Optolong UV/IR Cut filter is designed for ultraviolet and infrared wavelength blocking to improve sharpness of the image as most of the optics are designed for the visible spectrum, because it’s very difficult to create a lens with the same focal point for the visible and IR spectrum.
It is used on a digital camera and the video, which do not have an IR protection filter toward an image sensor or were remodeled. This is important because unfiltered CCD and CMOS sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum that can have a very negative impact on image quality.
Main Use and Performance
Suitable for color CMOS and CCD cameras and modified DSLRs.
Use with monochrome CCD for astrophotography.
Available to assist in focusing.
Act as an outstanding dust shield, which prevents the possibility of dust settling on the lens during long time exposure.
WARNING: The filters of Optolong are not designed for sun observation. DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WITH OPTOLONG FILTER. You would be BLIND if you fail to observe the warning.
Up close & sharp – Samyang 135mm F2.0!
The Samyang 135mm F2.0 ED UMC II Canon EF Full Frame Camera Lens is a manual focus telephoto lens for full frame sensor sizes. It expresses vibrant colour and soft out-focusing area which makes it the best lens to shoot portrait, night scenery, wild-life and journalism photography.
This lens has a low F number of F2.0. You may control the lens precisely when shooting under various exposure environment including relatively dark or too bright situations.
This lens features 11 lenses in 7 groups especially including extra low dispersion lens (ED) to offer high resolution throughout the image. Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) is used by Samyang Optics to optimise the light penetration and minimises flare and ghost. With such optical construction, it has 0.8m of minimum focal length to film subjects in near distance. Also, the floating type design secures as much light as possible and maximises the resolution by minimising spherical aberration and distortion.
There are 9 aperture blades designed to be almost as a full circle when aperture is closed which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully. The frame of the lens is compact and solid since it is made of high-strength aluminium alloy so you can create trustworthy images. The detachable petal-shaped lens hood minimises flare and ghost by sheltering lens from unnecessary light.

The Astronomik H-alpha filter is a narrow band filter for CCD photography. The filter lets the H-alpha light of emission nebulae pass and blocks nearly the whole remainder of the spectrum where the CCD is sensitive.
The full width at half-maximum (FWHM) of 12nm is optimized for the use with common CCD cameras and allows the use of very fast optics. It should be noted that the filter has a transmission of up to 99%.Another advantage of the 12nm filters is the availability of guiding stars for cameras with a built-in-autoguider (SBIG). If you use a very strong filter like our 6nm filter you often won’t find a usable guidestar. The range of application extends from 1:2.8 to 1:15. Transmission losses and chromatic distortions, which arise with other filters, only occur with Astronomik filters when extremely bright aperture ratios of 1:2 and more come into play.
Main use
The Astronomik H-alpha-CCD (12nm version) increases the contrast between objects, in this case between the H-alpha emission line and the skyglow background. Our Astronomik H-alpha-CCD (12nm version) completely suppresses the emission lines of artificial lighting (mercury (Hg) and sodium (Na)) and skyglow.
Other uses
- When using the OIII CCD and the SII-CCD filters you can obtain three-color images of emission line objects (gas nebulae) from locations with very strong light pollution. To do so, you would take an image in three different wavelengths, select each one as a color-channel in Photoshop and paste them together as a color image.
- The Astronomik H-Alpha filters may NOT be used for solar observation.
- If you plan to create color images from emission line data, our CLS-CCD filter is a great choice for the Luminance channel.

Every astronomer needs a red-light torch to let the handle and adjust their telescopes, mounts, cameras and other accessories.
Astronomers use red-light torches to preserve their "night vision" - the way our eyes adjust to seeing in low light conditions after about 20-30 minutes. BINTEL worked with Astronomy Night to assist with the best settings for astronomers when using this torch.
This NML-C flashlight offers two lighting outputs, a twin LED flashlight and dual coloured red or white COB light output. Both the flashlight and COB light incorporate full brightness adjustment control, ideal for astronomers and night vision support.
Integrated with a 270° rotating arm, this flashlight also includes a magnet and hook to help with placement for that perfect light direction.
Red light colour
The NML-C Astronomy Torch is inspired from the star NML Cygni, a red hypergiant from the Cygnus constellation. NML Cygni is approximately 2700 times bigger than our sun and is one of the largest and luminous stars in the milky way.

Celestron has reinvented the Tabletop Dobsonian telescope with StarSense Explorer—the first Tabletop Dobsonian that uses your smartphone to analyze the night sky and calculate its position in real-time. This larger-aperture Celestron StarSense Explorer is ideal for beginners, thanks to the app's user-friendly interface and detailed tutorials. It's like having your own personal tour guide of the night sky.
Dock, Launch, Explore
Leave complicated star charts, imprecise planetarium apps, and computerized mounts behind. With StarSense Explorer, locating objects has never been easier, faster, or more accurate. Within minutes of setting up the telescope, you'll be navigating the sky with confidence. Simply place your phone in the unique StarSense dock and launch the StarSense Explorer app.
After aligning your phone to the telescope's optics (a quick and easy procedure), StarSense Explorer generates a list of celestial objects currently visible. Make your selection and arrows appear on-screen, guiding you as you move the telescope. When the object is ready to view in the eyepiece, the bullseye turns green. As you observe, listen to hundreds of audio descriptions and view detailed information about thousands of objects within the app’s robust database.
High-Quality Altazimuth Base
The stable Tabletop Dobsonian base provides a sturdy foundation for StarSense Explorer. The tabletop base is compact, lightweight, and easy to transport, making it perfect for travel. The base’s low-profile makes accessing the eyepiece easier for some observers (especially children). You can also place the base on a stable platform, like a table or hood of a car, to raise it to a comfortable viewing height. Consider adding the optional tripod for even more viewing options.
Teflon bearings provide smooth motion in both altitude and azimuth. The integrated altitude "brake" system allows you to adjust the tension along the altitude axis to ensure the smoothest motion, even with slight imbalances. The panning knob on the telescope tube provides an ergonomic grip so you can precisely point the telescope without introducing heat from your hands into the optical system. As celestial objects appear to drift across the night sky, you’ll be able to follow them easily.
The optical tube connects to the base via tube rings. It’s easy to adjust the tube’s position in the rings so the focuser is in the best viewing position. The base features an eyepiece rack to keep your extra eyepiece(s) close at hand.
Dazzling Views with Excellent Optics
With a large 150mm (5.9”) aperture parabolic primary mirror, this telescope has enough light gathering ability to bring out detail in celestial objects. You can expect sharp, bright views of Jupiter’s four Galilean moons, its cloud bands and Great Red Spot, the rings of Saturn, the trapezium in the Orion Nebula, and the beautiful Pleiades Open Star Cluster. You'll be able to discern subtle details while viewing the Moon and planets, as well as faint galaxies and nebulae.
This telescope features a 1.25” rack-and-pinion focuser that accepts 1.25” eyepieces and dust covers for the front of the tube and the focuser.
Perfect for the City or Dark Sky Sites
Even if you live in a light-polluted city location, the Celestron StarSense Explorer 150mm Tabletop Dobsonian is advanced enough to easily pick out Jupiter, Saturn, open star clusters like the Pleiades, double stars like Acrux (the "tail" of the Southern Cross), the Orion Nebula, Omega Centauri, and more of the best and brightest celestial objects.
But if you can take the telescope to an even slightly darker location, more objects will become visible. With this 150mm Dobsonian and relatively dark skies, hundreds of fascinating objects are well within your reach.
The StarSense Explorer Tabletop Dobsonian is equipped with carry handles, making it easy to transport to your observing site.
Smartphone Compatibility
Celestron StarSense Explorer works with most modern smartphones, including iPhone 6 and up, and most devices running Android 7.1.2 or later manufactured since 2016. For a complete compatibility list, click here.
Patented StarSense Sky Recognition Technology
StarSense Explorer uses patented technology and your smartphone to determine exactly where the telescope is pointed in the night sky. A Lost in Space Algorithm (LISA), like the ones satellites use in orbit to correctly orient themselves, helps the app match star patterns it detects overhead to its internal database.
While other astronomy apps may claim that they can help you find objects, they rely exclusively on the phone's gyros and accelerometers, which aren't as accurate as LISA technology. No other app can accurately tell you when your target is visible in the eyepiece.

The Hummingbird spotting scope shares many qualities with its namesake bird. In the wild, hummingbirds are known for their very small size, their agility (they can fly in most any direction at will), and their ability to travel long distances. The Celestron Hummingbird is the world’s first “micro” spotting scope well suited for hikers, birder watchers, and other wildlife watchers on the go.
Go “Micro”
Standard spotting scopes tend to be large and/or heavy, making them inconvenient to carry long distances in the field. The Hummingbird will shatter your expectations for how lightweight and compact a spotting scope can be, so you’ll take it places you never thought possible. You can easily hold this spotting scope in one hand, place it in a pocket, or pack it along in your carry-on luggage without compromising space.
Crisp, clear images
Although it is small, Hummingbird does not compromise on quality. All air-to-glass surfaces are fully multi-coated with high transmission optical coatings. The result is maximum light transmission for bright, sharp and contrast images. The prism is phase-coated BaK4, which increases contrast and resolution for sharper, more detailed images.
Durable, waterproof construction
The durable body of the Hummingbird works to keep the spotting scope protected against bumps and jolts both during transport and in the field. It’s also fully waterproof and nitrogen-purged, so you can use the scope worry-free in downpours, humid conditions, and other environmental challenges.
Ready for any adventure
The Hummingbird 9-27x56 spotting scope features a close focus of 10 feet, making it perfect for viewing birds, butterflies, plants, or other nearby subjects. The magnification of the 9-27x56mm spotting scope spans the standard magnification ranges of both a binocular and a spotting scope. No matter how you choose to observe, this versatile spotting scope is an excellent all-around performer.
Ways to observe
Unlike most spotting scopes, Hummingbird is so small that you can use it handheld at the lowest magnification level for a quick view of your subject. Travelers who want to save space can replace both their binocular and their spotting scope with this one optic. But the scope is also tripod adaptable, so you can secure it to a stable platform for comfortable long-duration or long-distance viewing.
Hummingbird provides plenty of eye relief for use with or without eyeglasses. For use while wearing eyeglasses, leave the twist-up eyecup in the lowered position. For use while not wearing eyeglasses, twist the twist-up eyecup into the extended position.

The First Astronomers is the first book to reveal the rich knowledge of the stars and the planets held by First Peoples around the world.
Our eyes have been drawn away from the skies to our screens. We no longer look to the stars to forecast the weather, predict the seasons or plant our gardens. Most of us cannot even see the Milky Way. But First Nations Elders around the world still maintain this knowledge, and there is much we can learn from them.
These Elders are expert observers of the stars. They teach that everything on the land is reflected in the sky, and everything in the sky is reflected on the land. How does this work, and how can we better understand our place in the universe?
Guided by six First Nations Elders, Duane Hamacher takes us on a journey across space and time to reveal the wisdom of the first astronomers. These living systems of knowledge challenge conventional ideas about the nature of science and the longevity of oral tradition. Indigenous science is dynamic, adapting to changes in the skies and on Earth, pointing the way for a world facing the profound disruptions of climate change.
'This book marks a profound paradigm shift in our understanding of Indigenous scientific traditions, how they are transmitted, and their relevance to life today.' - Professor Marcia Langton, University of Melbourne

Overview
The QHY5III715C is an ultra-high resolution back-illuminated color camera with extremely low read noise. The sensor has a 1/2.8-inch optical format, similar to the QHY5III462C. However, the QHY5III715C has 4X as many pixels as the QHY5III462C for 4K resolution with 1.45um pixels.
This makes the new QHY5III715C ideal for smaller short focal length refractors. The exceptionally small pixels subtend a FOV of less than 1 arcsecond at focal lengths of 12 inches (300mm) or longer. The QHY5III715C inherits all of the updates and improvements of the QHY5III Series Ver. 2 line of cameras (See below).

The QHY5III (Ver. 2) series planetary and guiding cameras are all equipped with a 512MB DDR3 image buffer which can effectively reduce the pressure on computer transmission, a great help for planetary photography which often requires writing a large amount of data in a short period of time.
Some deep-sky astrophotography cameras on the market today only have 256MB, for example.
In comparison, the 512MB DDR3 memory of the new 5III (Ver. 2) series cameras represents a significant upgrade.

Extended Near Infrared Sensitivity
In this latest generation of sensors, the photodiode portion of the pixel well is physically deeper than in previous sensors, allowing photons of longer wavelengths to penetrate deeper into the substrate. This dramatically increases the sensor’s sensitivity to red and near-infrared (NIR) light. The sensor displays almost equal peak sensitivity to NIR light as it does to light in the visible spectrum.

When placed over the front of a telescope, handy Orion PinPoint Telescope Focusing Masks make it easy to achieve quick and precise focusing without guesswork. Also known as Bahtinov masks, these focus aids feature a laser-cut slot pattern that produces a distinct, intersecting 3-line pattern once accurate focus is achieved in any type of telescope.
Orion PinPoint Focusing Masks will help astrophotographers save time and avoid frustrating, fuzzy results caused by slightly defocused exposures. With a PinPoint Mask installed on an imaging telescope, just focus on any bright star within or near the celestial object you want to photograph and adjust focus until the intersecting 3-line pattern is displayed indicating precise focus has been achieved. Wow, that was fast! Besides astrophotographic applications, PinPoint Focusing Masks are also useful for visual observations when fast, tack-sharp focusing is desired.
Precise focus is achieved when the middle spike is exactly centered in the "X" pattern.
Three Orion-exclusive adjustable rubber-sleeved pegs equipped with thumbscrews clamp onto the outside of your telescope tube or dew shield to hold the PinPoint Mask firmly in place. Orion PinPoint Focusing Masks are easy to install and remove so you can achieve precise focus and quickly start capturing astrophoto exposures.
Each Orion PinPoint Focusing Mask can fit a range of telescope tube diameters. For example, this 118-153mm ID Orion PinPoint Focusing Mask will fit telescope tubes with an outer diameter ranging from 118mm to 153mm (4.64" to 6.02").
Made of laser-cut black plastic. Flat for easy storage and transport.
Limited Warranty against defects in materials or workmanship for one year from date of purchase. This warranty is for the benefit of the original retail purchaser only.
