ZWO
ZWO ASI183MM Monochrome CMOS Camera
$1,129.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
A high-resolution monochrome sensor for small targets
The uncooled ASI183MM uses Sony’s back-illuminated IMX183CLK-J monochrome sensor, with 2.4 µm pixels across a 1″ optical format.
Sample small detail
The 2.4 µm pixel pitch supports fine sampling for the Moon, planets and other small targets.
Select a faster region
ZWO lists 19 fps at full resolution and up to 103.23 fps at 1280 × 720 in 12-bit mode.
Read the response curve
ZWO estimates 84% peak QE and more than 60% at H-alpha.
Match the capture mode to the target
Choose a smaller readout region for faster capture. ZWO positions the camera for lunar and white-light solar work, and documents a grid pattern that can appear in H-alpha solar imaging.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturation. The plot starts near 15,000 electrons and falls steadily with gain.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. ZWO marks gain 120 near one electron per count.

Dynamic range
The span between the noise floor and saturation. The range drops steadily as gain rises, from around 12 to under 8 stops across the plot.

Read noise
Noise introduced when the sensor is read. The plotted noise drops from about 3 to around 1.6 electrons RMS.

Relative spectral response
Relative monochrome response peaks in the green, then falls through the red and near infrared.
