ZWO
ZWO ASI 585MM Pro Cooled MONO CMOS Camera
$1,129.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
A cooled monochrome IMX585 for deep-sky imaging
The ASI585MM Pro pairs Sony’s back-illuminated monochrome IMX585 with regulated cooling in a compact body. The wide 3840 × 2160 frame also suits lunar and planetary capture.
Sample fine detail
The 1/1.2″ sensor delivers an 8.29 MP monochrome frame.
Use the mono rating
ZWO specifies this full-well value for the MM version.
Record a full-size sequence
ZWO rates up to 47 fps at full resolution in 10-bit high-speed mode.
Cool the sensor and control high-gain read noise
The two-stage TEC system lowers sensor temperature for long exposures. ZWO’s high conversion gain mode engages at gain 200, where read noise can reach 0.7 e⁻.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturation. The monochrome curve starts near 38,700 electrons and falls with gain.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. The largest reduction in electrons per count comes at lower settings.

Dynamic range
The span between the noise floor and saturation. The range recovers at the high conversion gain step before declining again.

Read noise
Noise introduced when the sensor is read. The plot steps down near gain 200 and then levels off.

Quantum efficiency
ZWO’s monochrome curve is near 90% through much of the blue and green and falls into the near infrared.

Dark current versus temperature
Dark current rises with sensor temperature. Cooling reduces how much unwanted charge builds up during a long exposure.
