The Celestron Off Axis Guider is an essential astroimaging accessory for long focal length telescopes that require the most accurate guiding possible. The Celestron Off Axis Guider uses a prism to intercept a small portion of the telescope’s focal plane (outside the field of view of the main imaging camera) to locate a guide star. Any movement seen by the guide star will be the exact same movement seen by the imaging camera. Guiding this way will correct for tracking errors, as well as opto-mechanical errors or flexure. The result: better astroimages with pinpoint round stars.
Off Axis Guiders have been around for a long time, but typically pose three main challenges:
Finding a guide star from the far edges of the telescope’s focal plane can be difficult, considering the small field of view and sometimes less-than-ideal illumination.
Getting both imaging camera and autoguider to reach focus with one another is time consuming and sometimes requires experimentation.
Additional spacers and adapters are usually required for your particular camera, telescope, and autoguider, which adds to cost and complexity.
The Celestron Off Axis Guider addresses these challenges by:
Providing a large 12.5mm prism that can be adjusted to move closer to the center of the telescope’s focal plane, depending on the size of the imaging camera. This results in brighter guide stars, with the help of the large prism to fully illuminate the autoguider sensor.
Featuring a high-quality, fixed-orientation Helical focuser. This provides extremely smooth and accurate focus of the autoguider without changing (or twisting) the autoguider camera orientation.
Including all the needed spacers and adapters are included for most common imaging configurations, including DSLR cameras, Nightscape CCD cameras, and more. The following adapters are included: SCT/EdgeHD, female M48, female M42 (T-thread), male M48, male M42 (T-thread), 3 T-thread spacers
Additonal Specifications
Helical Focuser Travel: 8mm
Telescope Connection: M42 T-thread, M48, and SCT/EdgeHD
Autoguider Connection: M42 T-thread, and standard 1.25" adapter
Camera Connection: M42 T-thread, and M48

The NEW ZWO ASI 662MC One Shot Color Camera with High Sensitivity
The new ZWO ASI 662MC adopts the Sony IMX662 sensor, has a rolling shutter, a frame size of 1/2.8", and a pixel size of 2.9um, and has 2.07million pixels (1920 x 1080). In high-speed mode, the CMOS sensor can output 102.6 frames per second at full resolution and provide a low read noise level.
Large Full Well capacity, not easy to overexposure
The ZWO ASI 662MC adopts the Sony 662MC sensor with the latest technology. Compared to the previous generation of sensors, it has a very low readout noise and extremely large full well capacity which is 3 times larger than that of the IMX462MC. This helps effectively with overexposure issues and allows longer exposure s. In low light conditions, the camera performs excellently, capturing very clear images of celestial objects.
STARVIS 2
ZWO ASI 662MC adopts the latest Sony IMX662 sensor with advanced STARVIS 2 technology. Featuring zero amp glow, higher sensitivity to red and Near Infrared (NIR) light, 3 times the full well capacity. it can be regarded as an upgrade of the ASI462MC. Also, its dark current noise is several times lower than the ASI462MC.
USB3.0 and 256M DDR Memory
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed.
No Amp Glow
ZWO ASI 662MC exhibits zero amp glow, no matter how long the exposure and how high the gain value is. Since it is implemented directly at the hardware level, it does not require software control.
300 Second exposure with ASI 462MC
300 Second exposure with ASI662MC
Quantum Efficiency
The QE curve and noise readout are very important parameters to measure the camera's performance. Higher QE and lower readout noise are necessary to improve the image signal-to-noise ratio.
Camera Curve low read noise, high dynamic range
Readout noise includes pixel noise, circuit noise, and ADC quantization noise. The lower the readout noise, the better. As can be seen, the readout noise of the ZWO ASI 662MC is very low compared to CCD camera. The built-in HCG mode can effectively reduce the readout noise at high gain and allow the camera to maintain the same high dynamic range as it does at low gain. When the gain is 252, the HCG mode is automatically tuned on and the dynamic range rises back to 12-bit.

The 15 mm Kellner eyepiece offers a nice medium magnification view in most telescopes, and the 6 mm Plossl provides high magnifications, great for the Moon and planets, especially when seeing conditions are good.
2x Barlow Lens - Insert the 2x Barlow Lens between the eyepiece and the telescope and it doubles the magnification of any 1.25” eyepiece. That means the 15 mm Kellner included in this kit will double in power, effectively becoming a 7.5 mm eyepiece, and the 6 mm will provide the magnification of a 3 mm. Any other 1.25” eyepieces you already have will also work in this versatile accessory, giving you even more magnification choices. Remember, high magnifications do not always produce clear, sharp results, especially on evenings of poor or moderate seeing conditions. Experiment to find the magnifications that are best for you and your telescope. T-threads are machined into this Barlow lens, allowing a user to attach a DSLR camera with the addition of an optional T-ring.
Filters - Colored filters can be used to bring out certain details on a planet’s surface or its cloud structure. Both planetary filters, as well as the Moon filter, can be used on any 1.25” eyepiece with the proper filter threads, so they are very versatile. Just screw one onto your eyepiece of choice and slide it into the focuser.
The #80A is a medium-blue filter that enhances the contrast of the cloud belts on Jupiter and the polar ice caps on Saturn. It also can be used to increase contrast on the Moon if you don’t mind the color shift.
The #25 filter is a deep red color and is a good choice when you want to define the polar ice caps on Mars. It’s also fun to use this filter when observing Jupiter. The #25 Red filter blocks quite a bit of light coming through your telescope, however, so it is best used on bright objects with larger aperture telescopes.
The Moon filter is one of the first accessories most new amateur astronomers buy, and for good reason! It helps block out a portion of the light the Moon sends into your eyepiece so that you can see details better. You can also try this filter on Venus; it helps you see the planet’s phases.
Cleaning Cloth & Case: Keep the micro-fiber cleaning cloth stashed in your AstroMaster Accessory Kit case so that it will always be handy. It’s much better to use a micro-fiber cloth on your optics than other wipes or tissue, as it does not leave a residue, and can be reused. Remember to blow or brush any dust particles off of your optics before rubbing them with the cloth.
The black plastic carry case has die-cut foam inside to protect and cushion your accessories. Keep each one in its appointed place when not in use and you’ll keep them looking and performing like new.
ASI174MM Mini camera integrates Sony IMX174LLJ / IMX174LQJ 1/1.2″ sensor (11.3 mm x 7.1 mm). It is the first model in the “mini”-series of cameras from ZWO. This camera has 1936 x 1216 pixels with a pixel size of 5.86 μm x 5.86 μm. It camera provides 12-bit ADC and its QE peak is 77%.
Astrophotography Performance
ASI174MM mini camera offers you very good performance for planetary imaging as well as for guiding. Low read noise, high dynamic range, AR protective window and much more are just some of the key characteristics that set it apart from the competition.
USB2.0Port & ST4 Port
USB 2.0 Port: Mini camera has one USB2.0 type-C port. Type-C port is very popular in mobile phones, as it doesn’t matter which way you connect it (unlike for example type-A or type-B)
#USB-C to USB-A cable is required.
ST4 Port: The camera can be connected directly to the auto-guider port of the mount.
High Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the first thing we considered. This is of course a crucial ability when looking for a star to guide on. So, from the beginning, we were set on using monochrome sensors to design our guide cameras. Because monochrome sensors have much higher sensitivity than their colour counterpart. Luckily the ASI120MM Mini, ASI290MM Mini and ASI174MM Mini all have very high QE peak value – about 80%, which can detect more stars in view and shorten the exposure time in guiding.
Each of the cameras have their own strength and depending on what you value in a guide camera, one might be better for you than the others.

ASI183MC Pro
Introducing the ASI183 camera series, the most sensitive cameras in ZWO history. Peak Q.E. of the mono sensor reaches 84%!
▶IMX183CLK-J/CQJ-J
Diagonal 15.86 mm Approx. 20.48M-Effective Pixel Monochrome/Color CMOS Image Sensor
▶High-Speed and High-Picture-Quality Rolling Shutter-Type Back-Illuminated CMOS Image Sensors
In the astronomic application field, Sony IMX183CLK-J (monochrome) and IMX183CQJ-J (color) sensors uses a very high sensitivity back-illuminated structure with high resolution 2.4 μm square unit pixel. The optical size is 1 inch.
DDR Memory Buffer
The ASI183 Pro camera includes a 256MB DDR3 memory buffer to help improve data transfer reliability. Additionally, the use of a memory buffer minimizes amp-glow, which is caused by the slow transfer speeds when the camera is used with a USB 2.0 port.
Astrophotography Performance
The ASI183 cameras has a very large full well capacity(15000e) for such small pixel size, 1.6e read noise @ 30DB, and 12stops dynamic range @ Gain=0. The ASI183 cameras also utilize firmware features to minimize amplifier glow for maximum performance in astrophotography.
Reliable Mechanics
ASI183 Pro has same mechanics as ASI1600 Pro. There are four screws that seal the sensor chamber. Our camera design has been extensively tested and is very stable.
Even when used in higher humidity environments, ASI183 Pro will still work fine without dew problems.
High Speed
Fast FPS can be used in solar and lunar imaging, as well as for live viewing/EAA.The high speed readout may also be used for real-time focusing, true lucky imaging of double stars and other small objects, planetary imaging of the major planets in the solar system, and much more.

High QE
Sony’s back-illuminated Exmor R technology, giving it excellent Deep Sky performance. ASI183 QE peak reaches a remarkable 84%. In Ha channel, QE is still over 60%.
Having high QE means more of the light that enters your telescope and reaches the sensor is actually used. With 84% peak Q.E. and no less than ~50% within the visible spectrum, the ASI183 will utilize a high percentage of the light that reaches it, improving your signal quality.
Dark Current
The dark current of the ASI183 is extremely low, based on our test results.
