On July 21, 1969, the first man set foot on The Moon. When Neil Armstrong was asked if this made him feel big, he answered: "No, it made me feel really, really small."
50 years later, this publication celebrates that special moment that put life on earth into a totally different perspective. It collects pictures of the world's best photographers from the 1840s until today. Next to historical photographs and imagery printed in media, the publication features many artists that each in their own way reflect on this mystical celestial body, we call 'moon'. The book shows the diversity of meanings of The Moon, it's relation to mankind and to nature.
The Moon has always both attracted and scared people around the world. It is our everyday connection to the unfathomable universe. Since time immemorial it is revered for its beauty, its stillness and mysterious appearance and yet also feared for its supernatural-seeming qualities. In mythology The Moon has always been given a central place. With its magnetic forces it changes the tides and has a direct and uncontrollable impact on mankind from above.
In 1840, barely three years after the invention of photography, J.W. Draper makes the first picture ever made of The Moon and since that day photographers have never stopped following his example. The paradoxical aspects of the moon continue to fascinate and inspire. Like a photograph The Moon depends on sunlight to be visible. It has no light of its own and no apparent strength to resist our nightly city lights either. Photographers feel this close connection to The Moon's characteristics and find the perfect object in its aesthetics.
The landing on The Moon was a culmination point of the1960's Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union, which quickly became a symbol of the Cold War. The images of the landing became the bearer of values and symbols of the United States and were widely spread through various media. In 1973 NASA abolished its moon program. The Moon had been conquered and the public seemed to have had lost interest. However, today people still find The Moon fascinating, and humanity continues to dream about setting foot on the sun's shadow.

The Acuter Elite Phoenix 40 Solar Telescope is a Solar H-Alpha telescope for narrow-band observation and photography of the Sun. This instrument makes it possible to explore extraordinary solar surface dynamics that go far beyond what a white light solar filter can show.
Phenomena such as solar protuberances, active spots, flares, granulations, plasma filaments and more finally become observable and photographable with excellent sharpness and resolution. Hydrogen Alpha (Ha) solar telescopes are specialized instruments for observing the Sun at a specific wavelength of light, 656.3 nm, corresponding to the red line of the Balmer series in the hydrogen emission spectrum. This wavelength is critical for studying solar phenomena such as protuberances, filaments, sunspots and flares.
Unlike standard white-light telescopes, which capture the full solar spectrum, Ha telescopes offer a specific window into the activities of the chromosphere, the layer of the solar atmosphere located just above the photosphere. Compact and Portable: The metal optical tube makes the Acuter Phoenix 40mm solar telescope ideal for travel, while the rugged design ensures uncompromising durability.
Perfect for experienced observers and enthusiasts who wish to explore and admire the Sun’s surface in detail. Perfect for astrophotography enthusiasts and observers of the Sun.
ISO Certified Safety: This telescope complies with ISO 12312-2:2015, ensuring maximum protection for the eye during solar observation.
When viewing the Sun in the narrow H-alpha bandwidth, the observer is rewarded with thrilling, awe-inspiring real-time views of our nearest star in it’s full fiery majesty, seething with activity, revealing exciting details such as solar flares, prominences, spicules, surface granularity & sun spots
Supplied with a universal smartphone camera adaptor to take photos using your smartphone to keep a photographic record of your observations. Also supplied with a regular Star Diagonal & Red Dot Finder – the telescope can be used for normal astronomical observations as an 80/400 achromatic refractor telescope with the etalon removed

The saxon AZ5 mount with Steel Tripod is a light but heavy duty alt-azimuth mount. It is designed to carry small and medium sized telescopes and spotting scopes up to 8kgs. This portable mount is made of powder-coated aluminium and with smooth worm gears on both altitude and azimuth axes.
The adjustable arm can be tilted to multiple angles (45°, 90° & 135°), allowing you to use your telescope in different ways (e.g. observing at the zenith). Slow-motion controls come in both axes, which assist in fine tuning and keeping track of targeted objects.
An allen key is provided and stored behind the fork arm with a magnet. Adjustments to the mount are easy and hassle-free as the allen key is easily accessible and safely stored with the mount.
The adjustable steel tripod legs can be adjusted from 70cm to 130cm (excluding the height of the mount). The provided accessory tray not only keeps your eyepiece(s) in place but also secures the tripod legs to enhance the stability of the mount and minimise the impact of surrounding vibrations.

The Astronomik 6nm H-alpha filter is an extremely narrow emission-line filter for CCD photography. The filter lets the H-alpha light of emission nebulae pass and blocks nearly the whole remainder of the spectrum where the CCD is sensitive.
The full width at half-maximum (FWHM) of 6nm is optimized for a maximum contrast between the (H-alpha emitting) object and the background. The contrast gain is much higher than with our 12nm emission line filters but you won’t see as much stars in the resulting images.
The design of the transmission curve makes it possible to use the filters with instruments from 1:3.75 to 1:15. Selected filters for faster system are available upon special request.
All transmission curves of the 6nm filter are measured individually. Because of this procedure you can get the optimum filter for your telescope: If you place a direct order please specify the focal ratio of your instrument and we will select the best filter for your setup. So you may get the best filter without paying for an A+ filter.
Main use
The Astronomik H-alpha-CCD (6nm version) increases the contrast between objects, in this case between the H-alpha emission line and the skyglow background in the same way as the 12nm version. The gain in contrast is much higher due to the smaller FWHM. The 6nm H-Alpha filter is the right choice for extremely dim objects, even in the milkyway, and for observations from heavily light-polluted places. The Astronomik 6nm H-alpha-CCD completely suppresses the emission lines of artificial lighting (mercury (Hg) and sodium (Na)) and skyglow. Transmission losses and chromatic distortions, which arise with other filters, only occur with Astronomik filters when extremely bright aperture ratios come into play. Selected filters for faster systems are available upon special request.
Other uses
- Using the Astronomik 6nm H-Alpha together with the 12nm H-Alpha gives you the ability to have a maximum contrast in the HII objects and to keep the stars in the final image.
- The Astronomik 6nm H-Alpha filter may NOT be used for solar observation.

The lightest vibration-canceller binoculars with 422 g (as of November 2017 by our company survey). It is lightweight binoculars equipped with vibration-canceller mechanism. Extremely stable field of view can be obtained even with hands thanks to the powerful vibration-canceller effect. You can observe everything in detail such as the shine of the bird's eyes and the pattern of the feathers and enjoy the live feeling as watching nearby.
Features
The incorporated vibration-canceller mechanism assures very stable image
Vibration by hands makes it often difficult to see cearly objects particularly at high magnification. ATERA H12x30 incorporates a vibration-canceller mechanism with a 2-axis gimbal control image stabilization mechanism. With a strong correction effect of vibration correction angle ± 3 degrees (up, down, left and right), a stable field of view can be obtained even at a high magnification of 12 times. Since micro vibration is also cancelled, it outperforms in observing details such as the shine of bird's eyes and the pattern of feathers. Also, if you observe a star, you can observe up to the darkest star as much as 1st grade than ordinary, which can not be seen with blurring.
Light422g design allows operating by single hand
The 422g light weight as binoculars equipped with vibration cancelling mechanism. You do not feel tired even using for a long time.
Stamina 12 hours duration with AAA batteries
Two AAA batteries are used for power supply. Since it is easy to obtain anywhere, it is safe to observe in the field and live in remote areas. Thanks to the stamina design of operation time around 12 hours (using a new alkaline dry battery at 20 ° C), you can focus on observation without worrying about battery consumption.Auto power off function which automatically turns off the power after 5 minutes elapses prevents wasteful battery drain.
Clear visibility by three coatings
By applying fully multi coating with anti-reflection multilayered coat on the entire lens surface, the phase coat on the prism that reduces halation and dramatically increases resolution, and a high reflection coat that increases the brightness of the image, stray light and loss of light intensity are thoroughly eliminated for an extreme clarity in the field of view.
Ergonomically desinged for excellent operability
A gentle rounded form fitting to a small hands, a focus ring that can be turned smoothly with light touch by single finger, a universal design that does not choose dominant hands, locating a battery space away from finger-touch area, all designed for holding comfort without stress. Considering loss of parts in a dark place such as a concert venue, we designed battery lid integrated.
Fashionable but simple design
Simple and smooth form gentle to hands, light beige color coordinated. It is a full-fledged mechanicics incorporating vibration-canceller mechanism, neutral design easy to coordinate to various fashion. An elegant and restless gloss feeling directs fashionable casually.
