Nikon NAV-17HW Eyepiece 17mm
$1,749.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
The ultra-wide 102° field of view of the Nikon NAV-17HW makes you feel like you've jumped into outer space. It also comes with a converter that provides the performance of two eyepieces.
This 17mm focal length, 2" diameter Nikon eyepiece is a stepping stone to an unparalleled dimension, perfect for astronomy enthusiasts who demand optical performance.
Ultra-wide 102° field of view
The 102° apparent field of view is so overwhelmingly wide that you can't see the entire expanse of space in front of you at a glance. Experience the dramatic impact of this 102° apparent field of view, which will make you forget you're even looking through an eyepiece. Experience the ultra-wide field of view, which even at 100x magnification, can fit the Moon's disk in its entirety.
Advanced aberration correction
This advanced optical design combines a wide field of view with flatness of the image. It is fully compatible with the bright F-number (f/4) of the objective optical system it is paired with. Furthermore, the central image remains sharp while field curvature and astigmatism are minimized to the utmost, allowing you to fully experience the benefits of a wide field of view with sharp star images all the way to the corners of the field.

Includes the Eyepiece Innovative Converter "EiC" as standard, giving you the value of two for the price of one
The dedicated converter "EiC-H14 (for NAV-17HW)" is included as standard. Simply screw it onto the end of the barrel to increase the focal length to 10mm, improving magnification and effectively correcting aberrations (field curvature and astigmatism). It truly has the performance of two high-performance eyepieces.

Keep stray light away
To minimize stray light that is harmful to observation, optical simulations were conducted, taking into account even large angles of incidence. Light-blocking apertures, light-blocking lines, black paint, etc. were used appropriately. Multi-coating was applied to the lens surfaces, suppressing harmful reflections and improving contrast.
Detachable light-shielding hood
A light-shielding hood is used to prevent external light disturbances when observing at high magnifications where it is not possible to keep the eye close to the object, or in places such as parking lots. It is detachable and can be removed when not needed. Unlike regular "horn-shaped eyecups," it has a unique shape that allows observation while wearing glasses, and is flexible enough to reduce the transmission of vibrations.
