ZWO
ZWO ASI664MC Colour Camera
$479.00
This product will be available for sale in 2 weeks, but you can pre-order now to receive 10% discount!
Fast colour capture for planets and the Moon
The ASI664MC uses the Sony IMX664 colour sensor and 2.9 µm pixels for high-speed planetary capture with a 2704 × 1536 frame.
Collect a rapid sequence
ZWO rates the camera at 95 fps at full resolution.
Frame a wider field
The Type 1/1.8 sensor spans 7.84 × 4.45 mm, based on ZWO’s model comparison.
Capture a range of signal levels
The read-noise and dynamic-range curves show how those figures vary with gain.
High conversion gain and an AR window
HCG engages at gain 252, where ZWO shows a drop in read noise. The anti-reflection coated window transmits beyond the visible band. ZWO specifies a hardware zero-amp-glow design.

Sensor curves and setup diagrams

Full well
The charge a pixel can hold before saturating. ZWO marks about 36,500 electrons at the low-gain end. The vertical scale is logarithmic.

Conversion gain
The electrons represented by one digital count. ZWO marks unity gain around 190, where one count corresponds to approximately one electron.

Dynamic range
The gap between the noise floor and saturation. It rises back to about 11 stops at the high conversion gain transition and then declines.

Read noise
The noise introduced when the sensor is read. At gain 252, it drops from about 2.8 e⁻ to below 1 e⁻ RMS.

Relative colour response
The three traces compare the red, green and blue channels by wavelength. They converge in the near infrared around 850 nm.

Absolute quantum efficiency
The percentage of incident photons detected in each colour channel. The green and red curves peak around 90% in ZWO’s plot.

Protective window transmission
ZWO’s anti-reflection window passes most visible light and continues to transmit into the near infrared, with a gradual drop beyond about 700 nm.
