The Maksutov-Cassegrain Advantage
This telescope design corrects the problem of off-axis aberrations that are commonly encountered with the reflector design. It improves edge to edge clarity when viewing wider field of views. Because the mirror already reflects the light for a certain distance inside the tube, a longer focal length is achieved without the need for a much longer tube. False colours are significantly minimised allowing for an improved viewing experience.
Maksutov telescopes have been very popular with Solar System observers and make a great choice for viewing Mars, Saturn and Jupiter.
