror clutches - Flexible tension clutches hold the mirror in place and reduce image shift when taking long exposure astro-images. High-Quality Altazimuth Base

Teflon bearings provide smooth motion in both altitude and azimuth. StarSense Explorer uses patented technology and your smartphone to determine exactly where the telescope is pointed in the night sky. A Lost in Space Algorithm (LISA), like the ones satellites use in orbit to correctly orient themselves, helps the app match star patterns it detects overhead to its internal database.

While other astronomy apps may claim that they can help you find objects, they rely exclusively on the phone's gyros and accelerometers, which aren't as accurate as LISA technology. No other app can accurately tell you when your target is visible in the eyepiece.
