ZWO
ZWO ASI 585MC Pro Cooled Colour CMOS Camera
$949.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
A cooled 4K colour camera for deep-sky targets
The ASI585MC Pro pairs the Sony IMX585 colour sensor with regulated cooling. Its compact 16:9 field suits smaller deep-sky subjects at a suitable focal length. USB 3.0 also supports short, fast captures for lunar and planetary work.
Frame smaller targets with a wide aspect ratio
The sensor is wider than it is tall. Check the framing at your telescope’s focal length.
Allow for bright stars in longer exposures
The colour model’s rated full well gives its maximum charge capacity before saturation. Gain changes the available headroom.
Buffer frames during transfer
The camera’s memory supports transfer over USB 3.0. The camera’s separate USB 2.0 hub can connect compatible accessories.
Regulated cooling for repeatable calibration
Set a sensor temperature the two-stage TEC cooler can hold, then match that temperature for lights and darks. ZWO specifies zero amp glow and a 30–35 °C cooling differential at 30 °C ambient in its model table.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturation. The colour-model curve starts around 40,000 electrons and drops with gain.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. The conversion factor falls as gain rises. The most rapid change is near the low-gain end.

Dynamic range
The span between the noise floor and saturation. The range rises from around 10 stops to nearly 12 at the high conversion gain step.

Read noise
Noise introduced when the sensor is read. Read noise falls sharply at gain 200, then changes more gradually.

Quantum efficiency
The curves show where each colour channel responds most strongly. The traces converge farther into the near infrared.
