- A complete digiscoping solution: NexYZ connects your smartphone to almost any eyepiece
- NexYZ’s patented design works with telescopes (with most 1.25” or 2” eyepieces), spotting scopes, binoculars, monoculars, and microscopes (with the included adapter rings).
- Works with virtually all smartphone models, including the latest devices from Apple, Samsung, and Google.
- Features three directional knobs (X-, Y-, and Z-axis) that perfectly align your phone’s camera with the eyepiece in seconds. In addition, you can make tension adjustments to keep the phone firmly in place.
- Stands up to rigorous field use thanks to its robust, durable construction with a metal frame and polymer body.
The NexYZ 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter is a great first step into the world of astroimaging or digiscoping. The NexYZ provides you everything you need to capture sharp, detailed images and video.
Patented NexYZ Smartphone Adapter
NexYZ fits any eyepiece from 35mm to 60mm in diameter, including telescopes equipped with 1.25” or 2” eyepieces, spotting scopes, monoculars, and binoculars. It also attaches to microscopes with the addition of an included adapter ring, which takes the usable diameter down to 25mm, the size of a standard microscope eyepiece.
NexYZ accommodates a wide range of smartphones including the larger “phablets” like the iPhone 11 Plus and latest Samsung Galaxy devices. The phone platform is fully adjustable and can fit any device—usually with the case still on. The secure platform stands up to the weight of these heavier devices with ease, thanks to NexYZ’s strong metal spring and threaded twist lock. Should you need to tighten the tension on each axis for a customized secure connection, click the Support & Downloads tab to read our NexYZ Tension Adjustment Guide.
Easy as X-Y-Z
What makes NexYZ’s patented design different from other smartphone adapters? The three-axis adjustment. Most adapters rely on you placing your phone perfectly on the platform and only offer limited adjustment in two axes. But NexYZ gives you the power to place your phone on the platform, center it over the eyepiece with the X and Y knobs, and then move up or down over the eyepiece until you have the entire field of view in your shot.
And even though this adjustment is ultra-precise, it’s still quicker and easier to use than other adapters. From start to finish, the process only takes about 30 seconds, including the time it takes to insert the phone into NexYZ, attach NexYZ to an eyepiece, start the camera app, and center the camera over the eyepiece using the knobs.
Switching phones, eyepieces, or optical instruments, requires only slight adjustments to re-center the camera over the new eyepiece. If multiple people want to capture a shot through your optic, NexYZ’s simple spring-loaded clamps make it easy to remove one device and replace it with another in seconds. NexYZ is the ideal solution for star parties and group bird walks where everyone wants their own shot of the action.
You can also switch your image from portrait to landscape simply by turning the padded eyepiece clamp and readjusting the X-, Y-, and Z-axis to realign your phone with the eyepiece.
NOTE: NexYZ is compatible with telescopes, spotting scopes, binoculars, monoculars, and microscopes. It does not fit riflescopes. NexYZ works with most phone cases, but if you have an especially large phone case with built-in batteries or a folio-style case, you will need to remove it.
Praise for NexYZ
“Unlike other adapters, the NexYZ features three directional knobs (X, Y and Z axes) that perfectly align your phone’s camera with the scope eyepiece in seconds. In addition, you can make tension adjustments to keep the phone firmly in place and, rather pleasingly, the clamp system allows the phone to be positioned to capture images in landscape mode as opposed to portrait, which is so often the hallmark of most smartphone images.” – from Expert Reviews, Birdwatch magazine, November 2018
“Fitting the phone to the adapter is simple and quick, and the phone is held securely in place – no need to worry about it dropping out as you move around. You then adjust the phone’s position using the X and Y axis knobs – this too is easy and relatively quick. Finally, the Z axis knob enables you to lower or raise the phone to eliminate vignetting.” – Matt Merritt, “Unlock your phone’s potential,” Gear Reviews, Birdwatching magazine, August 2018

Enjoy the most dazzling views of nebulae with your Celestron Origin when you add this H-alpha H-beta OIII (Hα-Hβ-OIII) imaging filter. This specialized filter allows high throughput of light wavelengths in emission nebulae while blocking other wavelengths that could diminish image quality and detail. The result is bright, colorful nebulae images that “pop” with detail against the black sky background.
How does the Nebula Filter for Origin work? Emission nebulae primarily emit at discrete wavelengths of light—Hα at 656nm, Hβ at 486nm, and OIII at 496/501nm. By strategically transmitting only these wavelengths of light and blocking the rest of the spectrum, the filter dramatically reduces the effect of light pollution. The “bad” light is blocked while the “good” light associated with emission nebulae passes through to Origin’s sensor.
You’ll immediately notice much higher contrast in your images, especially from your light-polluted backyard! And since the transmission at the critical wavelengths is so high, the nebula will not be dimmed—only the background will be blacker. You’ll also notice some contrast improvement in images of nebulae from darker skies, as the filter serves well in blocking natural skyglow.
Nebula Hunting
The Nebula Filter is perfect for imaging emission nebulae like the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), Lagoon Nebula (M8), Orion Nebula (M42), the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372), and dozens more. The imaging filter offers maximum light transmission in the key Hα-Hβ-OIII wavelengths, producing high contrast for emission nebulae like these.
The transmission spectrum for the Nebula Filter is 85% or greater at key wavelengths (486nm, 496nm/501nm, 656nm) and less than 0.5% transmission elsewhere. As a narrowband filter, it blocks much of the visible spectrum and only lets these specific wavelengths through. Because of this, you should not use this filter while observing or imaging broadband emission objects, such as galaxies and star clusters. For those objects, you’ll achieve the best results by removing the nebula filter and reinstalling Origin’s clear optical window.
Other similar imaging filters on the market have much narrower bandpasses at the critical Hα-Hβ-OIII wavelengths. Unfortunately, these filters block much of the incoming Hα-Hβ-OIII light for an f/2.2 optical system like Origin’s 6” RASA. This is because a RASA brings light into the filter at a steeper angle, which causes a spectral shift. If you use filters not explicitly designed for use at f/2.2, some of the light from the nebula will be blocked, resulting in a dimmer image. The Nebula Filter for Origin was custom-engineered to work at f/2.2, so none of the “good” light from the nebula is inadvertently blocked by the filter.
Body and Storage
The filter features a machined aluminum black anodized cell with a knurled rim for easy grip during installation. We’ve added anti-reflection coatings to help suppress reflections on the glass. The filter fits directly into the filter drawer in the Celestron Origin’s front lens cell, where the optical window sits. Simply remove the clear window and replace it with the filter. Origin maintains its optical performance across the entire system with the filter installed. No other adapter is needed.
Each filter comes with a foam-lined plastic storage case to safely store the filter or the optical window glass that came with your Celestron Origin when not in use.
Celestron tests every Nebula Filter for Origin individually to verify its performance. Along with your filter, you will receive a spectral transmission graph (like the one pictured above) showing the results of your filter’s test and verifying it performs as expected throughout the spectrum.
Please note this is for the Celestron Origin Intelligent Home Observatory

To achieve the best astroimages, it is important to attain the proper back-focus distance for your camera relative to the telescope it is being used with. If the back-focus distance your camera consumes is not exact, the performance at the corners of full frame imaging sensors will suffer—stars will appear elongated and not as pinpoints.
Example: RASA 8 with a ZWO ASI 183 MC PRO camera
- Required back-focus distance for RASA 8 with included M42 camera adapter: 25mm
- Back-focus consumed by ZWO ASI 183 MC PRO camera: 17.5mm
- To achieve equal back-focus distance, a 7.5mm M42 spacer ring is required
Celestron’s M42 Spacer Ring kit includes three different length spacer rings to achieve the proper back-focus distance with our popular Celestron optical tubes and T-thread camera adapters.
How to Use
Depending your method of astrophotography (DSLR or CCD/CMOS), there are two ways to use the M42 Spacer Ring. If you are using a DSLR, place the desired M42 Spacer Ring between your T-Ring and your T-Adapter for your optical tube. If you are using a CCD or CMOS camera, place the desired M42 Spacer Ring between the camera and the T-Adapter for your optical tube.
Below is a quick guide to help you determine which spacer ring to use for our EdgeHD, Schmidt-Cassegrain, and RASA 8 optical tubes:
| Spacer Ring Size: | Works best with: |
| 7.5mm | Provides proper spacing with RASA 8 for many ZWO cameras |
| 12mm | Provides proper spacing with RASA 8 for many Atik cameras |
| 30mm | Converts ZWO camera w/filter slider to 55mm back-focus standard for use with Schmidt-Cassegrain & EdgeHD |

Bintel UHC Narrowband Filter – 1.25"
The Bintel UHC Narrowband Filter is designed to dramatically improve contrast when visually observing emission nebulae, especially from light-polluted suburban and city skies. By selectively passing key nebular emission lines while blocking common artificial light sources, it helps faint objects stand out more clearly against a darker background sky.
Unlike broadband filters, the UHC’s narrower passband delivers stronger contrast on classic nebulae such as The Orion Nebula, The Carina Nebula, The Lagoon Nebula and so many more. Even under urban lighting, brighter nebulae become easier to detect, while dark-sky observers will appreciate the added structure and subtle detail revealed.
Advanced multilayer dielectric coatings provide excellent transmission (over 97% across the passband) while fully blocking major light pollution lines. This high efficiency makes the filter particularly effective with small to medium aperture telescopes. Ion beam–hardened coatings ensure long-term durability and scratch resistance.

The Celestron StarPointer Finderscope is the way to go if you want the easiest way possible to locate an object and center it in your eyepiece.
A red dot finder, unlike an optical finder, has 1x magnification, displays a super wide field of view, and keeps the sky right side up and left-to-right correct, matching what you see with your unaided eyes. An LED creates a red dot, superimposed on a viewing screen, so you simply point the StarPointer to the area or object you wish to observe, look through your eyepiece, and if properly aligned, the area in and around place you pointed the red dot will be centered in the field of view.
If you like the idea of having some magnification, try installing both a red dot and optical finder on your telescope. Schmidt-Cassegrain and EdgeHD telescopes have multiple mounting bracket holes so you can get the best of both worlds. Just make sure to align both of them correctly, and you’ll get the best use out of each of your finders.
How to Align the StarPointer Finderscope
The first time you use your finder, you need to align it. This one-time setup procedure should be done during the day. Take the telescope outside and find an easily recognizable object, such as a streetlight, car license plate, or tall tree. The object should be as far away as possible, but at least a quarter mile away. Move the telescope left and right or up and down so that it is roughly pointing at the object. Look through the telescope using your low power eyepiece and move the telescope until the object you chose lies in the center of the view. Once the object is centered in your eyepiece, turn on the red dot. With your head positioned about a foot behind the finder, look through the round lens of the finder and locate the red dot. Without moving the telescope, use the two adjustment knobs located on the side and underneath the finder. One controls the left-right motion of the dot. The other controls the up-down motion of the dot. Adjust both of these until the red dot appears over the same object you are observing in the eyepiece.
Your finder is now aligned and should not require realignment unless it is bumped or dropped. You can even take the finder off the telescope and reattach it while preserving alignment.

The Celestron 2” Luminos Barlow Lens increases the magnification of your 2” and 1.25” eyepieces by 2.5x. The premium 4-element apochromatic optics are fully multi-coated for optimum light transmission and yield high contrast, true colour images.
The beautiful hard-anodized aluminum housing matches the eyepieces in the Celestron Luminos line. A centralized rubber grip helps to keep your hands securely on the barrel, even when your fingers are cold or you are wearing gloves. A brass compression ring just inside the top of the Luminos 2.5x Barlow grabs your 2” eyepieces gently but firmly when you turn the oversized thumbscrew. Once the thumbscrew has been secured in place, the brass ring keeps your eyepiece in the Barlow instead of relying on the tip of the thumbscrew itself, offering a better grip and protecting the barrel from scratches. A matching 2” to 1.25” adapter is included so that you can increase the magnification of all of your eyepieces, both 1.25” and 2”, in this versatile Barlow lens.
The insert barrel of the Celestron Luminos 2.5x Barlow is threaded to accept 2” filters. This is a nice feature, because you can change eyepieces without removing and reattaching the filter each time.

The Lunt Solar Systems Pressure Tuner Controller, or PC-USB, is a microprocessor controlled, remote operable* , pressure control system that can be retrofitted to any Lunt PT product without return to the Lunt facility. A simple 1/8″ airline connects the PC-USB to the Solar Telescope and can be installed at any length.
The PC-USB is a simple 2 button system. One button for increasing and one button for decreasing the PT pressure. Digital feedback and indicator lights are provided.
The PC-USB can run continuously on internal battery power for more than 12 hours. It has external power input (12-15 VDC) (120/240 VAC to 12 V adapter) that can power the unit and charge the internal batteries simultaneously.
All existing PT systems can be retrofitted via an adapter to the pressure tuner knob. Or, future PT units can be specified with a quick disconnect at the PT input, removing the PT knob from the telescope altogether.
Upon power up the PC-USB will go thru a systems vent and ambient pressure set mode. It can be factory or user programmed to center wavelength setpoint. Due to the sealed nature of the system, the center wavelength setpoint will remain constant at any altitude at a given set pressure point.
The Pressure Tuner Controller is accurate to 0.3 PSI, providing very precise control of the pressure setpoint. It will auto-compensate for fluctuations in internal pressure changes due to significant changes in temperature. Because the PC-USB can provide closed-loop feedback of internal etalon pressure, users can correlate change in pressure to doppler shifted events.
