ZWO
ZWO ASI183MM Pro Cooled Monochrome CMOS Camera
$1,599.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
Fine sampling with cooled monochrome capture
The ASI183MM Pro pairs fine 2.4 µm sampling with regulated cooling and monochrome capture. Build luminance, colour or narrowband exposures using the separate filters appropriate to your imaging plan.
Check what your optics can resolve
Small pixels sample more finely at a given focal length. Seeing and focal length still determine whether that sampling helps.
Use the full field when the subject needs it
The 13.2 × 8.8 mm active area lets you frame a broader field than a small cropped readout.
Watch bright star cores
ZWO’s gain chart shows that available well capacity falls as gain rises. Check bright stars when choosing exposure and gain.
Hold the sensor at a repeatable temperature
The regulated two-stage TEC cooler helps control dark current during longer exposures. Use a sustainable setpoint so your calibration darks can match your lights. The cooled body includes a 256 MB DDR3 buffer and a USB 2.0 accessory hub.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturation. The plot starts near 15,000 electrons and falls steadily with gain.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. ZWO marks gain 120 near one electron per count.

Dynamic range
The span between the noise floor and saturation. The range drops steadily as gain rises, from around 12 to under 8 stops across the plot.

Read noise
Noise introduced when the sensor is read. The plotted noise drops from about 3 to around 1.6 electrons RMS.

Relative spectral response
Relative monochrome sensitivity peaks near the green part of the visible band and tapers through the red and near infrared.
