The Lunt Solar Systems Pressure Tuner Controller, or PC-USB, is a microprocessor controlled, remote operable* , pressure control system that can be retrofitted to any Lunt PT product without return to the Lunt facility. A simple 1/8″ airline connects the PC-USB to the Solar Telescope and can be installed at any length.
The PC-USB is a simple 2 button system. One button for increasing and one button for decreasing the PT pressure. Digital feedback and indicator lights are provided.
The PC-USB can run continuously on internal battery power for more than 12 hours. It has external power input (12-15 VDC) (120/240 VAC to 12 V adapter) that can power the unit and charge the internal batteries simultaneously.
All existing PT systems can be retrofitted via an adapter to the pressure tuner knob. Or, future PT units can be specified with a quick disconnect at the PT input, removing the PT knob from the telescope altogether.
Upon power up the PC-USB will go thru a systems vent and ambient pressure set mode. It can be factory or user programmed to center wavelength setpoint. Due to the sealed nature of the system, the center wavelength setpoint will remain constant at any altitude at a given set pressure point.
The Pressure Tuner Controller is accurate to 0.3 PSI, providing very precise control of the pressure setpoint. It will auto-compensate for fluctuations in internal pressure changes due to significant changes in temperature. Because the PC-USB can provide closed-loop feedback of internal etalon pressure, users can correlate change in pressure to doppler shifted events.
Contact us if you need additional hose length.
* USB Cables for remote usage not included

SFPT — Internal Double Stack Module For Lunt LS80MT & LS100MT Universal Day and Night Telescopes.
Now with new-generation etalons — every unit individually tested on Lunt's precision metrology equipment. Every specification is verified, not estimated.
The SFPT is the internal double-stack module for Lunt's 80mm and 100mm Universal Modular Telescopes. It adds a second precision etalon inside the telescope body, reducing combined system bandpass from 0.45Å single-stack to <0.28Å — without altering the telescope's external dimensions, balance, or night-sky capability.
The improvement in chromospheric contrast at <0.28Å is immediate and significant. Surface detail that single-stack views render as texture separates into discrete structure. Plage boundaries sharpen into defined cellular networks. Filaments reveal dark cores and complex multi-strand architecture. Active regions display the full depth of their magnetic complexity. Prominences show internal threading and flow patterns that single-stack instruments at this aperture simply cannot resolve.
The SFPT is designed for customer installation — no factory return required. It can be purchased at the time of telescope acquisition or at any point thereafter, making the DS upgrade a genuine deferred investment rather than a permanent commitment at point of sale. The module includes dual independent Doppler True tuning knobs — one for each etalon — allowing precise independent control of bandpass position for optimum contrast on any target.

The Calcium K (Ca-K) module is designed for observing the Sun in the 393.4 nm wavelength, one of the two emission lines produced by Calcium near the edge of the visible spectrum. This line originates from a slightly lower and cooler layer of the solar atmosphere than that observed in Hydrogen-alpha, revealing supergranulation cells and bright regions associated with strong magnetic activity such as sunspots and active regions.
Observing both the Calcium K and Hydrogen-alpha wavelengths provides a deeper understanding of the Sun’s structure, magnetic field strength, and the dynamics of its active regions.
This Calcium K Module is engineered exclusively for the Lunt LS130MT Universal Telescope, integrating seamlessly with its modular design. It allows the LS130MT to be configured for Ca-K solar observing or imaging with optimal performance.
The Ca-K line at 393.4 nm lies just beyond the visible spectrum on the ultraviolet side. While many observers can perceive a faint violet hue, others may find the contrast difficult to discern due to natural eye limitations. For this reason, Calcium K is most effectively studied through imaging — modern cameras capture the fine structure and intricate detail of the Sun in this wavelength with remarkable clarity.
The Lunt Ca-K Module for LS130MT includes internal narrowband filters with a <2.4 Å bandpass, delivering crisp, high-contrast solar images. This is primarily an imaging system, though experienced observers or those with enhanced UV sensitivity (such as post-cataract surgery) may enjoy limited visual observation.

Double stacking provides a truly enhanced, high definition view of the Sun’s surface details. Notably, it lowers the bandpass of the system from <0.65 Angstroms to <0.45 Angstroms. This will significantly make the surface features on the Sun "pop"!
The Lunt 130 mm and 152 mm telescopes can be internally double-stacked at the time of purchase or anytime thereafter. Furthermore, neither telescope module will need to be returned to the factory for double-stacking.
You can purchase the 130 mm or 152 mm single stack telescope initially and add the LFPT to make it a double stack unit later. This will make it more affordable to purchase our a new universal telescope and still have room for upgrades. Once you upgrade your Lunt Universal Telescope with the double stack unit, you will be able to see the finer details not previously visible.

Calcium K (Ca-K) telescopes and filters are used to study the wavelength of 393.4 nm. This emission line is one of two that are produced by Calcium just at the edge of the visible spectrum. Comparatively, this is in a layer that is slightly lower and cooler than the layer viewed in Hydrogen-alpha. The emission line displays areas of super granulation cells that are brightest and strongest in areas of high magnetic fields, such as sunspot activity and active regions. Having the ability to study the Calcium K and the Hydrogen-alpha line provides important insights into the structure, strength, and depth of these active regions. Lunt Solar Systems Calcium K modules can be used with most standard night time refractors, or with Lunt's new Modular Telescopes in their night time configuration!
The Calcium K modules line is centered at 393.4 nm. This wavelength is considered to be slightly outside the visible spectrum on the UV side. While most people can visually see the violet color of the wavelength, many cannot resolve the contrast due to yellowing of the cornea. People who have had cataract surgery are often able to see considerable detail. But, it is for these reasons that the Ca-K line is typically studied via the use of cameras, which are able to provide stunning details.
Internal narrowband filters allow for a <2.4 Angstrom bandpass. This is primarily an imaging system due to the difficulty of many to visually see everything that CaK has to offer.
Choose the best Calcium K Module for your Telescope Size and Focal Length:
B600: For telescopes up to 100 mm aperture and 600 mm focal length
B1200: For telescopes up to 100 mm aperture and 1200 mm focal length
B1800: For telescopes up to 100 mm aperture and 1800 mm focal length
