ZWO
ZWO ASI183MC Colour CMOS Camera

This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
Frame lunar detail in one-shot colour
The uncooled ASI183MC records one-shot colour across a 20.18 MP Sony IMX183 sensor. Its full frame suits wide lunar features. For a small planet, read a smaller region to increase the capture rate.
Check what your optics can resolve
Small pixels sample more finely at a given focal length. Seeing and focal length still determine whether that sampling helps.
Use the full field when the subject needs it
The 13.2 × 8.8 mm active area lets you frame a broader field than a small cropped readout.
Crop the readout for more speed
ZWO lists up to about 70 fps at 1920 × 1080 in 12-bit mode, where a smaller part of the sensor is read.
Switch from the full Moon to a smaller capture window
A smaller region of interest speeds readout without changing the telescope’s image scale. ZWO provides 12-bit and 10-bit readout options. The full-frame maximum is 19 fps over USB 3.0.

Gain and spectral response

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturation. The plot starts near 15,000 electrons and falls steadily with gain.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. ZWO marks gain 120 near one electron per count.

Dynamic range
The span between the noise floor and saturation. The range drops steadily as gain rises, from around 12 to under 8 stops across the plot.

Read noise
Noise introduced when the sensor is read. The plotted noise drops from about 3 to around 1.6 electrons RMS.

Relative spectral response
The three colour traces peak in different parts of the visible spectrum. The blue trace is strongest at shorter wavelengths than the red trace.
