This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
Cooled monochrome capture into the short-wave infrared
The ASI992MM Pro is a cooled monochrome camera built around Sony’s IMX992 InGaAs sensor for visible and short-wave infrared imaging.
Sample a SWIR field
The 2592 × 2056 array uses 3.45 µm pixels across an active area of approximately 8.94 × 7.09 mm.
Capture a rapid sequence
ZWO lists 12-bit conversion and a 256 MB DDR3 buffer alongside USB 3.0.
Plan gain and exposure
The model-specific curves show how full well, read noise and dynamic range vary with gain.
Cool the sensor for longer SWIR exposures
ZWO’s ASI992MM Pro dark-current plot shows how strongly dark current varies with temperature. Its two-stage TEC system is rated at 35–40 °C below ambient at a 30 °C test temperature.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturating. The curve starts at about 62,800 electrons and falls as gain rises. The vertical scale is logarithmic.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. ZWO marks the conversion factor near one electron per count around gain 210.

Dynamic range
The gap between the noise floor and saturation. It rises back above 8 stops at the high conversion gain transition, then declines.

Read noise
The noise introduced when the sensor is read. At the transition marked near gain 48, it drops from roughly 170 e⁻ to about 100 e⁻ RMS.

Relative SWIR response
The curve shows sensitivity relative to its own peak. It stays strong in the short-wave infrared before dropping sharply beyond about 1650 nm.

Absolute quantum efficiency
The percentage of incident photons detected by the sensor. ZWO’s curve reaches about 80% around 1200 nm.

Dark current versus sensor temperature
Charge that accumulates even with no light. ZWO measured 3.6 electrons per pixel per second at −35 °C and 64.4 at 0 °C. The vertical scale is logarithmic.
