Convert your Sky-Watcher Fusion 120i mount or Sky-Watcher Fusion 120i and 150mm Maksutov to an equatorial platform for longer exposure astrophotography.
The Sky-Watcher Fusion 120i is a handy performer when it comes to tracking, but like all AZ (Alt-azimuth) mounts, while it can keep an object centred for imaging, the object will slowly rotate over time. This is called field rotation.
By using a wedge and aligning it to the south celestial pole, AZ mounts are effectively turned into EQ (equatorial) mounts that don't have problems with field rotation and allow for longer exposures.

At just over 4 inches in diameter and a few inches thick (IMX585), the new miniCAM8 is a compact, high-resolution, high-performance, cooled imaging system capable of exceptional, high-quality deep space images as well as high-quality, high-resolution planetary images.
So often, compactness in astroimaging is achieved at the expense of some other critical feature found in multi-component cooled systems, such as sensor quality or thermoelectric cooling, etc. Such is not the case with the new miniCAM8. Based on Sony’s IMX585 8 MP sensor, the miniCAM8 includes full TE cooling capable of reaching a delta of -45℃ from ambient along with a built-in 8-position filter wheel for complete LRGB and narrowband imaging.
High Near-Infrared Sensitivity
The IMX585 is a Sony Starvis II processor that enables high sensitivity and high dynamic range (HDR). It also improves sensitivity in the near-infrared range by approximately 1.7 times* compared to the IMX485. The new camera miniCAM8 has a maximum quantum efficiency of 60% in the near-infrared band and 92% in the visible wavelength band.

BSI
One benefit of the back-illuminated CMOS structure is improved full-well capacity. This is particularly helpful for sensors with small pixels. In a typical front-illuminated sensor, photons from the target entering the photosensitive layer of the sensor must first pass through the metal wiring that is embedded just above the photosensitive layer. The wiring structure reflects some of the photons and reduces the efficiency of the sensor.
In the back-illuminated sensor, the light is allowed to enter the photosensitive surface from the reverse side. In this case, the sensor’s embedded wiring structure is below the photosensitive layer. As a result, more incoming photons strike the photosensitive layer, and more electrons are generated and captured in the pixel well. This ratio of photon to electron production is called quantum efficiency. The higher the quantum efficiency, the more efficient the sensor is at converting photons to electrons, and hence the more sensitive the sensor is to capturing an image of something dim.
Zero Amplify Glow
miniCAM8 is also a zero amplifier glow camera.
Anti-Dew Technology
Based on almost 20-year cooled camera design experience, the QHY cooled camera has implemented the fully dew control solutions. The optic window has a built-in dew heater, and the chamber is protected from internal humidity condensation. An electric heating board for the chamber window can prevent the formation of dew, and the sensor itself is kept dry with our silicon gel tube socket design for control of humidity within the sensor chamber.
Cooling
In addition to dual-stage TE cooling, QHYCCD implements proprietary technology in hardware to control the dark current noise.
Filters
The astronomical filters included with the miniCAM8 deepsky combos are custom-designed to match the specific characteristics of the cameras. The size is 19 mm * 12 mm * 1.1 mm. The LRGB and SHO narrowband filters for the miniCAM8M deepsky combo are customized by XiMei Filters. The LRGB filters have an optical density (OD) value of 3, while the narrowband filters have an OD value of 5.

Antlia ALP-T Dual Band 5nm Highspeed Filters are optimized to work with high-speed imaging systems by shifting slightly the passband and center wavelength. Using these highspeed filters between optics f/2.2 and f/3.6 shows much stronger and more contrasted in nebulae imaging compared to the standard version, if you seek the best possible performance with any optics faster than f/2.2, the highspeed version is the best choice.
But keep in mind, the blue shift data by the computer simulation indicates narrowband filter shifts its bandwidth to shorter wavelengths with faster optics than f/2, transmission at the emission wavelength may decrease perhaps 15%-20%. Although the Antlia ALP-T highspeed filter has similar transmission rates reduction in the H-a and OIII when the filter is used on fast optics, based on current standard version users’ data, it is evident that the filter still has the high performance of increase in emission nebula contrast and minimized halo.
The highspeed version price is the same as the standard filters and double benefits for the high-speed optics users. Worth mentioning is that Antlia inspected and measured products piece by piece with one of Agilent Cary’s professional spectrophotometer, resolution/slit width is up to 0.2nm, which make us provide highly reliable and consistent products to you.
The Antlia ALP-T dual band 5nm series filter is a dual line-pass filter that was designed to be used primarily with one-shot color (OSC) cameras such as DSLR's and astronomical OSC cameras. It can also be used as a narrowband filter for monochrome cameras to save imaging time. The advanced multi-coatings on our ALP-T ultra dual band filter effectively isolate the red Ha and the blue-green OIII lines light from emission nebulae, with almost total suppression of optical density (OD)4.5 on unwanted wavelengths from light pollution, moonlight, and airglow. The result is that our ALP-T dual band 5nm filter creates a superior signal-to-noise ratio and better contrast in your images.
The filter enables the capture of the two main emission nebulae bands at the same time, whilst suppressing unwanted light pollution. It enables you to capture cleaner data and reduces the post-processing efforts to isolate faint details from the background light pollution.
Application and Performance:
Designed especially for fast astronomy optics, in particular f-ratios f/2.2 to f/3.6
Engineered specifically for use with DSLR, CMOS, and CCD color cameras
Suppression of optical density (OD)4.5 on unwanted wavelengths adds signal-to-noise
Extremely steep bandpass edges minimize internal reflections
Ideal flat-top and moderate bandpass reducing spectrum down shifts
Ion Gun Assisted Deposition coating technology on the double-sided polished substrate making it the most consistent and accurate light pollution suppression filter
Designed to suppress artificial lighting from Bortle scale 1 to Bortle scale 8
Near IR (NIR) is blocked up to 1050nm

SBIG StarChaser SC-2 Off-Axis Guider Cameras
Diffraction Limited’s new SBIG StarChaser SC-2 is the world’s first, all-in-one independent Off-Axis Guiding Camera with Adaptive Optics support. The StarChaser operates independently of the main camera. It combines a pick-off mirror, guider camera, guide port, and Adaptive Optics control.
Stop wasting time with ruined exposures caused by flexure between the main camera and guider. Off-axis guiding eliminates this problem by using the same optical path for the main camera and the guider.
Most off-axis guider assemblies are awkward to use, consume too much back focus, and require you to focus by slipping a camera inside an eyepiece holder. SBIG pioneered simplified off-axis guiding, with guide sensors built into CCD cameras. Later, we created the self-guiding filter wheel, placing the guide sensor in the light path ahead of photon-robbing narrowband filters. The StarChaser is the next step in this progression – a fully independent guide camera with AO capability.
Note: When using with StarChaser with AO, you will need a StarChaser to AO-X/AO-8T Adapter Cable. The necessary adapter cable is included in our StarChaser SC-3 / AO-X Bundle and StarChaser SC-2 / AO-8A Bundle.
Three Versions Available
StarChaserSC-2 is designed to work with our compact SBIG cameras. It supports the AO-8A adaptive optics unit. See the table below for compatibility with various camera models.
Adapters are also available to attach StarChaser to legacy STL cameras. For STL cameras with smaller sensors and internal filter wheel, you can use the SC-2 with the appropriate adapter. Another adapter is available to attach the SC-3-SHORT, for STL cameras with larger sensors and the external filter wheel.
The StarChaser represents our next generation of off-axis guide technology. It features a high-sensitivity 1.3 megapixel Global Shutter CMOS sensor with 4.8 micron pixels. Unlike competing autoguiders, the StarChaser has a mechanical shutter for easy dark frame correction. This feature, standard on all SBIG guiders, optimizes sensitivity and eliminates hot pixels that could degrade guiding accuracy. The pick-off mirror position is adjustable by loosening a locking knob and sliding the mirror into or out of the housing. You can avoid vignetting the main sensor while optimizing the light path into the guide sensor. Once that is set, focus is adjusted simply by turning a second knob. Adaptive Optics Control
Thanks to the SBIG StarChaser series, our renowned Adaptive Optics (AO) technology is now available for virtually our entire camera line! Our AO-8A (available separately) bolts onto the front of the StarChaser SC-2. The StarChaser is in turn attached to the front of an SBIG standard filter wheel and camera. Adaptive Optics technology eliminates guiding errors caused by common mount problems such as stiction, periodic error, and wind loads. It can even reduce “slow seeing” effects resulting in higher resolution images. Thin and Adaptable
The STarChaser StarChase ST-2 SC-2 is just 0.800″ (20.3 mm) thick. When attaching to a filter wheel the existing adapter plate (0.147″ / 3.7 mm thick) would normally be moved from the filter wheel onto the front of the SC-2. When attaching an AO-8A to the front of the SC-2, the adapter plate is not used. StarChase SC-2 Instruction Manual

7 Position Electronic Filter Wheel for Large Format Cameras
The ATIK EFW3 gives you more freedom and convenience to your imaging set up.
For a large format wheel, the EFW3 boasts a slim, lightweight design. It measures 238×213mm dimensions and weighs in at just approx. 850g. This is great news for large format set ups where weight can be a real concern. That said, the wheel is fully compatible with any Atik camera when using the supplied M54 or M42 adaptors. We’ve simplified the technical side of the design from the EFW2 to further improve reliability and minimise component wear and tear. However, it's still machined from solid aluminium to produce a durable and quality wheel that will keep turning, night after night.
Atik 16200 users will also be pleased to know that the EFW3 can either be attached directly to the camera as it is, or after removing the front plate to further minimise any backfocus requirements. With the front plate attached, the backfocus is 41.5mm, while the backfocus with the front plate removed is just 34.5mm.
On the software side of things, the EFW3 has a full ASCOM driver, so any complaint software can be used to control it. Additionally the EFW3 can be controlled using our Artemis Capture software, for simple and efficient operation
