The Atik EFW3 2" 7 Position electronic filter wheel for large format cameras can be ordered with the ability to either carry up to 7 × 2” mounted round filters, housing LRGB and Ha, OIII and SII filter sets in the same carousel and the wheel is fully compatible with any Atik astrophotography camera when using the supplied M54 or M42 adaptors.
7 Position Electronic Filter Wheel for Large Format Cameras
The Atik EFW3 2"gives you more freedom and convenience to your imaging set up.
For a large format wheel, the EFW3 boasts a slim, lightweight design. It measures 238×213mm dimensions and weighs in at just approx. 850g. This is great news for large format set ups where weight can be a real concern. That said, the wheel is fully compatible with any Atik camera when using the supplied M54 or M42 adaptors. We’ve simplified the technical side of the design from the EFW2 to further improve reliability and minimise component wear and tear. However, it's still machined from solid aluminium to produce a durable and quality wheel that will keep turning, night after night.
Atik 16200 users will also be pleased to know that the EFW3 can either be attached directly to the camera as it is, or after removing the front plate to further minimise any backfocus requirements. With the front plate attached, the backfocus is 41.5mm, while the backfocus with the front plate removed is just 34.5mm.
On the software side of things, the EFW3 has a full ASCOM driver, so any complaint software can be used to control it. Additionally the EFW3 can be controlled using our Artemis Capture software, for simple and efficient operation

Concept The Nagler Type 7 series was developed as a natural extension of our highly regarded, 85°, limited edition Apollo 11 eyepiece. However, the series can also be thought of as an extension of the long eye relief Nagler Type 4 concept. With the all-new Type 7 design layout, we achieved our goal of Apollo 11-like performance across a series of focal lengths that are eyeglass friendly.
Design Goals The design goal was simple. The performance of each of the Type 7 focal lengths must equal or exceed that of the Apollo 11 eyepiece in the areas of full-field sharpness, contrast, distortion correction, eye relief, and pupil comfort, but across an 82° apparent field of view instead of 85°.
Design Details If you have been waiting for a Nagler series for eyeglass wearers, the Type 7 is it. Combining the expansive 82° apparent field of view with 19 mm of eyeglass friendly eye relief, and large eyelens, the Nagler Type 7s give a new dimension to the "spacewalk" viewing effect. An easily adjustable, locking eye-guard is included for those who don't wear eyeglasses. It helps to correctly position your eye to the exit pupil so you don't get too close to the eyelens, as well as blocks contrast-robbing stray light from interfering with the view. Speaking of which, of course we've applied all the optical coating and baffling features Tele Vue eyepieces are known to maximize contrast and complement the fully corrected field; revealing beautifully natural star colors with pinpoint sharpness. The optical layout affords unrivalled parfocality throughout the four focal lengths and even between 1¼" and 2" modes when used with the Tele Vue Hi-Hat 1¼" and 2" adapter (ASF-8125). The Type 7 series is also parfocal with all other 1¼" Tele Vue eyepieces (except 40 mm Plössl) when those eyepieces are used in the Tele Vue Hi-Hat 1¼" and 2" adapter (ASF-8125). Available in focal lengths of 5.5, 9, 14, and 19-mm, the Type 7s complement the 22-mm Type 4 and 31 mm Type 5 as eyeglass friendly Naglers.
The Nagler Type 7 models all weight 19 to 21 oz / 540 to 590 gm.
Why Are There 4 Types of Naglers?
To achieve various features requires different design tradeoffs and thus the different types of Nagler eyepieces. The largest possible true fields of view for an 82°' apparent field of view in both 2" and 1¼" formats are achieved with the Nagler Type 5 series, with focal lengths of 31 and 16 mm
Compact size in medium to short focal lengths is achieved with the Nagler Type 6, available in focal lengths of 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, and 3.5 mm.
To achieve eyeglass friendly eye relief without excessively large and heavy designs requires the other two Nagler types. The 22mm Type 4 and 19, 14, 9, 5.5 mm Type 7 with their long eye relief feature adjustable height eyeguards and are best for eyeglass wearers or Dioptrx™ users.

In two decades, much has changed beyond recognition. Sensors are now back-illuminated CMOS with native 16-bit digitisation. QE is an amazing 90% and readout is a speedy 120 million pixels per second over USB3, a performance that once was unimaginable. What is maintained by QSI’s newest cameras is the integrated design, attention to detail, and bulletproof reliability.
In the design of the 700 series we have taken our best technology. Filterwheels are mechanically indexed to ensure the most precise location for perfect flat fields. The fused silica window is dew resistant and is coated on both sides with high transmission anti-reflective coating to minimise halos. The cameras use a highly efficient 2-stage Peltier cooler that draws less current and delivers more cooling than some other cameras.
The QSI 726 is the optimum camera for most amateur telescopes. The
28mm diagonal IMX571 maximises the sharpest parts of a telescope’s
image and is less affected by coma and vignetting than larger sensors.
As with its bigger brother the 760, cable clutter is reduced thanks to
the integrated filter wheel (36mm), 2 USB2 in sockets and power out.
Power sockets have threaded connections for maximum reliability.

The All NEW iOptron CEM120EC2
An extraordinary innovation in mount design...Now with a new payload!
Recognizing the growing demand for an accurate and stable, equatorial mount with the versatility to carry larger instruments and more complex imaging arrays, we created the iOptron CEM120EC2. It offers the benefits of our revolutionary “center balance” design: stability, accuracy, and smooth mechanical operation, while capable of carrying a payload up to 52 kg. The “center balance” design’s natural stability is due to its focusing the mount along with payloads weight directly over the center of the pier or tripod. Along with the stability aspect, the CEM120 features an advanced cable management system consisting of more ports in more locations preventing tangle ups and reducing the chance of fractured cables. They also add some new features to the CEM family like Wi-Fi and LAN for remote operation and easy to use, reliable clutches on both axes.
The CEM120EC2 utilizes two high resolution encoders, one on each axis. The two encoders enable the mount to perform dual axes tracking. With advanced sky modeling the CEM120EC2 will be able to account and adjust for polar alignment error as well as changes in atmospheric (refractive) distortion. Fixed home sensors on each axis, allow the mount to save alignment models after power off too to be used on future nights.

PlaneWave L350 Direct Drive Mount
The L-Series combines versatility, simplicity and affordability by combining all the technology of our Observatory class telescopes into a compact stand-alone mount. In its Alt/Az configuration it is considerably more compact than its equatorial counterpart, allowing a larger telescope to fit in a smaller enclosure. Unlike German Equatorial mounts, there are no meridian flips to deal with, and no large protruding counterweights to create a dangerous hazard in a public observatory. Alt/Az is more intuitive to use and no polar alignment is needed. Besides, it is the way the pros do it!
L-Series Mounts Features:
- Direct-drive motors on each axis for smooth, fast, and virtually silent movement of the telescope
- Slew speeds up to 50 degrees per second
- High resolution encoders on each axis for precise positioning
- Zero backlash
- Zero periodic error
- PointXP mount modeling software
- Enclosed electronics
- Through the mount cabling
FEATURES:
| Direct drive motors and encoders | Direct Drive motors and on-axis encoders eliminate the need for gears, thereby eliminating backlash and periodic error. With high-resolution encoders providing the feedback for the direct drive motors, not only will the telescope track without periodic error and backlash, the mount will also counter wind gusts with precise servo feedback. | |
| Incredible Slew Speed | The direct drive motors can move the telescope at speeds up to 50 degrees per second for tracking satellites or just to minimize target acquisition time. | |
| Dual mounting bracket | PlaneWave style mounting bracket to hold CDK17/20 onto inside of fork arm with additional option of mounting a scope on the outside of the fork arm. Optional dovetail clamp required. | |
| Azimuth balance system | For precise center of gravity balance whether in Alt-Az or Equatorial configuration | |
| Through the mount cabling | Access panels in the fork arm and azimuth axis allow for camera equipment cabling through the inside of the mount. | |
| Proven CDK700/PW1000 Technology | The L-Series uses the same proven technology as the CDK700 and 1-Meter PW1000 which are being used in Universities round the world. |

Sony EXview HAD CCD II ICX825 sensor - Super Sensitive
The fact that you're reading this this shows you've made it past the most common trap in choosing a camera for astroimaging - how many megapixels is it?
There are 2 variables in your camera that are far more important to consider when imaging faint deep sky objects. Sensitivity and noise.
The sensitivity tells us how many precious photons will be converted to signal...this is were the Sony ICX825 shines! But how much more sensitive is it? Compared with Atik's previous 314L+ at 650nm, the 414EX is 60% more sensitive. In fact, the 414EX is even more sensitive than the already spectacular 460EX, making it the perfect camera for the enthusiast with a limited budget. The graph below shows the striking difference between the ICX285 and ICX825:
Low noise and effective cooling
Atik's 414EX has more than just great sensitivity.
Another feature of the 414EXmaking it a winner for astrophotography is it's exceptionally low noise. When capturing a stunning portrait of your favourite deep sky target you will understand how delicately faint it is. This means the data you wish to capture is sparse.
If the electronics of the camera add noise (unwanted signal) to your image the end result will be lacking in detail and contrast. To ensure the contribution from noise is minimised Atik's 414EX has thermoelectric cooling that can easily lower the CCD chip to 30ºC below ambient, and is regulated, so that your image calibration is consistent. This results in a noise level so low that for most applications dark frames are an option rather than a requirement. The upshot is that you can spend more time imaging!

The Saxon 12" DeepSky Dobsonian Telescope requires no additional tools during assembly and is incredibly easy to use, making it the perfect scope for beginner astronomers.
What is Dobsonian Telescope and Why the Tension Control Handle?
A simple, elegant form of an alt-azimuth mount made to carry a Newtonian reflector was popularized by John Dobson in the late 1970's. The Dobsonian mounted telescope is popular among amateur astronomers and telescope makers because of its simplicity. In its simplest form, the Dobsonian mount consists of a box which allows the optical tube assembly to pivot in altitude, while the box itself is swivelled on a base in azimuth.
The Dobsonian mount usually relies on the friction between the side bearings on the optical tube of the telescope and a frictional material on the saddle to hold the optical tube in place. If there is too much friction, the telescope is difficult to move to center an object in the filed of view. If there is too little friction, the telescope will not sty where it is positioned. This makes stabilizing the optical tube of the telescope difficult when using a Dobsonian mount, especially when accessories, such as a finderscope or an eyepiece, are added to the optical tube. As long as the amount of friction is at an appropriate level, and therefore stabilization of the optical tube is achieved, the telescope can remain in its desired position to view an object and maintain its position even when the mount is rotated.
The devices for stabilizing a telescope on the Dobsonian mount currently available include: a sliceable weight to counter balance the weight of the telescope, a friction lock that must be adjusted to inhibit movement of the telescope, and a spring attached between the telescope tube and mount to aid in stabilization.
These devices are inconvenient to use because they do not provide a simple and user-friendly way to adjust the friction. The objective of the saxon Tension Control Handle invention is to provide a tension adjuster that users can easily turn to add or reduce tension, thereby increasing or decreasing the friction between the optical tube and the sideboard of the mount.
By providing such a tension adjuster, the telescope does not need to be balanced in order to stay in position. The tension adjuster can be tightened such that the optical tube can stay in a position but can still be moved when prompted to adjust the position of the optical tube. Alternatively, the tension adjuster can be completely tightened to lock the optical tube in position.

Benefits of Strainwave Designs
The Sky-Watcher 100i is a strain wave design, commonly referred to as a harmonic drive. These types of mount mechanics come packed with a number of advantages for astrophotography, including very accurate precision tracking which is ideal for longer exposure imaging, zero backlash and smoother motion for stable tracking, compact designs for easier transport and a relatively high payload to weight ratio to accommodate a much wider range of equipment.
10kg Payload Capacity
The Sky-Watcher Wave 100i weighs only 4.3kg, yet it can handle a payload capacity of 10kg without counterweights and up to 15kg with a counterweight.
Tripod
There's a number of tripod options for the Sky-Watcher Wave 100i mount. We highly recommend the Benro Fibre Mach3 Tripod - this $549 tripod is lightweight and very stable.
Transmission R>Tatio of 300:1 Ensures Smooth Slewing and Tracking
The Wave 100i has a transmission ratio of 300:1, resulting in a high level of tracking and slewing accuracy since motor torque and rotation is divided into smaller increments, lessening any impact of jolts between rotations that could be apparent the longer exposures become. The maximum slew rate of the 100i is 2400x (10° per second).
Works at any Latitude
The Sky-Watcher Wave 100i has a working latitude range of 0° to 90°, meaning it can be operated successfully at any latitude and doesn’t suffer from limitations on more traditional gear mounts with counterweight obstruction and zenith out of range.
Supports Multiple Tracking
The Wave 100i supports sidereal, lunar and solar tracking. This means it can be reliably used for night-time astrophotography, moon capture and stunning solar imaging!
