The new Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) Concept ensures true-to-life color reproduction and the highest level of detail. Thanks to its SmartFocus Concept, the focus wheel is perfectly positioned and enables fast and precise focusing – even with gloves on. With a field of view of up to 115 meters at a distance of 1,000 meters and a closest focusing distance of 1.5 meters, the SFL 10x40 deliver a perfect overview combined with precise detail recognition.
The lens diameter has been reduced by 2 mm, making it possible to use thinner lens elements at closer spacing and thus reduce the binoculars’ weight by up to 20% and their volume by up to 13% compared to the ZEISS Victory SF models. Monarchs are already well-regarded by birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts worldwide, but the Monarch HG 10 x 42 is on another level entirely. Made in Japan, the exterior and optics have been completely redesigned, now featuring a magnesium alloy body and metal eyecups for added resistance to wear and tear, multilayer coating on all lenses and prisms, extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, and a wider field of view than even the wide-field Monarch 7s.
The barrels are completely waterproof and fogproof down to 5m depth and 5000m altitude, while most exciting of all is the addition of a field flattener, which assures a sharp and clear view all the way to the lens periphery. With the SFL 30 ZEISS now offers compact high-performance binoculars in the practical design of pocket binoculars that, thanks to their light weight, do not add to the load, even on longer excursions. With a field of view of up to 120 meters at a distance of 1,000 meters and a closest focusing distance of 1.5 meters, the SFL 10x30 deliver a perfect overview combined with precise detail recognition. The lens diameter has been reduced by 2 mm, making it possible to use thinner lens elements at closer spacing and thus reduce the binoculars' weight by up to 23% and their length by up to 21% compared to the ZEISS Victory SF models. As a result, the SFL binoculars are up to 30% lighter than comparable products from competitors.

While achieving a wide field of view, the Field Flattener Lens System ensures sharpness and clarity all the way to the lens periphery. What's more, the use of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass corrects chromatic aberrations that cause colour fringing, delivering a contrast-rich, high-resolution image.
Achieving a bright view that provides natural colour fidelity
High-quality multilayer coatings are used on all lenses and prisms while dielectric high-reflective multilayer coating is applied to the roof prisms, achieving a bright view of up to 92% or higher light transmittance, and natural colour fidelity. The quality of view is as if seen with the naked eyes. Also, phase-corrected coating is applied to the roof prisms for enhanced resolution and contrast.
Sturdy, lightweight, waterproof body handles tough environments
Employing magnesium alloy ensures a sturdy, lightweight and compact body. The high level of waterproof/fogproof performance with nitrogen-filled body resists water pressure to a depth of 5m and prevents fogging inside the optical system, even in low-pressure environments up to altitudes of 5000m. Scratch-resistant coating is applied on the objective lens and eyepiece surfaces. An assured field of view is provided in harsh environments such as snow-covered mountains, exposed coastlines or under bad weather conditions.
