ZWO
ZWO ASI533MM Pro Cooled Mono CMOS Camera
$1,599.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
A square monochrome frame for deep-sky imaging
The ASI533MM Pro uses a cooled, square Sony IMX533 monochrome sensor with 3.76 µm pixels.
Compose a square field
Both sides of the 1″ optical-format sensor measure 11.31 mm.
Read the mono response
The ASI533MM Pro has its own spectral response curve on ZWO’s page.
Capture a broad range of signals
ZWO pairs this full-well rating with a 14-bit ADC.
Two-stage cooling for longer integrations
The TEC system cools the sensor to reduce dark current. ZWO also shows the zero-amp-glow behaviour using example dark frames.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturation. The low-gain end is marked around 50,000 electrons and falls as gain rises.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. The plot marks a conversion factor near one electron per count around gain 100.

Dynamic range
The span between the noise floor and saturation. It recovers around gain 100 before declining at higher settings.

Read noise
Noise introduced when the sensor is read. The plot shows a sharp drop in read noise at gain 100.

Quantum efficiency
The monochrome quantum efficiency peaks just above 90% in the blue and falls towards 1000 nm.

Dark current versus temperature
The plot shows charge accumulating even with no light. ZWO marks approximately 0.00012 electrons per pixel per second at −20 °C.
