ZWO Duo-Band Filter is a dual narrowband filter primarily aimed at complementing our range of colour ASI cameras. The Duo-Band filter is aimed at the astronomer who may already own a One Shot Colour (OSC) camera and wants to image using narrowband techniques or emission objects without purchasing a mono camera, filter wheel and narrowband filter set.
The Duo-Band filter offers an economical entry into the world of narrowband imaging and can also offer a practical solution to imaging in light polluted urban areas.
The dual band pass nature of the Duo-Band filter passes light at Hα (656nm) and OIII (500nm) wavelength, and can reduce the interference from natural light sources such as moonlight, or artificial light pollution such as street lighting.
It can help improve the contrast and visibility of deep sky objects such as emission nebula using a OSC (One Shot Colour) camera.
If you are looking for a solution to deep sky photography in light pollution area, then ZWO Duo-Band Filter will be a great choice.
The Duo-Band filter can be used with all ASI cameras and EFW Electronic Filter Wheel and comes in 1.25” and 2” sizes.
Precision CNC machined from Aircraft grade alloys, hard anodised finished Cell with Laser engravings, finely polished optical surface to ensure 1/4 wavefront and <30 arc seconds parallelism over the both surfaces. Precise double sided coatings with anti-reflection coatings

Winner, The 2017 RZS NSW Whitley Medal
Winner, The 2018 Australian Book Industry Awards: Small Publishers' Adult Book of the Year
Reviews:
"Like looking through a new pair of binoculars, The Australian Bird Guide makes it seem like you are seeing even familiar birds for the first time."
Sean Dooley, Editor, Australian Birdlife
"This field guide is an invaluable reference for anyone with an interest in this country’s birdlife."
Gardening Australia, November 2019
"Books, such as The Australian Bird Guide, are important for the conservation of Australia’s flora and fauna; they bring nature to people and enable everyone to identify and take joy in the birds, other animals, and plants that we share the world with."
Harry F. Recher, Pacific Conservation Biology 26(1) 2020
Reviews of the First Edition (May 2017):
"a gorgeous lure to spend more time in nature."
Susan Wyndham, "2017 Books of the Year", Australian Book Review #397, December 2017
"The illustrations are amazing. Each is the purest and most accurate depiction of a species possible: the absolute platonic ideal of itself...
Kate-Gorringe-Smith, Australian Birdlife, June 2017
"Not only does The Australian Bird Guide successfully provide a rich, contemporary bird identification book, it has the potential to play a far more significant cultural role – in cataloguing the full extent of the glorious variety of Australian birds it becomes a palpable celebration of the wonder of nature."
Sean Dooley, Sydney Morning Herald online, 28/7/17
"If you are looking at getting a field guide to the birds of Australia, the ABG is undoubtably the best."
Michael Szabo, Birds New Zealand (14), June 2017
"Compared with all other Australian bird guides, the text and most of the illustrations are on a higher level... The cornucopia of high quality illustrations – including numerous smaller sketch-ups illustrating such things as foraging behaviours, honeyeater corroborees, and size comparisons with similar possible species – puts the guide in the upper echelon of bird guides globally... For me, this volume by Menkhorst and colleagues has become my new favourite."
Eliot Miller, Emu - Austral Ornithology 117(3), July 2017
"Birds are illustrated in poses that best highlight diagnostic features. Seabirds are depicted almost exclusively in flight, precisely as most will encounter them at sea. The text is detailed without being too over-the-top, featuring all of the expected information and including helpful notes on recent taxonomic changes, distributional information that might be too granular to identify on the maps, and behavioural notes which might assist finding the bird and separating it from confusing species. The maps are clear and show all subspecies."
Chris Watson, Australian Birdlife, June 2017
"the ABG is undeniably the most comprehensive field guide to be published in Australia to date, surpassing previous guides in the quantity and accuracy of illustrations and pertinent information."
Richard Noske, Australian Book Review, October 2017

A secondary mirror (or secondary) is the second deflecting or focusing mirror element in a reflecting telescope. Light gathered by the primary mirror is directed towards a focal point typically past the location of the secondary. Secondary mirrors in the form of an optically flat diagonal mirror are used to re-direct the light path in designs such as Newtonian reflectors.

10× reach.
The widest view.
133 m field of view at 1,000 m — the widest of any top-tier 10×42. SWAROVISION field flattener lenses. 92% light transmission. The NL Pure 10×42 is built for birders who want both reach and an immersive, edge-to-edge-sharp view. Handcrafted in Austria.
10× with no trade-off. Handcrafted in Absam, Austria. The NL Pure 10×42 puts distant birds in razor-sharp relief, across the widest view a 10×42 can deliver.
Field flattener lenses. 133 m of sharp, edge to edge.
At 10×, edge sharpness matters more than ever. The NL Pure’s patented field flattener lenses counteract field curvature so that all 133 m of your view — at 1,000 m distance — stays in razor-sharp focus from the centre right out to the rim. No softening. No distortion. Just the bird.
Natural ergonomic grip. Hours of use without fatigue.
Into dusk. Then deeper.
A 4.2 mm exit pupil and 92% light transmission keep the image bright well past the point other 10×42 binoculars give up. The 42 mm objective gathers light long after the sun drops below the treeline.
Submersible to 4 m depth.
Nitrogen-purged to prevent fogging. Sealed to 4 metres. Weather is not a reason to leave the NL Pure at home.
10× power. Held for hours, not minutes.
Higher magnification amplifies hand shake. The NL Pure 10×42 is designed to minimise it: the wasp-waist housing brings your hands to the optimal balance point, while the optional FieldPro forehead rest lets you brace against your brow for a genuinely steady image — even at 10× on a shaky clifftop.
The pinnacle 10×42. Considered in every detail.
From the machined focus wheel to the SWAROVISION field flattener lenses and phase-coated BaK-4 prisms, the NL Pure 10×42 represents decades of Austrian optical engineering at its most refined.
The pinnacle 10×42. Every reason to choose NL Pure.
133 m field of view at 1,000 m — the widest of any top-tier 10×42 binocular. Exceptional 10× reach, without the narrow-tunnel feeling of most high-magnification designs.
SWAROVISION field flattener lenses deliver sharp, distortion-free images to the very edge of the view.
18 mm eye relief with seven eyecup positions. Full field of view with or without eyeglasses.
92% light transmission and 4.2 mm exit pupil. Sharp, colour-accurate views at 10× from dawn chorus right into dusk.
Wasp-waist ergonomic housing sits naturally in the hand. Comfortable for extended observation sessions.
Compatible with the full FieldPro accessory system: forehead rest, wide strap lug, and tripod adapter — especially valuable at 10× for reducing hand shake.
Close focus of just 2 m for butterflies, wildflowers, and birds at arm’s reach.
Nitrogen-purged and waterproof to 4 m. Sealed against moisture, fog, and Australian field conditions.
Adapt to every situation.
The NL Pure 10×42 is the foundation. The FieldPro accessory system builds on it. Attach the forehead rest for steady, fatigue-free observation at high magnification. Add the wide strap lug for a more comfortable carry. Mount the tripod adapter for extended long-distance scanning — everything clicks in without tools.
Swarovski NL Pure 10×42. Every number.
Built in Austria. Backed by Bintel.

Effortless Close-Range Observation
The Papilio series features the PENTAX-developed Convergent Lens Optical System Engineering mechanism, which automatically slides the left and right objective lenses toward the center when the focus is fixed at a short distance. As a result, the right and left image fields are correctly aligned to facilitate close-range viewing. Thanks to its go-anywhere portability, this new series is also ideal for conventional binocular subjects, including spectator sports, travel and hiking.
-
Extra-Short Minimum Focusing Distance
The Papilio series offers a minimum focusing distance of just 50 centimeters (approx. 1.6 feet), considerably shorter than the two-meter distance (approx. 6.5 feet) offered by similar PENTAX models currently on the market.
-
Outstanding Optical Performance
The Papilio series features multi-coated optical elements to minimize unwanted light reflections for a well-defined subject image. The combination of aspherical optical elements and high-refraction BaK4 glass prisms assures a sharp, clear image with minimal distortion, even at the edges.
-
Long Eye Relief
The Papilio series offers a long 15-millimeter eye relief to assure effortless viewing of the entire image field, even for eyeglass wearers.
-
Protective Rubber Housing
The protective rubber housing not only protects inner mechanism from external shock, but also assures a firm, comfortable grip of the binocular body even in the field.

Celestron has joined forces with master lunar cartographer Ralph Aeschliman on a two-sided Moon Map. This quality map provides you a great way to familiarize yourself with the Moon, our neighboring world. Whether you are looking for Lacus, Maria, Montes, or Valles, the Moon map will help you navigate the lunar landscape with confidence. You can observe features with your telescope and locate them on the map or vice versa. This map also features a directory of all the key lunar regions with coordinates to find them.
On the reverse side of the map, there are close-up photos and information about the most exciting lunar regions to explore. You’ll also find images of the North and South polar regions for reference. Refer to the lunar observing tips for practical information about using your telescope or binoculars to explore the Moon.
The Observer's Map of the Moon is waterproof, tear-resistant, and can be folded into an 20cm x 10cm size, making it easy to take along on your next camping trip, star party, or evening in your backyard. When not in use, the Moon map will be a stylish decorative poster on your wall. It makes a great display for your classroom or astronomy club.
Whether you are just beginning or an advanced observer, you will find yourself viewing the Moon again and again; have the Observer's Map of the Moon be your guide.
Eyepieces - The 15 mm and 6 mm eyepieces can be used in any telescope with a 1.25” focuser. Each eyepiece is fully coated to improve light transmission and protect the optics. The 15 mm Kellner eyepiece offers a nice medium magnification view in most telescopes, and the 6 mm Plossl provides high magnifications, great for the Moon and planets, especially when seeing conditions are good.
2x Barlow Lens - Insert the 2x Barlow Lens between the eyepiece and the telescope and it doubles the magnification of any 1.25” eyepiece. That means the 15 mm Kellner included in this kit will double in power, effectively becoming a 7.5 mm eyepiece, and the 6 mm will provide the magnification of a 3 mm. Any other 1.25” eyepieces you already have will also work in this versatile accessory, giving you even more magnification choices. Remember, high magnifications do not always produce clear, sharp results, especially on evenings of poor or moderate seeing conditions. Experiment to find the magnifications that are best for you and your telescope. T-threads are machined into this Barlow lens, allowing a user to attach a DSLR camera with the addition of an optional T-ring.
Filters - Colored filters can be used to bring out certain details on a planet’s surface or its cloud structure. Both planetary filters, as well as the Moon filter, can be used on any 1.25” eyepiece with the proper filter threads, so they are very versatile. Just screw one onto your eyepiece of choice and slide it into the focuser.
The #80A is a medium-blue filter that enhances the contrast of the cloud belts on Jupiter and the polar ice caps on Saturn. It also can be used to increase contrast on the Moon if you don’t mind the color shift.
The #25 filter is a deep red color and is a good choice when you want to define the polar ice caps on Mars. It’s also fun to use this filter when observing Jupiter. The #25 Red filter blocks quite a bit of light coming through your telescope, however, so it is best used on bright objects with larger aperture telescopes.
The Moon filter is one of the first accessories most new amateur astronomers buy, and for good reason! It helps block out a portion of the light the Moon sends into your eyepiece so that you can see details better. You can also try this filter on Venus; it helps you see the planet’s phases.
Cleaning Cloth & Case: Keep the micro-fiber cleaning cloth stashed in your AstroMaster Accessory Kit case so that it will always be handy. It’s much better to use a micro-fiber cloth on your optics than other wipes or tissue, as it does not leave a residue, and can be reused. Remember to blow or brush any dust particles off of your optics before rubbing them with the cloth.
The black plastic carry case has die-cut foam inside to protect and cushion your accessories. Keep each one in its appointed place when not in use and you’ll keep them looking and performing like new.
