INNOVATION IN EVERY DETAIL
"CONSTANTLY IMPROVING WHAT IS GOOD"
This has been the SWAROVSKI OPTIK motto since day one. For Swarovski, this also means exceeding their customers’ expectations and surprising them time and again – with the precision of Swarovski's products, with their innovative technology and with their comprehensive service.
PRECISION GUARANTEED
Swarovski's products are manufactured with ultra precise tolerances of 8 μ, less than a hair’s breadth (approximately 60 μ). It is only through a combination of maximum precision, state-of-the-art technology and adherence to the high SWAROVSKI OPTIK quality standards that they are able to consistently and permanently assure the optical perfection for which SWAROVSKI OPTIK is renowned, including tazor-sharp, high-contrast images with maximum colour fidelity as a result of exclusively using high-precision lenses and prisms, and complete reliability from -20 °C / +55 °C.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
To ensure a consistently high quality level in all their products, Swarovski subject every product and every phase of production to comprehensive, manual quality controls. Every product also undergoes a full image and material control. Swarovski's quality management system has been certified to ISO 9001/2000 since 1999. Their environmental management system has been certified to ISO 14001 since 2000.
SWAROVISION
The SWAROVISION technology redefined the concept of optical quality.
Field Flattener lenses provide unprecedented peripheral definition, fluoride-containing HD lenses minimize colour fringing, while optimized coatings ensure maximum colour fidelity.
Large eye relief offering a full field of view for those wearing eye glasses.
HD-OPTICS Swarovski's HD optics feature fluoride-containing lenses, which virtually eliminate colour aberrations. The scatter is considerably less with fluoride than with even the best types of optical glass. This enables maximum colour fidelity and leads to a significant improvement in resolution and contrast SWAROTOP AND SWARODUR
Coatings for bright, high-contrast images: Reduces surface light reflection from 4-6% to 0.2%. Used on all the lenses and prisms found in SWAROVSKI OPTIK products. SWAROBRIGHT
Coating for maximum colour fidelity across the whole light spectrum: SWAROVSKI OPTIK was the first manufacturer in the world to use this technology in series production. SWAROCLEAN
This non-stick coating on the lenses makes it easier to clean away dirt such as water marks, insect repellents, or tree resin. NEW FEATURES AND FIELDPRO PACKAGE The launch of the EL binoculars by SWAROVSKI OPTIK marked a milestone in long-range optics. These binoculars have now been further enhanced following intensive development and a great deal of dedication. The result of these efforts is the best EL Family ever. PREMIUM QUALITY DOWN TO THE SMALLEST DETAIL
Like every product from SWAROVSKI OPTIK, all EL SWAROVISION binoculars are produced using the lowest possible production tolerances and undergo a 100% quality check. Swarovski's commitment to complete customer satisfaction is reflected in their comprehensive 10 year warranty. Should your binoculars develop a fault or be damaged, even outside the warranty period, you can be assured of service second to none.
As standard, the binoculars also come with eyepiece and objective lens protectors, as well as a lift carrying strap.

Effortless Close-Range Observation
The Papilio series features the PENTAX-developed Convergent Lens Optical System Engineering mechanism, which automatically slides the left and right objective lenses toward the center when the focus is fixed at a short distance. As a result, the right and left image fields are correctly aligned to facilitate close-range viewing. Thanks to its go-anywhere portability, this new series is also ideal for conventional binocular subjects, including spectator sports, travel and hiking.
-
Extra-Short Minimum Focusing Distance
The Papilio series offers a minimum focusing distance of just 50 centimeters (approx. 1.6 feet), considerably shorter than the two-meter distance (approx. 6.5 feet) offered by similar PENTAX models currently on the market.
-
Outstanding Optical Performance
The Papilio series features multi-coated optical elements to minimize unwanted light reflections for a well-defined subject image. The combination of aspherical optical elements and high-refraction BaK4 glass prisms assures a sharp, clear image with minimal distortion, even at the edges.
-
Long Eye Relief
The Papilio series offers a long 15-millimeter eye relief to assure effortless viewing of the entire image field, even for eyeglass wearers.
-
Protective Rubber Housing
The protective rubber housing not only protects inner mechanism from external shock, but also assures a firm, comfortable grip of the binocular body even in the field.
PENTAX-original dual-axis eye-distance adjustment mechanism for quick, effortless eye-distance control

Celestron EdgeHD 11 OTA
See the Universe in HD
EdgeHD is an aplanatic, flat field Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that produces aberration-free images across a wide visual and photographic field of view. The optical system was designed to reduce more than just off-axis star coma; it also provides an astrograph-quality flat focal plane all the way to the edge of the field of view...
True Astrograph Quality
Many optical designs that advertise themselves as "astrographs" actually only produce pinpoint stars across a curved focal plane. While this may be acceptable for some visual observing, stars will appear out of focus at the edge when used with the flat chip sensor of a digital camera. EdgeHD optics produce a focal plane more than three-times flatter than a standard Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and dramatically flatter than competing coma-free designs. This guarantees you visibly sharp stars across some of the largest CCD chips available today.
Improved Performance
Superior edge performance not only creates rounder, more pleasing stars, but actually improves the resolution and limiting magnitude when compared to telescopes of equal aperture. With Celestron’s StarBright XLT optical coatings on every surface, EdgeHD optics gives you maximum light throughput across the widest visual and photographic spectrum.
Mechanical Features
In addition to Celestron EdgeHD 11 OTA optimized optical design, the telescope tube has been redesigned to make sure you get the most from your optics each and every night.
- Mirror clutches - Flexible tension clutches hold the mirror in place and reduce image shift when taking long exposure astro-images. Once focused, the flexible rods allow the mirror to be held in place without putting any force or pressure on the mirror assembly, keeping the image centered in the eyepiece (or on the sensor).
- Tube vents - Cooling vents located on the rear cell allow hot air to be released from behind the primary mirror. Each vent has an integrated 95-micron micromesh filter guaranteed to let warm air out without letting dust in.
- Fastar versatility - EdgeHD is the most versatile imaging telescope available today. At its native f/10, you can achieve the image scale necessary to capture the smallest of deep sky objects. Add the optional reducer lens—custom-designed for your size EdgeHD tube—and you can increase your field of view without sacrificing optical performance. A Barlow gives you added power for high-resolution planetary, lunar and solar imaging. All EdgeHD optical tubes are Fastar-compatible, allowing the secondary mirror to be removed and replaced with a third party lens accessory for ultra-fast f/2 wide field imaging.
Individually Tested
Every EdgeHD that ships has been tested not only for the surface quality of each optical component, but also with a camera and artificial star to ensure the imaging system meets our rigid quality assurance. This “final acceptance test” confirms the EdgeHD will perform in the field and deliver high-quality astroimages.

ZWO ASI 174MM Astronomy Camera
ZWO's new ASI174MM camera uses Sony's latest Pregius IMX174 CMOS sensor. It combines several features putting it high on the list for anyone wanting to capture spectacular lunar and solar images, high resolution planetary images at long focal lengths or even as an autoguider without worrying "will I be able to find a guide star?"
The main advantages of the Sony IMX174 chip are:
- Large sensor size of more than 13mm across the diagonal
- High quantum efficiency of 78% at its peak
- Very low read noise of only 6e
- Extremely fast frame rate - effectively freezing moments of steady seeing
- Global shutter and no fixed pattern noise
Sony IMX174 Sensor - big benefits
Prior to the release of the ZWO ASI174 cameras it was difficult to find a good camera capable of full disk images of the Moon or Sun. This is no problem with the ASI174. It's sensor has a pixel array of 1936 x 1216 with 5.86 µm square pixels. This makes the diagonal measurement of the chip 13.4mm across.
The Image above shows the comparative field of view between the ASI120 camera and the new ASI174. Shot through a small refractor at 600mm focal length you can see the ASI174 will easily cover 0.5° of sky. It is now very easy to caputre full disk images of the Sun through many popular solar telescopes from Coronado and Lunt - no more mosaics required.
Quantum Efficiency and Read Noise
Another big benefit of Sony's IMX174 chip is the high quantum efficiency coupled with very low read noise. This equates directly to better signal to noise. Even with very fast capture rates you will get more signal from your target and less contribution from reading off the sensor of the camera - in essence cleaner data resulting in better images!
For a few years now Sony's highly regarded ICX618 CCD chip was a popular choice for planetary cameras. If we compare the new Sony IMX174 sensor to Sony's ICX618 the news is good for both QE and read noise.
The quantum efficiency of the IMX174 is slightly more than 11% better with read noise of nearly half! (6e for the IMX174 vs 11e for the ICX618).

Celestron EdgeHD 14 OTA
See the Universe in HD
EdgeHD is an aplanatic, flat field Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that produces aberration-free images across a wide visual and photographic field of view. The optical system was designed to reduce more than just off-axis star coma; it also provides an astrograph-quality flat focal plane all the way to the edge of the field of view.
Superior edge performance provides two distinct advantages. You'll enjoy rounder, more pleasing stars. It also improves the resolution and limiting magnitude when compared to telescopes of equal aperture. With Celestron’s StarBright XLT optical coatings on every surface, EdgeHD optics gives you maximum light throughput across the widest visual and photographic spectrum.
Mechanical Features
In addition to EdgeHD’s optimized optical design, the telescope tube has been redesigned to make sure you get the most from your optics each and every night.

Reviews
Excerpt from Living Bird article by Dr. KenRosenberg, director of conservation science at Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology.
TeleVue has introduced a new 60mm scope for birders, which includes the 45-degree prism, and when fitted with the same 8-24mm zoom provides powers from 15-45x. This scope is comparable in size, weight, and image quality to the best Swarovski or Kowa spotting scopes and may cost considerably less, ...

Excerpts from Dennis di Cicco review of the TV-60 in Sky & Telescope, December 2004
Even at 120x, brilliant Vega, one of the most challenging stars for a refractor to image cleanly, appears as a blue-white Airy disk surrounded by several white diffraction rings and no perceptible color halo.
— di Cicco, D. "Pint-Size Powerhouse: Tele Vue's TV-60". Sky & Telescope (Dec. 2004).
Read what SmartMoney has to say about the TV-60
SmartMoney magazine, The Wall Street Journal Magazine of Personal Business, is all about recommending the wisest buys for their readers. The 'Smart Spending' section of the November, 2004, issue features the article Stargazing; "Today's telescopes are so high-tech they seek out stars themselves. But we wondered: What would the world's top amateur astronomer think of them?" In this context, the Tele Vue-60 was chosen the winner by David Levy after checking out four other scopes and the Tele Vue-60.The article concludes: "Our winner gave us the best view of Jupiter, and without any gizmos. 'This is a sweet instrument,' Levy says."
— Light, J. "Stargazing". Smart Money (Nov. 2004). 133-135.
Excerpts from Raymond Shubinski's review of the TV-60 in Astronomy magazine
A note of caution: You may find yourself spending more time looking through the Tele Vue-60 than through your larger scope.
— Shubinski, R. "The Tele Vue-60". Astronomy (Nov. 2004).
Excerpts from Randy Roy's comments on Cloudy Nights Telescope Reviews website.
If you want wide field, pristine, color free views throughout a wide range of magnification -- if you want a scope that is a superfinder, a guidescope, a piggyback refractor, or an ultra-light travel scope -- and if you demand the best in fit, finish and build quality -- buy this. I've not seen anything else in its class that does so much.
— Roy, R. "Televue-60 APO". Cloudy Nights Telescope Reviews (Feb. 4, 2004).
Excerpts from TV-60 review by Ed Ting, published on The Telescope Review Web Site
- TeleVue's newest telescope is a cute little 60mm f/6 apo. In a departure from their usual styling, the TV60 has a sleek, tapered black body that resembles a spotting scope. .... The construction is heavy-duty and very serious. There's a sliding bar on the bottom that's very similar to the one on the Ranger. Like the Ranger, it has a helical focuser and drawtube assembly. Unlike the Ranger, the TV60 adds a nice sliding dew shield.
- The scope has impressive optics. .... No false color was noted. At only 15X (with a 24 mm Panoptic) Titan could be seen as a tiny pinpoint dot next to the planet. You can see Cassini's Division on Saturn at 70x (with a 5 mm Type 6 Nagler.) .... The Trapezium was easily resolved, .... Castor is an easy split. Most impressively, the scope split Rigel, again at 70X. On deep sky, you have to make some allowances for the small aperture. M35 is just starting to resolve, but the other nearby clusters (M37, M36, M38) look like similar faint smudges in the eyepiece. Not exciting, but again, we're only talking about a 60 mm telescope here.
- I once heard small scopes like this described as "One-Hour Telescopes." You get to see pretty much everything you want to see in about an hour. As such, the TV60 is a great quick peek or travel scope.
- Update, 2/7/04: TeleVue informs me that they plan to offer an X-Y heavy duty version of their Starbeam mount, so that the TV60 can be mounted on a larger scope.
— Ting, E. "Tele Vue-60". The Telescope Review Web Site (Feb. 1, 2004).

Tele Vue-NP101is
We were determined to make the NP series optically, mechanically, and functionally as perfect as possible for imaging up to 50mm diagonal chips without penalty to its near-ideal visual operation. (Reviewer Note.) How? By applying the developments created for the Tele Vue-60is to the new NP101is and NP127is and then going beyond.
The NP101 (540mm, f/5.4, 4") maintains its optical specifications yet with a redesigned 4-element optical system. Larger rear lens groups absolutely minimize vignetting in formats up to 50mm diagonal. For these large chips, an optional field corrector was developed so the corners of the newly brightened edges would virtually be as perfect as the center of the field.
Next, to take full advantage of the larger lenses, we developed a larger focuser and draw tube having a 3" front aperture and 2.4" rear aperture. This eliminates any restriction of the larger diameter converging light cone. We build and test the rack and pinion focuser to hold more than 5kg of weight, yet still permit extremely fine focusing control via a 10:1 dual-speed pinion assembly. This new draw tube also permits quick change from visual to imaging operation and allows full camera rotation without focus change. In addition, it has the capability to correct for any residual focal plane tilt and accepts a "position stop" for our digital micrometer to allow repeatable focus measurement to 0.0001".
To maintain squareness to the optical axis while changing camera orientation, the drawtube has four lock screws that tighten against a taper on the "imaging insert" ring. This insert is threaded to accept Tele Vue's new Imaging System accessories including large diameter extension tubes, optical accessories, and camera and CCD attachments, all with mating threads.
The Focusmate 10:1 planetary ball type reduction focuser provides extremely sensitive focus adjustment, measurable with the optional Digital Micrometer Kit to better than 1/10,000". Also, the optional Focusmate Driver permits electronic motor control of the focusing process. The Focusmate Driver has direction push-buttons and adjustable speed. A tap on the button permits vibration-free focusing in steps as small as approximately 0.0005". The Focusmate Driver can be remotely computer-controlled with Focusmaster Computer Interface.
Tele Vue has been known for producing visual instruments "even better than you imagined." We aim to achieve the same with our imaging equipment. Our dedicated local machinists and in-house staff are as committed as ever to deliver on these quality and performance goals.

Tele Vue NP127is
For 25 years, Tele Vue has pushed the boundaries of APO refractors, as well as eyepieces, to the recognised pinnacle of performance. The Tele Vue NP127is retains the exemplary wide field and planetary visual capability while adding new features to make imaging easier and more flexible.
Tele Vue was determined to make the NP series optically, mechanically, and functionally as perfect as possible for imaging up to 50mm diagonal chips without penalty to its near-ideal visual operation.
By applying the developments created for the TeleVue60is to the new NP127is and then going beyond the results speak for themselves.
The NP127is maintains its 127mm f/5.2 optical specifications yet with a redesigned 4-element optical system. The larger rear lens group absolutely minimises vignetting in formats up to 50mm measured diagonally across the chip. An optional field corrector is available so the corners of the newly brightened edges are virtually as perfect as the centre of the field. To prevent restriction of the larger converging light cone the focuser has a 3" front aperture and a 2.4" rear aperture.
The new drawtube has features allowing quick changes from visual to imaging operation. While imaging cameras can be rotated without changing focus (just remember to do new flats!). It also has the capability to correct for any residual focal plane tilt so the imaging chip is square on to the light path.
The imaging insert ring is threaded to accept Tele Vue's new Imaging System accessories including large diameter extension tubes, optical accessories, and camera/CCD attachments all with mating threads.
TeleVue builds and tests the rack and pinion focuser to hold more than 5kg of weight, yet still permit extremely fine focusing control via a 10:1 dual-speed pinion assembly (measurable with the optional Digital Micrometer Kit). The optional Focusmate driver also permits electric motorised control of the focusing process. The new Focusmaster software interface allows this entire procedure to be completed from a PC or laptop.
Tele Vue has been known for producing visual instruments "even better than you imagined". The new NP127is is evidence that they aim to achieve the same with their imaging equipment

After a short wait, the "re-tweaked" TV127is is available. Never ones to rest, Tele Vue took the opportunity to to make small but meaningful changes to their flagship model. Both the optical and mechanical designs have been revised to reduce atmospheric defocusing sensitivity. The new lens prescription delivers smaller spot sizes over a broader wavelength range than before, while a new stainless steel front cell helps provide better thermal stability in extreme climates. Advanced multi-coatings are applied to maximize contrast and transmission. Still the fastest in the industry, there is just no competitive comparison considering its f/5.2 speed and flat-field.

As soon as you turn on your CPC Deluxe HD, you’ll be guided through our simple SkyAlign procedure. The telescope walks you through centering any three bright objects in the eyepiece. From there, it’s ready to locate and track more than 40,000 celestial objects.
To customize your experience under the stars, CPC Deluxe HD is compatible with all of Celestron’s latest accessories. Add StarSense AutoAlign and your CPC will align itself in under 3 minutes. Or add the SkyPortal WiFi Module and control your telescope using a smartphone or tablet.
With this much versatility, the CPC Deluxe HD is a telescope that will serve you well for years to come, no matter what you choose to do with the hobby—including astroimaging.
Optional Solar Filter
Built with Imaging in Mind
Most altazimuth telescopes are designed primarily for visual use, but not the CPC Deluxe HD. It offers all the same high-end features you’ll find on Celestron's German equatorial mounts. Out of the box, your CPC Deluxe can track accurately for up to 30 seconds without adding a wedge, thanks to a reengineered drive train with a 6-inch brass gear, stainless steel worm gear, and both steel and nylon ball bearings.
If you’ll be doing longer exposure astrophotography, adding the HD Pro Wedge turns this telescope into an astroimager’s dream setup. With a wedge, you can take advantage of the All Star Polar Alignment procedure, which has you polar aligned in just minutes. You can also train your mount to be even more accurate with Permanently Programmable Periodic Error Correction. Finally, your CPC tracks smoothly through the meridian without doing a meridian flip, enabling you to capture objects in the best part of the night sky.

Suggested Accessories
With a generous 4 inch aperture the Celestron NexStar 4SE Telescope provides excellent light-gathering ability at an affordable price. You’ll be thrilled with views of the Moon and planets, along with deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula while retaining a compact size. Its fully automated GoTo computerised mount with database of 40,000+ celestial objects automatically locates and tracks objects for you.
SkyAlign Technology
SkyAlign makes aligning a computerized telescope fast, easy, and accurate. Simply point at any three bright objects in the sky and the telescope aligns itself. From there, navigation and tracking is as easy as pushing a button.
Unique Single Fork Mount Design
Debate about the "best" telescope is nearly as endless as the Universe itself but we know one thing quite well - the best telescope is the one you will use most often! That’s why Celestron’s engineers created NexStar SE’s unique, single fork arm mount. It’s perfectly portable and makes for quick and easy set up compared to many designs. The NexStar SE disassembles into several compact pieces so it's easy to transport. You’ll have no problem getting the NexStar SE to your favorite observing site, or setting it up quickly at home.
Of course, it’s what’s inside the mount that really counts. Sturdy construction from high-quality components give the Celestron NexStar 4SE Telescope the pointing and tracking accuracy needed to observe and follow your favorite targets with push-button ease. How many other telescopes can locate and track over 40,000 celestial objects - or take a Sky Tour and let your telescope show you the best objects currently visible?
Advanced Features Let the Celestron NexStar 4SE Telescope Grow with You
The NexStar 4SE is compatible with all the high-tech accessories. Provide GPS coordinates to your telescope with SkySync. If you want to explore the world of astroimaging, the 4SE is a perfect choice. Its built-in wedge allows you to track long exposures. Or, if you’re interested in imaging the Moon and planets, pair your NexStar 4SE with one of our ZWO planetary imaging cameras.
Please note that for DSLR photography, you will require both a Celestron MAK T-Adapter (not the SCT T-Adapter), and a DSLR T-Ring for your specific camera.
