ZWO
ZWO ASI4400MC-P Pro Cooled Astronomy Camera
$4,799.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
Full-frame one-shot colour with 4.4 µm pixels
The ASI4400MC Pro uses a back-illuminated Sony IMX366 colour sensor for deep-sky imaging across a 36 × 24 mm field.
Frame large targets
The 8192 × 5460 array has a 43.3 mm diagonal. Pair it with an optical train that covers the full sensor.
Capture brighter detail
ZWO pairs the 4.4 µm pixels with native 14-bit conversion.
Choose a gain for the target
At this setting the camera engages HCG to reduce read noise. ZWO’s performance plot shows the trade-off across the full gain range.
Cooling and calibration for long exposures
Two-stage cooling helps reduce dark current. The camera suppresses sensor glow in hardware and some residual glow can remain, so plan to calibrate with dark frames. A built-in heater helps keep dew off the protective window.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturating. The low-gain end is marked at 74,600 electrons, and capacity falls as gain rises. The vertical scale is logarithmic.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. ZWO marks the point near one electron per count at gain 132.

Dynamic range
The gap between the noise floor and saturation. The curve recovers to about 13 stops at the high conversion gain transition, then declines again.

Read noise
The noise introduced when the sensor is read. At gain 136, the plot shows a drop from nearly 6 e⁻ to about 1.6 e⁻ RMS.

Relative colour response
The curves compare how the red, green and blue channels respond to wavelength. The green trace is strongest around 540 nm. The plotted percentages are relative to the peak response.

Dark current versus temperature
Charge that accumulates even with no light. ZWO measured about 0.002 electrons per pixel per second at −20 °C and 0.223 at 30 °C. The vertical scale is logarithmic.
