The Celestron PowerSeeker Accessory Kit is a great way to expand the enjoyment of your telescope. Inside the plastic, foam-lined carry case you’ll find these accessories:
- 15mm Kellner Eyepiece - 1.25”
- 9mm Kellner Eyepiece - 1.25”
- #80A Blue Filter - 1.25”
- #25 Red Filter - 1.25”
- Moon Filter - 1.25”
- Microfiber Cleaning Cloth
Eyepieces - The 15mm and 9mm eyepieces can be used in any telescope with a 1.25” focuser. Each eyepiece is fully coated to improve light transmission and protect the optics. The 15mm Kellner eyepiece offers a nice medium magnification view in most telescopes, and the 9mm provides high magnifications, great for the Moon and planets, especially when seeing conditions are good.
Filters - Coloured filters can be used to bring out certain details on a planet’s surface or its cloud structure. Both planetary filters, as well as the Moon filter, can be used on any 1.25” eyepiece with the proper filter threads, so they are very versatile. Just screw one onto your eyepiece of choice and slide it into the focuser.
- The #80A is a medium-blue filter that enhances the contrast of the cloud belts on Jupiter and the polar ice caps on Saturn. It also can be used to increase contrast on the Moon if you don’t mind the color shift.
- The #25 filter is a deep red color and is a good choice when you want to define the polar ice caps on Mars. It’s also fun to use this filter when observing Jupiter. The #25 Red filter blocks quite a bit of light coming through your telescope, however, so it is best used on bright objects with larger aperture telescopes.
- The Moon filter is one of the first accessories most new amateur astronomers buy, and for good reason! It helps block out a portion of the light the Moon sends into your eyepiece so that you can see details better. You can also try this filter on Venus; it helps you see which phase she’s in.
Cleaning Cloth & Case - Keep the microfiber cleaning cloth stashed in your PowerSeeker Accessory Kit case so that it will always be handy. It’s better to use a microfiber cloth on your optics than wipes or tissue, as it will not leave a residue, and can be reused. Remember to blow or brush any dust particles off of your optics before rubbing them with the cloth.
The black plastic carry case has die-cut foam inside to protect and cushion your accessories. Keep each one in its appointed place when not in use and you’ll keep them looking and performing like new.

Star Analyser 200
Since its launch in 2005, the Star Analyser 100 has introduced thousands of amateur astronomers worldwide to the fascinating field of spectroscopy. Over this period, the equipment used by amateurs has evolved with larger aperture telescopes, bigger camera sensors and close coupled filter wheels becoming more common. The Star Analyser 200 model has been developed with these users in mind.
Using the same Paton Hawksley high efficiency blazed diffraction grating technology as the SA100, but with double the line density. The SA200 is designed for applications where it is difficult to achieve the optimum spacing needed for the SA100. The SA200 gives the same length of spectrum at half the spacing compared with the SA100.
Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 OTA
See the Universe in HD
EdgeHD is an aplanatic, flat field Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that produces aberration-free images across a wide visual and photographic field of view. The optical system was designed to reduce more than just off-axis star coma; it also provides an astrograph-quality flat focal plane all the way to the edge of the field of view.
True Astrograph Quality
Many optical designs that advertise themselves as "astrographs" actually only produce pinpoint stars across a curved focal plane. While this may be acceptable for some visual observing, stars will appear out of focus at the edge when used with the flat chip sensor of a digital camera. EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane more than three-times flatter than a standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and dramatically flatter than competing coma-free designs. This guarantees you visibly sharp stars across some of the largest CCD chips available today.
Improved Performance
Superior edge performance not only creates rounder, more pleasing stars, but actually improves the resolution and limiting magnitude when compared to telescopes of equal aperture. With Celestron’s StarBright XLT optical coatings on every surface, EdgeHD optics gives you maximum light throughput across the widest visual and photographic spectrum.
Mechanical Features
In addition to EdgeHD’s optimized optical design, the telescope tube has been redesigned to make sure you get the most from your optics each and every night.
- Mirror clutches - Flexible tension clutches hold the mirror in place and reduce image shift when taking long exposure astro-images. Once focused, the flexible rods allow the mirror to be held in place without putting any force or pressure on the mirror assembly, keeping the image centered in the eyepiece (or on the sensor).
- Tube vents - Cooling vents located on the rear cell allow hot air to be released from behind the primary mirror. Each vent has an integrated 95-micron micromesh filter guaranteed to let warm air out without letting dust in.
- Fastar versatility - EdgeHD is the most versatile imaging telescope available today. At its native f/10, you can achieve the image scale necessary to capture the smallest of deep sky objects. Add the optional reducer lens—custom-designed for your size EdgeHD tube—and you can increase your field of view without sacrificing optical performance. A Barlow gives you added power for high-resolution planetary, lunar and solar imaging. All EdgeHD optical tubes are Fastar-compatible, allowing the secondary mirror to be removed and replaced with a third party lens accessory for ultra-fast f/2 wide field imaging.
Individually Tested
Every EdgeHD that ships has been tested not only for the surface quality of each optical component, but also with a camera and artificial star to ensure the imaging system meets our rigid quality assurance. This “final acceptance test” confirms the EdgeHD will perform in the field and deliver high-quality astroimages.

ZWO ASI6781MC
ZWO ASI678MC adopts Sony's Latest generation sensor IMX678 with excellent near-infrared response. With the advantages of Large full well capacity, high dynamic range and low readout noise, this camera has been tested and found to have perfect performance in planetary imaging, solar and lunar imaging. Clear in low light
Thanks to the back-illuminated sensor structure and advanced pixel techno[ogy, the camera has very low readout noise and an ultra-high sensitivity. Especially in Low light conditions, the camera performs very well and is able to capture very clear images of celestial objects. STARVIS 2
ZWO ASI678MC can be regarded as an upgrade of ASI178MC. It adopts the latest SONY IMX678 sensor with advanced STARVIS 2 technology. Compared to ASI178MC, this camera features zero amp glow, lower readout noise and higher sensitivity. The dark current noise is greatly decreased; the performance of near-infrared is greatly improved. USB 3.0 & 256M DDR3 Memory
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under Long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed. Upgraded Model
The ZWO ASI678MC is an upgraded product of the ASI178MC. Compared to the ASI178MC, the ASI678MC has lower read noise, lower dark noise, and no amp glow. No Amp Glow ZWO ASI678MC exhibits zero amp glow, no matter how long the exposure and how high the gain value is. Since it is implemented directly at the hardware level, it does not require software control. HCG Mode
The camera has a built-in I-ICG mode, which can effectively reduce readout noise at high gain. This allows the camera to maintain the same high dynamic range as it does at [ow gain. When the gain is 182, the I-ICG mode is automatically turned on. The readout noise is as low as 0.8e, and the dynamic range can still reach a level close to 12bit. Quantum Efficiency
The QE curve and readout noise are very important parameters to measure the camera's performance. Higher QE and tower readout noise are necessary to improve the image signal-to-noise ratio. Dark Current Noise
ASI678MC has much lower dark current noises than ASI178, bringing it has better image signal-to-noise ratios. If we compare the darks frames captured with these two cameras, it can be easily found that the frame from ASI678 has much Less noise and rooks much smoother. SKU: ZWO-ASI678MC

Celestron’s EdgeHD reducers feature a custom 4-element optical design engineered to maintain the flat-field performance of our award winning EdgeHD optical system. Unlike generic reducers, our premium reducers provide substantial back focus to accommodate an assortment of imaging accessories.
EdgeHD reducers offer high index optical elements, including extra low dispersion, exotic Lanthanum elements, which provide high contrast viewing while minimizing chromatic aberration. All air to glass lens surfaces feature multiple layers of coating for maximum light transmission and color correction and contain blacken edges to minimize internal reflection and maximize image contrast. Large diameter lens elements, up to 60 mm clear aperture, ensure that the optimized image circle remains at a generous 42 mm for use with large CCD sensors.
Incorporating computer assisted CNC machined aluminum housing, for precise spacing and alignment of optical elements, and threaded metal covers on the lens assembly to protect your investment from dust and scratches, our reducers offer you an outstanding mechanical design.
With the fastar option on all EdgeHD optical systems, coupled with the .7x reducer, your telescope becomes the most complete imaging system available in its price range today.
Performance
Design: 4-element optical layout designed specifically for the EdgeHD 9.25" to maintain the flat-field performance of the EdgeHD optical design
Maintains the same back focus as when used at f/10: Unlike generic reducers the EdgeHD .7x provides generous back focus to accommodate additional accessories and a wide variety of cameras. Also allows use of existing EdgeHD T-Adapters and other Celestron imaging accessories
One full F-Stop faster than f/10: Reduces the exposure time by one-half to capture the same brightness of object
Increase field of view by 43%: Better for capturing wide field images of larger galaxies and nebulae
Glass
Lanthanum Glass Elements: EdgeHD reducer uses "rare earth" Lanthanum glass elements for clear, high contrast viewing while minimizing chromatic aberration
Fully multi-coated lens elements: All air-to-glass surfaces have multiple layers of coating for maximum light transmission and color correction
Blacken edges: All lens elements have blacken edges to minimize internal reflection and maximize contrast
Full Frame Design
Threads directly onto the 3.25" threads of the EdgeHD optical tube: Reduces mechanical vignetting and allows for use with larger (full frame) sensors and Off-Axis Guiders
Clear aperture: 60 mm clear aperture lens optimized for a 42 mm image circle for use with large CCD sensors.
Mechanical Design
Machined aluminum housing: Computer assisted CNC machined aluminum housing for precise spacing and alignment of the optical elements.
Threaded metal covers for both ends of the lens assembly: To protect your investment from unwanted dust and scratches.
Versatility
Fastar compatibility and f/2 imaging with optional accessory: the EdgeHD is the most complete imaging system in its price range.
From $125.00
After years of R&D we have developed a new solar film that has the optical quality of glass with the advantages of impregnated polymer. Will never develop pinholes or scratches that can let in light and ruin a filter. Other advantages: lightweight and does not require re-balancing tube assembly, will not break, consistent yellow-orange solar image, even density with any aperture, flat surface compared to other thin film filters that have wrinkles and creases. Will not tear or puncture. Stronger than any other solar film on the market. Also available in sheets. Guaranteed 15 years.
What Size Do I Order?
To ensure the best fit for your application, it’s essential to measure the outside diameter (O.D.) of your telescope or lens. We cannotrecommend a filter size based on the model number of your telescope/lens, so please take the following steps to find the correct size:
- Remove the protective cap/cover that covers the objective glass on the end of your telescope/lens.
- Measure the O.D. of your telescope tube or binocular barrel at its widest point, taking into account any obstructions/taper within 1 1/4in from the end of the tube.
- Select the appropriate O.D. range for your measurement using the dropdown menu above. The dropdown menu lists the O.D. ranges available for our filter sizes and will point you to the correct part # for your O.D.
- Note: The O.D. ranges account for the minimum clearance require for the filter to fit.
Alternatively:
- Choose the closest cell O.D. that is at least 1/16″ (1.58mm) larger than the O.D. measurement of your instrument. For example, if your O.D. measurement is 4″(101.6mm), choose a cell with an O.D. of 4-1/4″(107.9mm) part # S-4250.
- Avoid selecting a size that is the same as your O.D., since it will be too tight
- Note: The 1/16″ of clearance is factored into the O.D. ranges in the dropdown menu above.
The solar filter comes with self-adhesive felt for custom fitting, but you can also find additional felt, Velcro, or other materials at most fabric or home improvement stores.
Please use the size chart below to select the appropriate size for your application. The chart lists sizes by clear aperture (filter size in the center of the cell) and O.D. of the aluminum cell (inside cell wall that fits over and around telescope tube). Please note that we cannot take orders for felt.
OPEN TRUSS TELESCOPES:
If the solar filter is to be used on an open truss telescope, the open area from front (secondary mirror) to back (primary mirror) must be covered. No direct sunlight should enter the optical path or the concentrated beam from the mirror can focus on the back of the solar filter film and cause damage and void warranty.

CL Pocket 8x25
Wild Nature
Big on quality, small in size. The 8× companion version of the CL Pocket, with a wider field and a brighter, steadier image — ready for the jacket pocket and the long day out.
Always ready for
the wonders of nature
Four reasons the CL Pocket is the compact binocular that goes everywhere — and performs like it shouldn't.
Pocket-Sized Design
Folds flat to fit in almost any pocket. Just 350g, ready for a jacket, a day pack, or a handbag.
Precision 8× Optics
8× magnification with a 3.1mm exit pupil and 88% light transmission — a brighter, steadier handheld image that holds detail into last light.
2.5m Close Focus
Razor-sharp detail on butterflies, dragonflies and flowers just 2.5 metres away. A macro window on the natural world.
Made in Austria
Hand-assembled in Absam, Tirol. Waterproof to 4m depth, nitrogen-filled, built to outlast every trip.
Crystal-clear views,
from a pocket-sized instrument
Every lens surface is fully multi-coated with Swarovski's proprietary coatings. The result is an image with the bright, high-contrast character that defines Swarovski Optik — and 88% light transmission so that detail holds up well into last light.
A generous 6.8° true field of view shows you 119m of scene at 1000m — roughly 20% wider than the 10×. That width makes it easier to locate moving birds, scan flocks, and track subjects through foliage at 8× magnification.
(119m at 1000m)
Folded flat,
always with you
The CL Pocket's dual-hinge bridge design folds the barrels in underneath, collapsing to a footprint that disappears into a coat pocket or day pack. The rubber-armoured aluminium chassis is balanced in the hand and the 8× magnification is exceptionally steady handheld — no tripod, no shake, just a clean, settled view.
The twin hinges also provide an unusually wide 48–74mm interpupillary range, so the same binocular fits children, adults, and every eye-spacing in between. Small enough that you'll actually bring it with you.
Pocketable in a jacket or day pack
A macro lens
for the natural world
Close focus down to 2.5 metres turns the CL Pocket into something more than a distance tool. Dragonflies resting on a reed. Butterflies working a garden. Spiders on a web. Fungi at the base of a tree.
It's the detail you'd normally need a macro camera to see — except here it's live, moving, and framed in your hands. For nature-curious travellers and birders who love the small stuff, close focus is transformative.
17mm of eye relief,
full view for every user
17mm eye relief with adjustable twist-up eyecups gives eyeglass and sunglasses wearers the full field of view — not a cropped ring like lesser compacts.
±5 dpt diopter adjustment lets you match the optic exactly to your eyes. Nitrogen-filled, pressure-tested, and waterproof to 4 metres — operate confidently from the snowline of the Alps to a summer garden in Queensland.
Nitrogen filled · sealed for life

High quality, fast refractors have a lot going for them when it comes to astrophotography but they come with a downside - field curvature. This is where the image comes to sharp focus on a curved surface. The problem is that the sensors in cameras are flat. The larger the sensor - like those used in cameras with APS-C sized or larger sensors or DSLR cameras - the more effect is noticed.
A field flattener brings the image to focus on a flat surface, like your camera's sensor. At the same time, the basic optical performance of your telescope remains the same.
You will need 55mm of backfocus.
The Bintel T-thread Spacer Ring Kit (sold separately) is recommended to achieve proper distance for use with CMOS imagers.
Use with a DSLR only requires a T-ring for the camera (T-ring sold separately).

Tele Vue's Paracorr Type II is the most versatile coma corrector available for Newtonian telescopes.
Concept: I have built Newtonian reflectors since my high school days and still enjoy observing with Dobsonians. Knowing how the Nagler eyepiece complemented fast Dobsonians and Newtonians by removing eyepiece induced astigmatism, I now became intolerant of the inherent defect of coma in a parabolic mirror.
Paracorr — more stars, sharper stars, more time to observe.
In 1989 I decided to try to achieve the same field quality for parabolas as reached by my Nagler eyepiece and 4-element refractor designs. Existing coma correctors seemed to be limited in color correction, spherical aberration and convenience in use. Paracorr (parabola corrector) is completely color-free, center and edge, and installs like a Barlow. In 2009, we decided to greatly improve the correction with the Paracorr Type 2 design so that new, large, Dobs as fast as f/3 could become practical. Ladderless Dobs with larger fields herald a revolution. Read the reviews and story, The New Dobsonian Revolution, in Astronomy magazine. The new Paracorr Type-2 is a combination visual and imaging system designed by Paul Dellechiaie and our staff. Let the revolution begin. — Al Nagler
An optical chain is as good as its weakest link. With the development of 82 degree Nagler and 100+ degree Ethos eyepieces, Tele Vue offers the largest, flattest and best corrected visual fields in the industry. Combine the Nagler/Ethos revolution, Dobsonian revolution and Paracorr for the ideal mating for spectacular wide and sharp "spacewalk" observing.
Life without Paracorr
Coma makes stars look like blurry comets whose tails point out radially from the center of the field. The faster your scope's speed, the worse the effect. All parabolic mirrors used in Newtonian reflecting telescopes are limited in field sharpness due to coma. Even a perfectly made 13" f/4.5 parabola has only about 0.1 degree diffraction limited field.
Previous attempts to correct for coma have been limited in usefulness. Some correctors were designed mainly for astrophotography, some required difficult installation in the focuser's draw tube. Dedicated coma correcting eyepieces were another approach. However, these were limited to 50 degree apparent fields and would orphan your existing eyepiece collection.
Life with Paracorr Type-2
Paracorr is a universal corrector that tightens and intensifies star images on all f-ratios down to f/3! (see spot size graphs: PDF or JPG) without adding any false color or spherical aberration! You no longer have to constantly shift a Dobsonian to keep objects centered for sharp viewing. Using a Tele Vue eyepiece, put M-13 at the edge of the field and enjoy fully resolving its beauty as it drifts across your view.
Paracorr is easy to use. It slips into your focuser, just like a Barlow. To minimize focuser in-travel, due to additional length, a mild 15% Barlow effect was designed into Paracorr to effectively push the focus out. Paracorr is recommended for use with all Tele Vue eyepieces because our Plössls, Radians, Panoptics, Naglers, Ethos and Delos eyepieces achieve higher levels of aberration correction than competitive models. However, Paracorr is also compatible with other eyepiece makes.
Try Paracorr on your "DobNewt." We think you'll agree that the revolution is complete.
Paracorr Type II Eats Coma
Paracorr can be used with both 2" and 1¼" eyepieces. For visual use, slip Paracorr into your focuser like a Barlow lens, and your eyepiece into Paracorr. 1¼" eyepieces will make use of Paracorr's special low profile 1¼" reducing adapter. Paracorr is threaded for 2" filters.
Astrophotography with Paracorr Type II
Paracorr also works with DSLR and CCD cameras. Just unscrew the lens assembly from the Tunable Top and attach appropriate threaded accessory tubes and camera mounts. The Paracorr uses TeleVue's Imaging System adapters utilizing the 2.4" thread at the top of the Paracorr barrel.
Optimizing the Coma Correction by Using Paracorr's Tunable Top
As you've read, all Newtonian / Dobsonian telescopes can benefit from using a Tele Vue Paracorr (Parabola Corrector) to eliminate coma in the image. One aspect to optimizing this correction is the distance of the eyepieces focus point (field stop location) to the last surface of the Paracorr lens (within a small +/- tolerance of course). Typical eyepieces used with fast Newtonians can have field stop locations differing by as much as half an inch. To accommodate for the differences, we developed the "Tunable Top."
The "Tunable Top" permits optimized aberration control for all Tele Vue eyepieces and many others, by simply loosening a screw and rotating the Tunable Top. The eyepiece barrel height raises and lowers, allowing you to maintain the proper field stop to Paracorr lens distance. For your reference, here is a recommendation guide for choosing the best setup for various Tele Vue eyepieces to get optimum correction:

Introduced at the 2007 Northeast Astronomy Forum, Tele Vue once again broadened the amateur astronomer's perspective on the universe with: 100° of pure Tele Vue quality. The field area of this new eyepiece is more than 50% larger than an 82° field. The Tele Vue Ethos is essentially multiple eyepieces, delivering the true field size of a longer focal length, narrower apparent field eyepiece with the benefits of higher power and darker sky background.
We invited NEAF attendees to take a look and see the universe the way we think it was meant to be experienced, with a field of view incredibly wide and sharp! We were very pleased indeed by the response and validation of our design goals.

Annals of the Deep Sky - Vol 9 is a comprehensive reference that guides amateur and semipro astronomers into every mind-boggling corner of the observational universe. Each volume presents extensive descriptions of prominent stars and deep-sky objects. No other popular work in astronomy provides the comprehensive historical background and astrophysical appraisals of prominent stars and celestial objects.
This volume is dedicated to the Milky Way’s nearest and largest satellite galaxies, the Magellanic Clouds. Throughout history they have been the subject of awe and wonder, catching the eye of Indigenous peoples of Australia and New Zealand, 16th century mariners, and astronomy’s pioneer observers such as Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille, James Dunlop, and John Herschel. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, northern astronomers began traveling to the Southern Hemisphere to photograph, map out, and study the celestial constituents of what they referred to as Nubecula Major and Nubecula Minor. This book presents not only a thorough historical account of the clouds dating back 40,000 years, but also how astronomers’ ideas of the Clouds have changed over the decades — particularly on the Clouds’ origins, interactions with the Milky Way, and the quizzical aspects of star formation posed by their many unusual clusters and H II regions. Come discover the observational richness and astrophysical conundrums that are the Magellanic Clouds, true treasure islands lying just beyond our Galactic shores.
Annals of the Deep Sky - Vol 9 also includes two special fold-out maps for exploring the Magellanic Clouds in more detail, one showing the Large Magellanic Cloud and the other the Small Magellanic Cloud plus extra detail on the Tarantula Nebula, the star-forming region also known as 30 Doradus.
Author Jeff Kanipe has released the latest edition of this great series and for those of us in the South we are blessed. Volume 9 covers the Magellanic Clouds. Definitely will be in my Library of Southern Hemisphere books, can’t wait.

Review
An excellent premium quality low power eyepiece. It is ideal for observing large emission and reflection nebulae, Supernova Remnants and large open star clusters.
It is very well suited to large f/4.5 Dobsonians giving 6mm exit pupil. Is a great low power eyepiece in short focal length refractors, for example, with the TV 102, it gives 31x and a true field over 130 arc minutes.
It has 16mm of eye relief and can be used by eyeglass wearers with no vignetting of the field. Images are sharp right to the edge of the field.
This is a lot of eyepiece so its heavy weight may cause some minor concern in Dobsonians. One of the favourite eyepieces of Bintel's Technicians.

Product Description
ASI294MM-P is a back-illuminated, 4/3” format, 14-bit ADC camera with 4.63um pixels *(. It is the mono version of ASI294MC Pro, one of the top selling cameras from ZWO. It has an impressive 66ke- full well capacity and 4144*2822 big resolution.
Not only does it have a very high QE value with a peak at about 90%, but feature an ultra-low readout noise of 1.2e. If you are seeking for a small-format mono camera for astrophotography, then ASI294MM-P gonna be your ideal choice.
14-bit ADC and 13stops dynamic range
ASI294MM Pro has very similar parameters as its color version. Both have the 14bit ADC and a high dynamic range of 13 stops, which is even higher than that of ASI1600MM Pro camera.
Unlocked Bin1 Mode
Yet another perk of the ASI294MM Pro is that the pixel size is switchable – the default setting is Bin2, but you can switch to Bin1 anytime in your astrophotography software. This changes the pixel size into 2.3um and increases resolution to 8288×5644. This is what we called “Unlocked Bin1 Mode”. The ability to unlock bin1-mode was a popular request from our customers. Of course we listened to you and worked quickly to make it possible.
Unlocked Bin1: 12bit ADC, 2.3um pixel size, 47 megapixels, 8288*5644 resolution, 14k full well capacity.
Bin2: 14bit ADC, 4.6um pixel size, 11.7 megapixels, 4144*2822 resolution, 66k full well capacity.
Backlit Sensor
The back-illuminated CMOS sensor improves sensitivity and noise reduction – the key factors to enhancing image quality, while radically realigning their fundamental pixel structure from front-illumination to back-illumination. It has retained the advantages of CMOS image sensors such as low power consumption and high-speed operation.
With a conventional front-illumination structure, the metal wiring and transistors on the surface of the silicon substrate that form the sensor’s light-sensitive area (photo-diode) impede photon gathering carried out by the on-chip lens. A back-illuminated structure minimizes the degradation of sensitivity to optical angle response, while also increasing the amount of light that enters each pixel due to the lack of obstacles such as metal wiring and transistors that have been moved to the reverse of the silicon substrate.
Camera Performance
Large well depth capacity, low read-out noise and high dynamic range.
The full well capacity of 66387e of ASI294MM Pro is near the top of all ASI DSO cameras. It ensures a very high dynamic range up to 13stops that will greatly reduce overexposure probability and help gain richer color gradation.
When the gain value is 120, the magical HCG high gain mode is turned on, the readout noise will be largely decreased (as low as 1.2e), and the dynamic range is basically unchanged.
Reliable Mechanics
There are four screws on the camera that seal the sensor chamber. This kind of design has been extensively tested and is very stable. Even when used in higher humidity environments, ASI294MM Pro will still work fine without dew problems.
The anti-dew heater power is around 5W and can be turn off in software to save power.
QE Value
As ZWO’s latest BSI (backside illuminated type) mono camera, ASI294MM Pro has very high QE performance, not only higher than its color version, but even ASI1600MM Pro. It is estimated that the QE peak value is about 90%.
ASI294MM-P vs ASI1600MM Pro
Two-Stage TEC Cooling: Ultra-Low Dark Current
ASI294MM Pro uses two stage TEC cooling that can lower the CMOS sensor temperature to 35c~40c below ambient, which can greatly reduce dark current generation and sensor noise even with extended exposure times.
The unique dark current suppression technology can even further reduce dark current noise. When it’s cooled to -20℃, the current noise can be as low as 0.0022e/s/pix, which is completely negligible!
Please notice that the camera needs to be connected to an external 12v power supply to implement the cooling function. We recommend you use 12V@3A DC adapter (5.5*2.1mm, center pole positive) or lithium battery with 11-15V to power the camera.
USB3.0 & 256M DDR3 Memory
The ASI294MM Pro is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB(2Gb) DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed.
