Introducing the ASI676MC, the all-sky camera featuring a unique square
1/1.6-inch image sensor and a super high resolution of 12MP! It is perfectly suited for meteor recording and full sky surveillance. The
square format facilitates easier composition, making mosaic stitch simpler and more efficient, and the high resolution brings you clear details of the Sun and our Moon. With this camera, you may start your marvelous journey
to explore the boundless night sky.
Why Square Format?
One of the biggest benefits of AS1676MC's square format is it makes the whole mosaic construction process much easier by eliminating the need to consider the difference between the long and wide
sides of the format during mosaic stitching. Not only that, the square format also makes the AS1676MC more compatible with various types of lenses such as fisheye lenses and wide-angle lenses. Thus,
ASI676MC is more suitable for tasks such as meteor
recording and full sky surveillance.
Starvis 2 Technology
STARVIS is a sensor technology developed by Sony that surpasses the sensitivity of the human eye. STARVIS 2 is an advancement of STARVIS technology,
supporting an even higher dynamic range. With this technology, ASI676MC exhibits lower readout noise and dark current, along with significantly enhanced
sensitivity in the near-infrared spectrum.
No Amp Glow
AS1676MC does not have any amp glow, no matter
how long the exposure and how high the gain value
you set.
256MB DDR3
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3
cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission.
Higher QE Lower Readout Noise
The camera has a built-in HCG mode, which can effectively reduce readout noise at high gain. This allows the camera to maintain the same high dynamic range as it does at low gain. When the gain is 180, the HCG mode is automatically turned on. The readout noise is as low as 0.56e, and the dynamic range can still reach a level close to 11stops.
Quantum Efficiency
The QE curve and readout noise are very important parameters to measure the camera's performance. Higher QE and lower readout noise are necessary to improve the image signal-to-noise ratio. According to our estimation, the QE peak value of ASl676MC is about 83%.
Dark Current Noise
The ASI676MC's lower dark current noise means that the image signal-to-noise ratio is also higher, especially when photographing dark objects, it produces images with better sharpness.
IR-Cut Coated Window
ASI676MC is equipped with an IR-cut coated window in front of the sensor, with a diameter of 21mm and a thickness of 1.1mm. It effectively reduces infrared interference and improves image quality.
The saxon 8" DeepSky CT Dobsonian Telescope (203/1200) features a powerhouse telescope with amazing light-gathering capabilities that's easy to use and transport.
This beginner telescope is the retractable twin to the full-tube saxon 8" DeepSky Dobsonian Telescope and comes with the same specs of 203mm aperture and a focal length of 1200mm. Featuring a collapsible truss-tube dobsonian design, the optical tube can be retracted into a shorter length and locked down to ensure secure and easy transportation. This scope also comes with a paraboloidal primary mirror to eliminate spherical aberration allowing you to see wide-field views of the Moon, constellations and deep sky objects such as the Great Orion Nebula.
Assembly of the telescope requires no additional tools. You'll be pleased with how easy it is to use the saxon 8" DeepSky Collapsible Dobsonian Telescope with its Dobsonian mount. Simply swivel the telescope to the direction of your intended object and look through the eyepiece. This scope's Teflon bearing system in both axes with tension control handle means you'll be able to smoothly move your telescope to a precise location.
What is a Dobsonian telescope and why the tension control handle?
A simple, elegant form of an alt-azimuth mount made to carry a Newtonian reflector was popularized by John Dobson in the late 1970's. The Dobsonian mounted telescope is popular among amateur astronomers and telescope makers because of its simplicity. In its simplest form, the Dobsonian mount consists of a box which allows the optical tube assembly to pivot in altitude, while the box itself is swivelled on a base in azimuth.
The Dobsonian mount usually relies on the friction between the side bearings on the optical tube of the telescope and a frictional material on the saddle to hold the optical tube in place. If there is too much friction, the telescope is difficult to move to center an object in the filed of view. If there is too little friction, the telescope will not sty where it is positioned. This makes stabilizing the optical tube of the telescope difficult when using a Dobsonian mount, especially when accessories, such as a finderscope or an eyepiece, are added to the optical tube. As long as the amount of friction is at an appropriate level, and therefore stabilization of the optical tube is achieved, the telescope can remain in its desired position to view an object and maintain its position even when the mount is rotated.
The devices for stabilizing a telescope on the Dobsonian mount currently available include: a sliceable weight to counter balance the weight of the telescope, a friction lock that must be adjusted to inhibit movement of the telescope, and a spring attached between the telescope tube and mount to aid in stabilization.
These devices are inconvenient to use because they do not provide a simple and user-friendly way to adjust the friction. The objective of the saxon Tension Control Handle invention is to provide a tension adjuster that users can easily turn to add or reduce tension, thereby increasing or decreasing the friction between the optical tube and the sideboard of the mount.
By providing such a tension adjuster, the telescope does not need to be balanced in order to stay in position. The tension adjuster can be tightened such that the optical tube can stay in a position but can still be moved when prompted to adjust the position of the optical tube. Alternatively, the tension adjuster can be completely tightened to lock the optical tube in position.

45.1fps (10bit, high speed mode). ST4 Port: Can be used to connect with the auto guide port of mount
for guiding
.
Readout Noise Readout noise includes pixel noise, circuit noise, and ADC quantization noise. The lower the readout noise, the better. As can be seen, the readout noise of ASI715MC is very low. As the gain value goes high, the readout noise goes down.
Quantum Efficiency The QE curve and readout noise are very important parameters to measure the camera's performance. Higher QE and lower readout
noise are necessary to improve the image signal-to-noise ratio. According to our estimation, the QE peak value of ASI715MC is about80%.

Optolong L-Pro 1.25 inch is multi-bandpass filter which offers better color balance by maximizing the transmission band. The balanced transmission allows astrophotos to be taken with minimal color cast to broadband emission objects such as galaxies, reflection nebulae and globular star clusters.
Warning - Do not use this filter for solar purposes !
Optolong L-Pro (L-Professional) filter is designed to improve the visibility of various deepsky objects. By selectively reducing the transmission of wavelengths of light pollutants, specifically those produced by artificial lightings including mercury vapor lamps, both high & low pressure sodium vapor lights and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. skyglow). Together with the highly transparent in main nebula emission lines at OIII(496nm and 500nm), H-beta (486nm), NII(654nm and 658nm), H-alpha(656nm) as well as SII(672nm), the filter is suitable for enhancing the contrast and details for both visual and photograghic purpose at sub-rural area with heavy light pollution.

The Astrozap AZ-116 Flexi-Shield® is a flexible dew shield designed to fit Celestron 6" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, with a notch to accommodate the side-mounted dovetail bar. It's an essential accessory for any SCT owner looking to extend observing sessions and protect image contrast.
Why you need a dew shield
Dew forms quickly on exposed corrector plates during cool Australian nights, cutting a session short. A dew shield slows dew formation by shielding the corrector from the cold night sky, while also blocking stray light from streetlamps and the Moon for noticeably sharper, higher-contrast views.
Key features
- Passive dew prevention that works without power or heaters
- Felt-lined interior absorbs moisture and suppresses internal reflections
- High-grade ABS polymer construction for durability in the field
- VELCRO® Brand fasteners with padded backing for a secure, non-marring fit
- Rolls up flat for easy transport to dark-sky sites and star parties
- Dovetail notch clears the Celestron finder shoe / side mounting rail
Compatible telescopes

TMB PlanetView Planetary Eyepieces:
The TMB PlanetView Planetary Eyepiece series is designed for high-magnification planetary and lunar observing, delivering sharp, high-contrast views with excellent eye comfort. Choosing the right focal length for your telescope typically provides a significant upgrade in magnification and fine detail compared to the stock eyepieces supplied with most telescopes, making planetary features clearer and easier to observe. Featuring a 5-element optical design and a wide 58° apparent field of view, these eyepieces offer a more immersive experience than traditional narrow-field planetary designs while maintaining the crisp detail needed for serious observing.
Fully multi-coated optics and internal baffling maximise light transmission and suppress stray reflections, improving contrast on subtle planetary features and fine lunar detail. The large eye lens and generous eye relief make these eyepieces comfortable to use, especially during long observing sessions or when wearing glasses.
Built with an all-metal housing and a fold-down rubber eyecup, TMB PlanetView eyepieces are robust, practical, and compatible with all standard 1.25" focusers and filters. They are also Bintel’s number one recommended first upgrade for most telescopes, offering one of the simplest and most noticeable improvements you can make to planetary and lunar performance.

Now well into its seventh decade of production, the Yearbook continues to be essential reading for anyone lured and fascinated by the magic of astronomy and who has a desire to extend their knowledge of the Universe and the wonders to which it plays host. The Yearbook of Astronomy is indeed an inspiration to amateur and professional astronomers alike, and warrants a place on the bookshelf of all stargazers and watchers of the skies.
AUTHOR:
Brian Jones developed a fascination for astronomy at the age of five when he first saw the stars through a pair of binoculars, and his interest took him into the realms of writing sky guides for local newspapers, appearing on local radio and television, teaching astronomy and space in schools and, in 1985, becoming a full time astronomy and space writer. As well as being editor of the Yearbook of Astronomy since the 2017 edition, Brian has penned around 20 books to date which have covered a wide range of astronomy- and space-related topics for both children and adults. His passion for bringing an appreciation of the universe to his readers is reflected in his writing. The minor planet 45689 Brianjones is named after him.

Reveal stunning detail in your deep-sky astrophotography with the Origin 678C—Celestron’s next-generation camera for the Origin Intelligent Home Observatory. Featuring Sony’s latest Starvis 2 CMOS technology, this high-performance camera delivers increased resolution and finer detail thanks to its smaller pixel size and enhanced sensitivity.
The Origin 678C Camera replaces the original Origin 178C Camera, giving you an upgrade in image quality. Whether you're imaging galaxies, nebulae, or star clusters, you'll capture more object detail in images that better fill your smartphone or tablet’s display screen.
It’s the perfect way to further enhance your Origin experience—and your astroimaging.
What’s New with the Origin 678C Camera
The Origin 678C Camera brings meaningful enhancements to your astrophotography experience. Here’s what you can expect:
-
Increased resolution
Although both sensors are the same physical size, the IMX678C uses smaller 2.0 μm² pixels than the 2.4 μm² pixels in the IMX178C. This results in a finer resolution of 1.2 arcseconds per pixel (down from 1.5 arcseconds per pixel), allowing you to resolve more detail and “zoom in” slightly more on celestial objects. This is especially beneficial since most night sky targets are relatively small. -
Larger file sizes
Because the IMX678C packs more effective pixels (8.4 MP vs. 6.4 MP), image files will be somewhat larger. As a result, you may notice slightly slower automatic image processing in the app, depending on the performance of your smartphone or tablet. -
Increased sensitivity
Despite having smaller pixels, the IMX678C is slightly more sensitive overall than the IMX178C. The improvement is subtle; images won’t appear dramatically brighter. -
Different ISO response
ISO values are not directly comparable between the two sensors. The IMX678C's default ISO is 1000, while the IMX178C’s is 200. -
Different aspect ratio
The IMX678C uses a 16:9 aspect ratio, compared to the 3:2 ratio of the IMX178C. This means your field of view will appear more rectangular, ideal for framing larger regions of the sky and perfectly matched to the landscape orientation of most smartphone and tablet displays—making it easier to compose, view, and share your images.
Quick and Simple Installation
Upgrading to the Origin 678C Camera is fast and hassle-free. Designed to integrate seamlessly with your Origin system, the camera installs without any complicated tools or processes. Simply remove the existing camera, attach the Origin 678C using the included adapter and retaining ring, and plug it in.
After you install the new camera, we’ll walk you through capturing new calibration frames. Dark frames reduce sensor noise, while flat frames correct for illumination variations across the image. The Origin app makes this process simple and intuitive—and you can follow along with our video, too.
For the easiest and most consistent results, we recommend the PrimaLuceLab GIOTTO for Celestron Origin— a flat-field generator custom-designed for Origin that works with the same smartphone you use to control Origin. Whether you use GIOTTO or the evening sky (i.e., “sky flats”), capturing new flat frames ensures your upgraded system is optimized and ready to deliver stunning, high-contrast astrophotography from your very next session.
Second Life for Your Origin-178C Camera
Upgrading to the Origin 678C doesn’t mean your original camera has to sit on the sidelines. The Origin-178C is a powerful tool, and now it’s free to be used with other telescopes you may own. With its standard M42 T-thread connection, it mounts easily to most optical systems and makes a great planetary or lunar imaging camera. In minutes, your 178C will be ready for a whole new role in your astrophotography toolbox.

Lack of a trusty USB3.1 Hub in astrophotography market, triggered us to develop the Pegasus Astro USB Control Hub which will be also able to switch ON/OFF each USB port.
We proudly present the Pegasus Astro USB Control Hub (in short UCH):
A SuperSpeed (SS), low power, switchable USB3.1 Gen1 hub and fully compliant with USB-IF’s USB 3.1 Gen1 specification . The Hub supports Hi-Speed (HS), Full Speed (FS) and Low Speed (LS). The new SuperSpeed hubs operate in parallel with the USB 2.0 controller, so 5 Gbps SuperSpeed data transfers are not affected by slower USB 2.0 traffic.
6 x USB3.1 Active Ports
USB Control Hub uch_3-2
The device has 6 x USB 3.1 Ports. All ports are backward compatible with USB 1.0 and USB 2.0 devices.
Each port can deliver up to 2.5Amps of current. There is a smart current limit sensor in every port which automatically limits or cuts power in case of a short-wire or power consumption that is above 2.5Amps.
Each port is monitored by the USB Controller and in case of a current limit, it triggers a warning pop up in the operating system.
Industrial grade temperature support
Most USB Hubs in the market (well…nearly all of them) operate under room temperatures as they were design to work inside your cosy warm room. This is one of the reasons why you experience USB disconnects and instability during a cold night.
Our product is certified to work flawlessly from −40°C to +85°C. All USB Hub electronics has been selected to support Industrial grade temperature ranges.
Aluminium Enclosure
A high quality robust, blue anodised aluminium enclosure houses the electronics of the USB Hub. The metal enclosure designed and tested to survive ±5kV ESD strikes
Switchable USB Ports
Each USB port can be controlled and switched ON/OFF by our standalone software. (power + data). You are going to love this feature. No more pull out and re-plug USB cables of your equipment.
12V DC Operation
The 12V DC operation was our first design requirement. As most of your astro-equipment requires 12V DC why to use something different? Hub accepts 12-14V of operation. This means that you can plug unregulated 12V power from a battery.
Expansion Port (EXT)

Farpoint Lift Carry Straps for GSO 12 Inch Dobs
These Lifting Straps make it easy to install or remove your OTA from the Base of your Bintel Dobsonian or most other Dobsonian telescopes with a 14″ diameter solid tube OTA. Sold as a pair, these two straps wrap around your OTA and secure with Velcro.
The built-in handle makes for a sure grip.
Placing the straps above and below the altitude bearings makes your OTA much easier to lift and maneuver.

Compact brilliance. Full NL Pure quality.
The NL Pure 8×32 delivers more scene than any other 32mm binocular on the market. A 150-metre field of view, 92% light transmission, and edge-to-edge sharpness from a precision instrument handmade in Austria.
The world, exactly as it is. Every colour true, every edge sharp, from first light to last.
The widest view in its class
At 150 metres per 1,000 metres — an 8.5° real field of view — the NL Pure 8×32 shows you more of the world than any comparable 32mm binocular. A bird at the tree line, a whale sounding offshore, an alpine ridge at first light: more scene, more context, more moment.
Light the eye can use
SWAROBRIGHT HD multi-layer coating on every optical surface achieves 92% total light transmission. Not a headline figure — it is the difference between dawn detail and a grey silhouette, colour and nothing, a flush and a miss.
Edge-to-edge sharpness. Not just centre sharpness.
Swarovski Optik's patented FieldFlattener lenses correct field curvature across the entire image circle. The result is a flat, uniformly sharp field all the way to the edge — not just the centre sweet spot. When a bird crosses the frame, it stays in focus.
Full field view for spectacle wearers — no compromise to the optical experience.
Repels everything
Hydrophobic and oleophobic outer lens coating. Water beads off. Fingerprints wipe clean in one pass. Rain does not stop the session.
Nitrogen-purged and submersible to 4 metres. Safe in rain, spray, and accidental immersion.
Crafted at source
Every NL Pure is assembled by hand in Absam, Austria — home of Swarovski Optik since 1949.
The forehead rest. A genuinely new idea.
The NL Pure's forehead rest sits above the eyecups and lets you brace the binocular against your brow, significantly reducing hand tremor and fatigue during extended viewing. A small structural detail that changes every long session in the field. Patented by Swarovski Optik.
Go lighter. See more.
The NL Pure 8×32 is the binocular for the observer who wants world-class optics without the weight. 640g. Compact enough for a jacket pocket. Ready for every outing.
Focus as close as 2 metres. Every detail of a perched bird, an insect on a stem, or a wildflower in reach.
FSB functional bag
Ships with Swarovski Optik's FSB functional sidebag and UCS universal comfort strap — purpose-engineered for the field.
Every NL Pure carries Swarovski Optik's 30-year guarantee. An instrument for life.
Everything considered. Nothing overlooked.

Farpoint Laser Collimator 635nm (2-1.25 inch)
All Farpoint laser collimators have a LIFE TIME Alignment Guarantee. We will realign any Farpoint laser collimator for free! But Farpoint lasers keep their factory alignment. This is due to our robust laser body and (most importantly) our unique alignment screw design explained below.
Farpoint lasers have EIGHT alignment screws instead of six, four, or even three as in some other lasers. Instead of a staggered arrangement (top hole, bottom hole, top hole) that can allow the diode to move, BOTH ends of the laser diode are held in place by two sets of directly opposing screws for precise and lasting alignment. Again, only Farpoint lasers have this superior alignment screw arrangement with four DIRECTLY OPPOSING screws aligning the top of the laser diode and another four DIRECTLY OPPOSING screws aligning the bottom of the laser diode.
Farpoint laser bodies are precisely machined from a single piece of aluminum in a single machining step, resulting in perfect alignment.
Farpoint lasers have a small aperture (0.76mm or 30/1000 of an inch) for less speckling and more precise reading of the laser beam’s position on the telescope mirror. Farpoint has the smallest aperture of any laser in the amateur astronomy market.
